1/ Want to share with you all a story on how far the conservative brain cancer has spread.

This is going to be an amusing tale the Disney movie #strangeworlds, unchecked harassment on Elon's Twitter and THESE FREAKS and their obsession with gay people and children's movies.
2/ So, I'm married to a FOUR TIME Hugo award winner, @thefrankwu. He runs a fan page for a legendary sci-fi artist, Frank R. Paul who defined the look of sci-fi.

So, when Disney announced a movie in this style, I knew he'd want to see it. And we did.
3/ In the meanwhile, Disney FIRES Bob Chapek. Why? Because of poor strategy and also because of his unwillingness to fight back against these conservative freaks turning Disney movies into a cultural war zone.

4/ Remember, Bob Chapek did NOTHING about Ron DeSantis and his "Don't say gay" bill. He buried Lightyear because of a half-second peck on the cheek by a lesbian couple, and predictably, he also did NO PROMOTION of #strangeworld - dooming it to bomb.
5/ Basically, he's destroying Disney to satisfy the conservative freak show with a bizarre sexual fixation on children's movies.

So, there I am on opening night. I don't particularly ever watch children's movies - but I'm there for the cool sci-fi aesthetic.
6/ As I'm watching it, I not #strangeworld has a lot of diverse representation. I know it's going to turn into the next #lightyear. I send this Tweet after the movie.

And a bunch of conservative nutcase media covers my Tweet. YouTube, articles, high follower Twitter accounts.
7/ So, for the last week, anytime I post ANYTHING. Thanksgiving, speedrunning. My dog. I have these conservative sexual freaks obsessed with children's movies in my mentions.

"Durka durr - #strangeworld bombed. I hate gay people (Fart noise)"
8/ So, two things.

A. I'm an adult. I don't have kids. You are drastically overestimating my emotional investment in #strangeworld.

But more important is B. You guys are indistinguishable from the Zombies in 28 Days Later. The conservative mind virus has killed you.
9/ The war zone in my mentions over a children's movie there's no conservative ideology anymore beyond hating minorities. Your fixation on children is very strange.

Write a fucking article about that, ya freaks. #strangeworld

Great question. Let me answer it with a 🧵, and explain why Twitter is on a collision course.

One example is the EUs GDPR. It is not well written at all, but it still has to be complied with, which is why all major tech companies have sprawling divisions to deal with it.
2/ The thoughtless mass layoffs at Twitter basically guarantee they are out of compliance with these poorly written, unclear rules. @TechCrunch had a great piece looking at the situation.

All the top people ensuring compliance with GDPR quit.

3/ They are in a special category called, “One Stop Shop” which eases some of their regulatory burden.

Highly unlikely they will keep that exemption.

Let me give you a great example of something Twitter might be forced to comply with if they crash out.

Hi. I’m been an Apple pundit for a decade. Elno’s latest war against (spins wheel) Apple contains quite a few distortions which make this functionally a lie.

2/ First of all, Apple would not get 30 percent of a Twitter Blue subscription. They would get 15 percent after 12 months.

This has been the case for a long time. Small app developers fought for this change. Ironic a billionaire is now profiting from it.

3/ Secondly, the wider argument Elno wants to pick with Apple about their rules not allowing apps with unmoderated hate speech is not new.

This has been the case in the App Store since Steve Jobs was alive. Many people, myself included, believe he wrote them himself.

Good morning.

Elno’s fringe right clown show 🤡continues to tank the Tesla stock price, the thing that gives him power.

I thought the bleeding would stop when the stock price was HALVED. Instead, it’s plummeting to $150.

Here’s what you need to know.
2/ Tesla’s old stock price made it worth more than every car company on earth combined, despite barely ever being profitable and having a tiny percentage of sales compared to a GM.

Even at this plummeted price, it is still wildly overvalued in my opinion.

Let’s unpack why.
3/ Tesla stock is priced so wildly above P/E because it’s assumed it will eventually dominate the entire auto world with battery and FSD technology.

Given the management shown in the last month, does that strike you as likely?

There’s one source here. The defense attorney. Considering that
A. They’re being charged with a hate crime, which requires anti-LGBT motivation and
B. They are related to an elected official who is an insurrectionist and election denier

You’ll have to forgive my skepticism.
2/ Seems like a convenient way to cause shitshow in media and save this person’s ass.

Unlike binary trans people, there’s probably no corroborating medical history.

Again, maybe it’s too cynical - but it’s hard for me to believe anything these people say at face value anymore.
3/ TLDR: Report it out and I’ll believe it.

This is exactly right.

In addition to massive infrastructure costs to run the site, Twitter has between $1 billion to $1.7 billion IN INTEREST ALONE to pay every year or the site is owned by the banks.

How can Elno keep it going, much less build any new features?
2/ Additionally, I would posit that there’s a massive difference in running a massive site like Twitter with a legacy codebase and being a startup where you can run it with a small team.

Musk seems like he’s bringing the startup mentality to running this place.
3/ To my mind, this is the most likely future of Twitter.

It’s going to degrade. It will be slower. Mass hacks will happen.

All the while, Musk will offer grand visions of the Twitter 2.0 that’s just around the corner! None of it will ever ship.

Good evening.

Elno fucked this one all the way up. Expect Twitter to crash eminently. He demanded Twitter employees swear loyalty to him or quit.

Reports are that as many as 80 percent of them on mission critical teams did.

Here are the highlights.

2/ The number of engineers tending to multiple critical systems is literally zero in some cases.

This means a major system crash is inevitable. It’s unclear how the system could even be restarted when it breaks.
3/ It’s reported that all access to buildings are cut.

The theory is that Elno is convinced people inside Twitter are going to sabotage the company on the way out.

Seems like he’s got that covered.
