1/ MARRIAGE, SEPERATION, DIVORCE& REMARRIAGE Pt.2 #TakeNote Pls read with an open mind, analyze,compare scriptures&understand in the Spirit.
When Jesus said “what God has joined together, LET NOT MAN PUT ASUNDER” he wasn’t saying that marriage is to be separated only by death...
2/ Or else, he won’t have said that a man is permitted to put away his wife on the grounds of adultery under the OT and Paul won’t have exhorted us in 1 Cor. 7:15 that,
“..if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in SUCH CASES:”
3/ The Greek word for 'put asunder' is chorizo - which also means 'to go away,' 'depart' or 'separate'
Therefore, in letting the scriptures interpret itself, I believe Paul explained what Jesus meant by "let not man put asunder" in 1 Cor. 7:10-11, where he says;
4/ “And unto the married I command, YET NOT I, BUT THE LORD, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.”
5/ Did you see that? He said, “yet not I but the Lord” referring to what the Lord said in Matt 19:6.
Scripturally, “let not man put asunder” means, Let not the wife depart from the marriage and let not the husband put away his wife”.
6/ And this is simply an admonition to both couples who are born again, believers to stay together in marriage.
This was God’s divine plan for marriage in the beginning before the fall of man as declared by Jesus in Matthew 19:7-8;👇
7/ "They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement&to put her away?
He saith unto them,Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered u to put away your wives:but from the beginning it was not so.
Divorce is not God’s best for marriage
8/ But when the heart of man became hardened through the deceitfulness of sin (Heb. 3:13) after the fall of man, Moses was permitted to introduce the law of divorce (Deut 24:1-4) because man with a sinful nature (hardened heart) cannot fulfil God’s ideal marriage.
9/ Consequently, the Old Testament believers were allowed to marry more than one wives. But under the NT it's one man, one wife. It’s two that shall become one flesh and not three or four.
Christ came to restore that which Adam lost and much more.
10/ And even at this, God knowing that it still won’t be easy for some believers, who most times will walk after the flesh, permitted separation, which is different from divorce👇
“BUT AND IF SHE DEPART, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband:” 1Cor.7:11
11/ Applying this instruction of separation to challenged couples who are believers, would have saved many untimely deaths due to marital crisis.
The essence is to give them time to reconsider their actions, prayerfully commit themselves to God afresh and allow
12/ the Holy Spirit in them to release God’s love in their heart to forgive and listen to the brethren who are trying to resolve the issue.
Or it will expose the spouse that isn’t truly born again (unbeliever) and therefore, set loose the believing spouse from the bond.
13/ The greatest challenge here is that everyone who goes to Church now claims to be a believer, which is not true.
14/ But If the husband is a believer& is guilty of 1 Tim5:8 or the husband or wife becomes culpable of Matt 18:15-17, then they can be treated as an unbeliever and the believing spouse is loosed from the marriage & free to remarry (only in the Lord) according to 1 Cor 7:12,13,15.
15/ Similarly, 1 Cor 7vs 27-28 says, "Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou LOOSED from a wife? seek not a wife. But and if thou marry, THOU HAST NOT SINNED".
16/ In conclusion, at what stage should a professed believing spouse be taken as “worse than an infidel" or be treated as an heathen, and the believer partner be loosed from the marriage vows?
17/ That will be our next discourse because a woman may wake up one morning & want a divorce because the husband can not buy golden jewelries for her😀
The END !

Right now, I don't mind who thinks otherwise. I will share the truth on this subject henceforth, so that believers will be free from the bondage of misinterpretation of scriptures on marriage.
2/ The scripture that has been misunderstood most on divorce is Matthew 19:9,where Jesus SPEAKING TO THE JEWS said,"Whosoever shall put away his wife,except it be for fornication& shall marry another, committeth adultery&whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery."
3/ When u pick a verse out of context& interpret it independently of other related scriptures,u will surely end in error.
The rule to Bible interpretation is to always ask these questions;
•who is doing the speaking?
•to whom was it spoken to?
•What are they speaking about?
