I found out, from my husband's high school BFFs, that he had family members who were obsessed w/ the kids *not gaining weight*.

It hurt to imagine my skinny, high-school-age, quiet, Vulcan, ever having to worry abt his weight. Hurt turned to fury. Our oldest didn't..

...eat on the day she was born. It took 36 hours to get any calories in her, & even when we did, I was shamed AF for not breast-feeding.

Then, the only formula she would take went out of production.

I've spent almost 18 years trying to keep #TheFirecracker fed, & I cannot...

...imagine the gall of someone telling her, or any of my kids, to worry abt their weight.

I remember seeing some FB posts of an old friend, & their extended family called them fatty, teasing them, for missing a few days running.

Now, we have a pandemic where one of the only...

...effective treatments is steroids, which cause a person to gain weight rapidly.

I was on those steroids for EIGHT MONTHS. 60mg, tapering down!
I tried to get off them too early, & had to start over at 30.

My husband never made me feel anything but beautiful, & like he was...

...just thankful I was alive. Even #TheFirecracker was like, "You're not allowed to feel bad abt your body, ever. It's working hard to keep you alive."

And in the midst of this pandemic, if anyone shames anyone else for being fat, you have my permission to eat them. 😂
