Day 22: cozy #ouizzy
Izzy heard some muffled knocking and then the yelling signaling Frenchie was here.
"Babe! Babe! Open up!"
Izzy pulled the door open to Frenchie holding more things than seemed possible.
A blanket fell from the top of the precarious tower onto Izzy's head
"Oops, sorry, but if you could grab some of this I'd appreciate it."
Izzy was weak to Frenchie's shit-eating grin.
"Alright...Give it here."
"Cheers m'dear!" Frenchie replied with a quick kiss to Izzy's cheek.
"What is all of this?"
"Well, first night in your new place so I figured you wouldn't really have unpacked anything, yet. And you're you, so I figured you'd also be stressed about that.
"So I thought I'd bring you some of your favorite things to cozy up with. So you can relax and actually enjoy your first night here."
Izzy was touched. Frenchie was the most thoughtful guy he'd ever dated, and he was still getting used to it.
He looked through the supplies he'd grabbed: that soft blanket he always claimed when they watched TV together at Frenchie's place. That vanilla black tea that reminded him of home. A DVD of Die Hard and a few bags of microwave kettle corn and a box of his favorite vegan cocoa.
"I...thank you, Frenchie. You didn't have to do this."
"I know, I wanted to. Wanted to be here to help out and force you to take it easy at some point, too. Brought a few other things to help you relax later as well."
Frenchie winked so ridiculously at him, Izzy had to laugh.
"Okay, well I'll give you the tour then put you to work."
----
They worked well as a pair, moving furniture, opening boxes and putting things in their new homes. After a couple hours, Frenchie insisted they take a lunch break and unloaded the cooler he'd also brought.
Apples, hummus and the good chips, green juice and some pre-cut veggies. Frenchie wasn't vegan, but he always ate what Izzy did when they were together. He didn't make a big deal out of having to give meat up around him.
Izzy wouldn't ask that of him, never asked his prior boyfriends either. Frenchie just did it. Accepted this was part of Izzy and chose to embrace it. Like so many other things.
They laid out the blanket and ate their lunch picnic style in Izzy's new living room.
Frenchie was so easy to be around. He was like the sun drying out the rain that Izzy usually drowned in. Izzy was feeling a little overwhelmed and wasn't up for talking, and Frenchie just accepted that too, so they ate their lunch in companionable silence.
After the break, they got back to unpacking. They split up, Izzy to work on his bedroom and Frenchie tackled the living room. Frenchie started singing as he worked, his tones drifting to Izzy's room keeping him company and motivated to get at least this room mostly livable today.
When Izzy deemed it done enough, he went out and found Frenchie finishing setting up his TV.
"I think I'm done for today. You want to watch the movie?"
"Of course!"
They made the popcorn and the cocoa and cozied up on the couch sharing the blanket.
At some point Izzy fell asleep with his head lolling on Frenchie's shoulder. He woke to Frenchie smiling at him fondly.
"Will you stay?" Izzy asked, wanting to make sure he wasn't asking too much.
"Yeah, wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
Izzy shook his head, but couldn't keep the smile off his face.
"C'mon you cheese bastard, take me to bed."
#noangstnov Day 24: date night #steddyhands
Izzy's turn to pick a date night activity for the trio and he's feeling unsure what to do
It was Izzy's turn to plan date night, and he was...not feeling great about that. They'd gotten into a groove with them. Stede usually picked something cultural like a play or museum. Ed something fun and make-out friendly like the drive-in.
And Izzy usually opted for a night in and a homemade dinner.
Izzy worried it (and he) was too boring for his partners.
He isn't flashy and fancy like Stede. He isn't fun and flirty like Ed. Izzy is just...Izzy.
Stede opened the door to the flat and gasped in awe. The lights were out and candles were sitting lit on every surface, casting a warm glow on the space.
"Darling?" Stede called out.
Who should be darling?
Ed came out wearing one of Stede's saucier robes holding two wine glasses.
"What's all this for, Dear?"
Stede was running through all the possible occasions in his head. It wasn't one of their birthdays. Not their anniversary. Neither of the days they met.
Edward Teach had a lot of regrets. Big ones, small ones and every size in between. He knew he couldn't fix any of those mistakes. And he wouldn't given the choice. His past was set, and all of it led him to Stede.
Finding Stede was worth all the regret, all the torment.
But he could try and make amends. Slowly, carefully he thought through his crimes and he made a list.
First was Fang.
-----
The puppy was cute; small, pink and piggish. The mother had been one of those hairless beasts and the father a fancy English toy that had sewed its oats all over the island. It was scruffy and more friendly than was smart.
The trip is a disaster from the start. Stede packs two suitcases for the weekend "just in case" and Ed's in a sour mood because "nature is gross."
Izzy had been planning a solo trip, but Stede had asked to go and he'd been too weak to argue. He knew Stede would hate camping the way Izzy liked. And where Stede went, Ed followed these days, and Ed would absolutely hate it.
The plan had been to leave Friday morning by 9, but Ed had slept in and then Stede insisted they needed to eat a full breakfast before hitting the road. So they didn't get in the car until noon.
"Israel, darling, what are you doing?"
Izzy rolled his eyes, but didn't respond.
Stede slapped his cheek.
"I asked you a question."
Izzy started to mumble a response, but Stede slapped him again.
"Don't talk with your mouth full."
Izzy released Stede's cock with an obscene slurp.
"What the fuck does it look like?"
He leaned in to suck Stede's prick back in his mouth, but Stede stopped him.
"I know what it looks like, Darling. You look fantastic on your knees like this. Doesn't he, Sweetness?"
Ed nodded from the chair across from them, eyes wide.
"You two look so hot like that. Could watch you all day."
"Thank you, Dear," Stede responded with a saccharine look to Ed. He looked back down to Izzy with his slack jaw, and flushed cheeks. His expression was utterly fond.

Day 19: comfort
It's too bloody cold.
Izzy hasn't seen his breathe in the air since he left England, and he hasn't missed it.
Any skin touching the frigid air burns and he can't help shaking, his body reminding him that staying still means death.
Most of the crew has hidden below, huddling together to share their meagre warmth and ample supply of rum. Izzy curses them for hiding and himself for not joining them.
The only person seemingly unaffected is Buttons, and after sailing with the odd man for months, Izzy isn't surprised.
He motions to Izzy, indicating he has the ship handled for now. Izzy heads below, ready to shiver through the night in his cot.
