Google self-preferences its own products. All the big tech giants do. This reduces competition, makes the playing field unfair for startups

Consumers lose because of lack of choice

But as @jeremys notes, Google's path up was protected by fair play protections in the late 90's
@jeremys We only have this lame duck session in DC to get #AICOA #S2992 and #OMOA #S2710 to the floor.

We need your help.

Please support S2992, the American Innovation and Choice Online Act — Sign and send a note to your senators now— resist.bot/petitions/PALV…
If you live in New York State, call your Senator Chuck Schumer: (202) 224-6542 and tell them you demand they bring S2992 and S2710 to the floor. Tell them this is the LAST CHANCE we have to get any meaningful anti-trust legislation done for years, because that's the truth.
Real antitrust regulation is ready to pass. It'll save a generaton of startups.

A bipartisan super-majority of congresspeople who wants it in voted on in the lame duck session, and so does President Biden, and that there are 60 votes to pass it.

Tell @chuckschumer we are all waiting for the vote. This bill will pass with a bipartisan supermajority. This session is the last chance to get it done.

Does Congress want reign in big tech or do they merely want credit for lip service?

Open and free markets depend on it.
President Biden’s team told us they believed are 60 votes to pass in the Senate.

We cornered Republican Senator Grassley at the Senate elevators yesterday—he said he had 20 votes and to tell @chuckschumer to bring it to the floor.

We need the vote now

Just in: The White House confirms getting @amyklobuchar and @ChuckGrassley’s #AICOA bill on the floor for a bipartisan vote is a priority for the lame duck session before the end of the year!

Tuesday election results in SF were deeply affected by the rise of highly engaged Asian American voters, angered by a political machine that ignores them

Ironically and predictably also ignored by the SF Chronicle
At @JoelEngardio’s victory party Tuesday, I spoke to so many highly engaged working middle income Asian American parents: the generation taking care of both children and elders

We are fighting for our families
These are working parents that don’t have extra $ for nannies like the Pac Heights set, nor the long stretches of unending leisure hours that the childless activists have.

They are the real people power because this is not luxury beliefs for them.

It’s standing up as a people

In 1996, film photography revenues at Fujifilm were strong but digital cameras were still struggling.

But to believe the status quo will last forever because the getting is still good now is always a big mistake.

The only constant is change. twitter.com/i/web/status/1… ImageImage
As revenue from film photography nosedived from the 2000 all-time peak, Fujifilm CEO Shigetaka Komori took big steps to make sure everyone knew the severity of the situation.

No hiding from the task at hand. This was 2004. There was a much longer way down from there: 10X down. ImageImage
Creating new innovative products is a choice. Fujifilm did it by 8% of net sales on R&D.

Meta is currently spending 34% of gross profit.

There are clearly levels to this. Image

You are the rider, seeking adventure on your trusty horse. Your consciousness is linked to a subconscious at times inaccessible to you.

But integrating that subconscious: the rider and the horse in synthesis, is the key to reprogramming your mindset.

As a programmer: I think self-work is about turning a deterministic process that you wouldn’t have access to normally, and being able to place strategic if-statements that allow you to make more intentional choices. Image
Jung says: “No one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.” Image

Gordon Mar is allies with the hard left Chinese Progressives Organization.

These days this organization works against the interests of Chinese Americans.

They also support SF hard left machine candidate Honey Mahogany.

This same group “builds capacity.”

Translation: gets paid by our SF taxpayer money, even for totally unrelated causes like Stop Asian Hate.

This money then gets funneled to pay off politician’s mistresses.
Groups like SF Rising use taxpayer money to pay a large workforce that turns around and benefits the worst cronies of the hard left machine

Rippling is now live in 50 countries in the world *including payroll*— Impressive work @parkerconrad & team!

The world just got smaller for every business because now you can hire, manage and pay people in a lot more places in the world.

rippling.com/blog/introduci…
@parkerconrad There are seemingly many “global payroll” and “Employer of Record (EOR)” companies out there – but they are all faking it. They are actually “payroll aggregators” – behind the scenes, they’re subcontracting out payroll to dozens of local vendors in individual countries!
There are tons of reasons faking "Employer of Record" and "global payroll" is bad for you as a customer:

slow, error-prone, and ultimately these middlemen are just outsourcing the work you need with bad quality control
