Kanye could create problems for Trump because Trump insists on branding himself as an outsider, anti-establishment figure but Kanye would have a greater claim to that title at this point *and* he's willing to talk J6 pardons, which seems to make Trump uncomfortable

It’s true Trump recently said he would consider pardons but Kanye’s question was why hadn’t he done it *before* although it was considered

Apart from the Huey Long angle that I mention, there is also a kind of Caldwellian aspect to this: the federal civil rights regime has the ability to infringe on things otherwise reserved to the states.

The NYT smeared Chris Rufo as having the blood of Colorado on his hands *just after* publishing a mildly critical piece on "transgender youth."

People thought the NYT piece indicated the woke fever was breaking on transgenderism. That was a misunderstanding, because... 1/
... the intended audience of articles like this is the Good Liberal who supports everything right up to castrating little boys but perhaps feels some reluctance to administer the knife.

You are not their target audience. They still hate you. They will always portray you as murderous and vicious every opportunity they get. They just want the process of transitioning kids to be safer. But they aren't "coming around." 3/
