Anyone fascinated by @Graham__Hancock ‘s excellent Netflix series #AncientApocolypse would be wise to look at the works of Norwegian ethnographer and explorer Thor Hyerdahl.
Thor encountered the same resistance to scientific paradigm expansion. His Kon Tiki voyage silenced midwit doubters for a time. He went on to explore ancient ocean routes (and prove them possible) and explore megalithic structures in Peru, the Maldives, Easter Island and more
His book Early Man and the Ocean suggests a seagoing civilization spreading technology across the globe, in the same vein as #AncientApocolypse
His final subject was research and expeditions into the ancestral land of the Scandinavians. He looked first at Azerbaijan, before switching his hypothesis to Asov, Russia. His book on the subject has never been translated from Norwegian.
Men such as Thor, Heyerdahl, and @Graham__Hancock remind us of the great curiosity and sense of adventure, that motivates all great discovery. How many more mysteries are waiting to be solved? And who is brave enough to ignore the braying of the “settled science” crowd?
