Ok, Randi, since you decided to weigh in on foreign policy, let me educate you...🧵
While you were busy shutting down schools in 2020, @mikepompeo was busy meeting with Zelensky and making sure Russia didn't invade on our watch (spoiler alert: they didn't).

In June 2020, we pushed through $250 million in arms sales to Ukraine.
"Undermining Ukraine" you say?

We sanctioned hundreds of Russian individuals and entities for their malign activities. Biden wouldn't sanction Nord Stream II for over a year.

We gave Ukraine billions in security assistance (Javelins, not blankets).
ua.usembassy.gov/secretary-pomp…
In July 2020, you were screaming that re-opening schools would be "reckless, callous, and cruel".

Our kids lost the equivalent of six months of math learning and three months of reading because of your policies.
theguardian.com/us-news/2020/j…
In the fall of 2020, while you were holding kids' education hostage, @MikePompeo was helping usher in four unprecedented peace deals across the Middle East with the Abraham Accords.

There hadn't been any peace deals with Israel for 26 years. Did you know that?
Want to talk tyrants? Let's talk Iran. We imposed the strongest sanctions ever against the women-hating mullahs.

Biden spent 18 months trying to give sanctions relief to murderers like Mohsen Rezaei, responsible for killing 85 in the bombing of a Jewish Center in Argentina.
Biden wanted to give sanctions relief to guys like Gen. Hossein Dehghan, responsible for the Beirut Barracks bombing in 1983 that killed 241 U.S. Marines.

Under Biden's deal, he could come visit the United States on a visa. That sounds like helping tyrants to me.
And China's response to COVID seems a lot like your dream scenario for schools:

1. shut down indefinitely
2. preaching that America is racist
3. brainwashing children about socialism

You're doing the CCP's work: holding our schools and our students back.

1. The Iran talks appear to have fallen apart (again). This might be the final time unless the US and European diplomats are foolish enough to fall for this ruse yet again.

Americans should ask: how did this happen and who is at fault? Some answers: 🧵
2. This outcome was predictable from the moment we dropped sanctions and economic pressure while Iran advanced its nuclear enrichment.

We gave the Biden administration incredible leverage to start - Iran was on the brink of financial and political collapse.
3. Our leverage evaporated right away when Biden looked the other way at Iran’s oil sales to China.

As a result, their foreign currency reserves skyrocketed.

Over the next 13 days, I’m going to honor each of our brave service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the withdrawal of Afghanistan.
First is Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole L. Gee, from Roseville, CA.

Described as a radiant light in a dark world, she posted this picture a few days before her death, writing,

“I love my job.”
Nicole left behind her husband of 5 years, a fellow Marine, Jarod Gee. The two were stationed together prior to Nicole’s deployment.

🧵Two years ago, the U.S. killed Iranian terrorist mastermind Qassem Soleimani. A reminder of some of his greatest crimes:

1. Aided Assad's brutal killing of half a million Syrians.

2. Responsible for killing at least 603 U.S. servicemembers in Iraq and injuring thousands more.
3. Soleimani's hands were soaked with the blood of Iranians, Iraqis, and Muslims across the region. He personally directed military campaigns and proxies in Iraq and Yemen that caused death of thousands civilians and the suffering of millions more.
4. In Syria, Soleimani's forces helped Assad conduct over 6,000 attacks on civilians between 2011 and 2017.

That included 492 attacks against hospitals which killed at least 847 doctors and medics caring for wounded Syrians.

This is one of the most interesting articles I’ve read lately.

“But a legacy of the one-child policy, scrapped in 2016, is a dwindling number of women of childbearing age as well as a generation of only children who are less eager to marry and start a family.”
“Shandong province is known in China for sometimes extreme enforcement of birth restrictions, including a 1991 campaign in parts of the city of Liaocheng dubbed “Hundred Days, No Child.” A 2012 documentary by Hong Kong-based Phoenix Television…”
“…details how local officials, to make their birth data look better, forced women found to be pregnant to abortion centers, even if the baby was their first and allowed under the one-child policy.”

NEW: The Treasury Department has just issued guidance that allows governments, NGOs, and others to conduct business with the Taliban and the Haqqani Network (AKA al-Qaeda) in Afghanistan, ostensibly for humanitarian relief.

This is extremely dangerous - here's why: (1/5)
First, it legitimizes brutal organizations like the Taliban and the Haqqani Network, which is a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. These licenses will effectively end their isolation.

This while they are *actively* hunting down and killing our translators still TODAY.
Second, it sends the signal that if you take over enough territory with enough people in it, you too can gain legitimacy.

We never would have authorized transactions like this to ISIS. But here we are treating the Taliban and the Haqqanis with kid gloves.

Fascinating analysis from ⁦@SCClemons⁩ on how WH staffers undermined ⁦@JoeBiden⁩ ‘s desires to continue negotiations w/⁦@Sen_JoeManchin

“But then – bang! – the White House released a statement blaming Manchin for the delay… thehill.com/opinion/white-…
… It tried to strike a positive tone about the future, but it targeted Manchin specifically and alone.”
“When I saw Manchin’s name in the presidential statement, I knew he would perceive it as a breach of process, a breach of spirit, a breach of Joe and Joe working this out so that politicians from Scranton…could find a way to align with those from Brooklyn and San Francisco.”
