"lol i’m the same age as you (born in october too!) and i still feel 23-24 because of the pandemic the age dysphoria (for lack of a better word) is SO real" - IT IS honestly and I feel so much more dependent than I did Pre-pandemic? Like I go... #tellonymtellonym.me/cataclymicevie…
Like I think the benefit of the pandemic is I’ve had so much time to write and cultivate that skill, but it’s not…a career? As much as I would want it to be.
And it’s not like I did nothing, I still did volunteer work and tutoring, but I ended up financially dependent for the first time since I was a teenager because I had a choice between taking on private student loan debt or spending my savings, and I spent my savings.
I’m lucky enough that I have a family that is willing to help me (letting me live with them while I study for the bar, cooking food for me to put in my freezer while I’m at school, etc), but if I didn’t I probably would’ve been forced to drop out. LOTS of people in my program did
Idk it’s rambling but it’s just interesting how the pandemic has kind of frozen a lot of us in time, unable to move forward even years later

Like even if there was any “over representation” of any form of queer media, it’s definitely NOT masc/femme Lesbian couples I promise
It’s soooooo interesting how everyone acts like all sapphic couples have to be femme x femme and all gay couples have to be masc x masc it’s almost like people who are gender nonconforming make y’all really insecure
republicans have a cock warming kink i guess because Trump's dick is permanently lodged down their throats
like i get that there are hateful people out there who are going to follow that rhetoric no matter what but like. he is physically repulsive to look at. he isn't smart. he literally eats nothing but mcdonald's because he thinks everyone wants to poison him.
like there are SOOO many politicians with the same fucking platform but you picked the one who literally looks like he has not washed his ass since he was dodging the draft in 1965
let me tell you i had my last counseling simulation today and i am WASTED as a lawyer i'm a COMEDIAN
we had to pick a model personal injury case to simulate based on a disney film, and I chose to be a restaurant customer from the movie Ratatouille
we had to go in pairs in front of the class and when i tell u i had them ROARING with laughter
my partner: and what happened after that
me: the food was so wonderful, i had to meet the chef--and do you know who they brought out?!
her: i--
me: a RAT!!!!
her: and then what
me: I fell from my chair, got a concussion, and the next thing I know I have a virus you can only get from being in contact with rats. they wouldn't even give me a refund!!!
her: why?
me: they'd have to refund everyone because the RAT MAKES ALL THE FOOD!!!
"hi evie! i am planning to go to uni soon and i am still confused on what i should go for. i saw that you're studying law (sorry if I'm wrong) and i was wonde..." - I am, I’m in my last year of law school! And it was a lot of things. All of m... #tellonymtellonym.me/cataclymicevie…
I would also say that law school should definitely not be your solution if you’re graduating from college with a liberal arts degree you don’t know what to do with. If you want easier, cheaper job security, take the MPRE and get your masters in something business related.
But as you can imagine, most lawyers are strong writers, which was another thing that drew me to the profession. It’s also not going to be like a masters program: it is professional school. Think the same level of intensity as medical school or a doctoral program.
You know, this is just me, but back when I was a new Danmei fan…if I encountered something I didn’t quite understand, I went out of my way to learn more about it from other people in that space. I didn’t attack the author or the genre itself.
Like I’m not gonna say the genre is perfect, no genre is, but labeling and attacking something when you haven’t taken the time to understand it from the perspective of the people who make it is wrong.
You notice it the most from younger anime fans getting into the genre and assuming it’s the same thing, and…it’s not.
Different culture, different context, and for better or for worse, anime has slowly become more catered to international audiences. Danmei is definitely not.
OKAY this is the thread where I’ll be posting my reactions as I read ERHA for the first time! 👍 I’ve read the first few chapters online already, but I decided to stop and wait for the book to come out! Here I go 🏃♂️
First off: the chapter titles sound like it’s always sunny in Philadelphia and I’m into it
Mo Ran: you know what! I don’t think I’m gonna cut Rong Jiu’s face off. I’m turning over a new leaf!
