Kanye could create problems for Trump because Trump insists on branding himself as an outsider, anti-establishment figure but Kanye would have a greater claim to that title at this point *and* he's willing to talk J6 pardons, which seems to make Trump uncomfortable
People are calling Kanye 2024 an op. It could be. Nevertheless, Kanye is putting pressure on Trump from the right here timcast.com/news/exclusive…
This isn’t an endorsement of Kanye, it’s an observation
It’s true Trump recently said he would consider pardons but Kanye’s question was why hadn’t he done it *before* although it was considered

I heard about it from people in the WH back then too

politico.com/amp/news/2022/…
No, Kanye can’t win and I don’t see why anyone would think he could. But he can clearly make a mess of things

Ahead of midterms, Biden's DOJ said it would monitor "compliance with the federal voting rights laws" in key states. Florida's Department of State replied by saying "federal law enforcement" wouldn't be allowed inside state polling places. This is the way. chroniclesmagazine.org/web/florida-ch…
Whether embracing ballot harvesting or physically preventing federal hall monitors access to polling places under the pretext of safeguarding "civil rights," Republicans must do more than merely asking people to vote in person on the day of an election and hope for the best.
Apart from the Huey Long angle that I mention, there is also a kind of Caldwellian aspect to this: the federal civil rights regime has the ability to infringe on things otherwise reserved to the states.

The NYT smeared Chris Rufo as having the blood of Colorado on his hands *just after* publishing a mildly critical piece on "transgender youth."

People thought the NYT piece indicated the woke fever was breaking on transgenderism. That was a misunderstanding, because... 1/
... the intended audience of articles like this is the Good Liberal who supports everything right up to castrating little boys but perhaps feels some reluctance to administer the knife.

But it's absolutely not the conservative, the right-winger. 2/ nytimes.com/2022/11/14/hea…
You are not their target audience. They still hate you. They will always portray you as murderous and vicious every opportunity they get. They just want the process of transitioning kids to be safer. But they aren't "coming around." 3/

The US alliance system is plagued by “Trojan Alliances,” in which smaller states (like Ukraine) collude with the US foreign policy establishment to goad America into never-ending and open-ended commitments abroad. New pod with @ArtaMoeini and @polanskydj: contra.substack.com/p/rethinking-t…
Arta Moeini is research director at the Institute for Peace (IPD) and Diplomacy, and David Polansky is a research fellow at the institute. They are two very smart guys you need to be listening to on foreign policy.
We dive into their latest study in this episode, which argues that it’s time to fundamentally change the way we think about the US-led alliance system. They go beyond even the conventional realist critiques. peacediplomacy.org/2022/09/16/tow…

Today, @approject published my report on the ideology and interests behind transgenderism. The amount of money involved is staggering; the number of powerful individuals involved is many and includes Republicans and Democrats🧵1/ americanprinciplesproject.org/media/new-app-…
My report is a broad but concise overview of the issue based on five Ws and one H: who, what, when, where, why, and how. The sheer immensity of what I call the “transgender leviathan” is, in some ways, unprecedented relative to the size of the group it claims to represent. 2/
There are so many PACs and NGOs and donors involved that it might be easier to create a list of power entities that aren’t involved. This is not an exhaustive report, but it does provide a snapshot of the problem. 3/
