We don't care about your background, we have had high school students writing assembly.
FFmpeg is open source software that powers all online video (Youtube, Facebook, Disney+, etc), it's shipped in web browsers (Chrome, Firefox etc) and countless other applications involving video.
And written largely by volunteers in their spare time.
