Goh is more important to Satoshi than Goh himself thinks.
In the preview, Goh says, “I want to go on a trip. He’ll tell me to go for it. I know what he’s like". Goh expects Satoshi to let him go easily. What if things don't go as Goh expects? 🧵↓
If you think about it, Goh is the first character _designed_ to be Satoshi's best friend. Satoshi had companions close to him before, but this is the first such character. Their connection and meeting is very special not only for Goh, but also for Satoshi. ↓
Goh had no friends as a child other than Koharu. But don’t forget that Satoshi also had no friends in childhood, except for Shigeru (who became a rival at some point). ↓
And in many of his songs, Satoshi sings about how he is “not alone anymore”, and he also directly said that he don’t like being alone, which suggests that he faced this. ↓
Goh’s parents also worked a lot, and he often spent time alone, but this also applies to Satoshi: Hanako is a single mother, and she had to work hard running the Pallet House inn-restaurant to raise her son. ↓
They both experienced it. Satoshi and Goh were destined to meet not only because of Goh, but because they BOTH needed it. While it’s obvious how important Satoshi is to Goh, it should not be forgotten how important Goh is to Satoshi. ↓
Satoshi tends to let others go for their own goals, he’s experienced in it, and ofc Goh knows about this (he is the first companion to talk about this btw). But that doesn't mean it's easy for Satoshi, so it’s intriguing how unexpectedly this could play out in the next episode.
Just in case: I’m not trying to say that Satoshi will FORCE Goh to stay or hinder his goals, no, he would never do that. What I'm trying to say is that it might not be as easy for Satoshi as Goh thinks. So who knows, things might turn out in unexpected for both eventually.
