So the @ChtyCommission has launched a statutory inquiry into Mermaids.

A thread of some of the things it may consider.
Will it start with how they hired as CEO a mother who took her son to be castrated in Thailand at the age of 16 because his dad didn't approve of having an effeminate little boy?…
And how it encouraged other parents to undertake such medical tourism…
Will it look at Mermaids relationship with the Tavistock Clinic, as raised by Sonia Appleby, David Bell, Marcus Bell and the other whistleblowers?……
And presented in parliamentary evidence…
And open letters…
Will it look at Mermaids' involvement in the case where a 7-year-old child was removed from the custody of his mother after the court found that the child had been essentially groomed into a transgender identity…
Will it look at Mermaids relationship with GenderGP and Helen Webberley?
Will it look at the data breach where they allowed
780 pages of confidential emails to be viewable online for nearly three years. This led to personal information, such as names and email addresses, of 550 people being searchable online.…
And then the difference between what they told the public and the families affected?

Will it look at the difference between what it told the National Lottery about not lobbying to medicalise children and what it did in practice?

Will it look at the things it told the National Lottery it would do, and whether it did them?

Will it look at its relationship with the EHRC ? And how it promoted the suicide narrative and extreme social transition?…
And then told families and schools to ignore the EHRC when recognised that single sex spaces are lawful and legitimate?…
Will it look at their views on the protected characteristic of belief and whether people with gender critical beliefs should be protected against belief discrimination…
And how it pressured Hodder Law to remove coverage of the Harry Miller case from an A level text book?…
Will it listen to the Mermaids' podcasts?…
Will it look at went on on Mermaids' online forums?…
Will it look at giving breast binders to children behind parents backs?…
Will it look at Mermaids' disturbing adult fundraising events ?
Will it look at its BDSM drag queen calendar fundraiser?…
Will it look at its "they are attacking us" fundraiser?
Will it look at this - with Starbucks?
Will it look at the whole Darren Mew affair?…
Will it look at the whole Jacob Breslow affair?
Will it look at its involvement int getting a conference involving Helen Joyce and Stephanie Davies Arai cancelled at Great Ormond St ?…
Will it look at the safeguarding decisions that went into this partnership?
Will it consider the decision-making that went into bringing a case against the charity commission over LGB Alliance?
Will it consider reporting of Caroline Farrow and Kellie-Jay Keen to the police?……
Will they listen to the recording of their schools training?…

The Good Law Project is here to do feminism for you 🙄… Image
You know, the Good Law Project that thinks that men who say they are women are less of a threat than other men, and women who say they are men don't need the same protection as other women.… Image
But hey, let's get the government to distribute massive amounts of disposable personal protective wear

(didn't the Good Law Project just work out that government are not good at this?) Image

Turkeys voting for Xmas

@WEP_UK passed their self-ID motion today (with all of 138 votes).

They didn't even bother to get the law right in the motion

*They are exceptions, not exemptions and they are in Schedule III Part 7*

3 ex-WEP members write "Fighting for the soul of WEP is like fighting with the man who keeps punching you in the face as he screams ‘look what you made me do’"…

Remember: the Government's own research study found no new published evidence on this from the UK.

If the "entire British medical community" is agreeing with Stonewall on this, it is entirely political: it is doing so with *no evidence*.
It s a scandal that so many medical schools have signed up to the thought defying GLAAD charter…
The recommendations of the Scottish Government's "Expert Advisory Group on Ending Conversion Practices" are chilling…

Rooted in the idea of gender identity

Misogyny 101: Disdain for mothers

Things I say rarely get commented on by Owen Jones, Billy Bragg, Robin Moira White etc.. but the library rhyme time scheme really seemed to hit a nerve with these people and the hoards of TRA/MRA trolls who are playing it for lols.
A bunch of people have jumped on me saying I am criticising a book. Just to be clear: this isn’t a book (people can write crappy books with ugly cartoon characters if they want). This is about a public library scheme for parents (mainly mothers) and toddlers.
My concerns (following a message from a mum who said it felt ideological, creepy and gaslighting) were:
1. It is promoting gender ideology (non-binary, they/them pronouns) to children
2. It is excluding parents (mainly mothers) who don’t want this.
