Ep 2 #NayeSails: Action! So much action! So many moving pieces! Lots of very smart, very desperate characters. Lots of full frontal to prove this is an ADULT pirate show, so there. As I've got a couple of decades of One Piece in my heart, the "Pirate King" thing makes me giggle.

#NayeSails #3: Well that sure was an episode of T&A & sexual assault. 😬 (Don't worry, I've been warned.) Am getting very curious about the various characters' interpersonal relationships. There's a LOT going on, and I do love that. Pirate politics!

#NayeSails #4 Have learned pirates need better workplace health & safety! And maybe a cook who doesn't serve raw pork. 😬 Also wow, so much double crossing and lying and conniving! Good stuff.

#NayeSails Haha haaa most of the pirating stuff I can't look straight up bc I'm easily squicked by violence, so between that and not wanting to look at the sexual violence I'm spending quite a bit of this episode on my phone! (It's all VERY well done, which is the whole problem.)

#NayeSails I really did not need to see that many dicks. 😬 And I am way, way too ace for their sex scenes (I can't tell if they're supposed to be hot, I really can't). The plot is gripping, but I'm not finding myself rooting for anyone. I assume those feelings will come!

So I'm tweeting my Black Sails reactions on a 1st, completely unspoiled watch. I love the enthusiasm from people who've seen the show before, but PLEASE don't tell me about anything that happens later on! Not who lives, not whose character arc goes where. I love being unspoiled.

#NayeSails DAAAAMN full reveal of everything that went down in London was SO SATISFYING. Also the first time the show has had intimacy on screen that felt warm and genuine and not meant to titillate.

#NayeSails Wow okay so many moving pieces (the fort, Abigail, various allegiances and alliances, murder) SO MUCH STRESS. It's telling that Jack ripping some guy's throat open (gross, I hid) felt like a bit of nice relief from the tension of all the talking and sneaking about. 😅

#NayeSails OH Billy is being good and loyal! And there are definitely people plotting murder because of it. Eleanor escaping with Abigail was 300% more stressful than I can handle, and uhhh I am WORRIED about that's going to go. Meanwhile: interesting Anne character development.

#NayeSails "We all die alone" would've been a great/terrifying cliffhanger - I'm a little sad they didn't leave us hanging with GHOST SHIP, but at the same time there was so much episode! So many things going on! Like... suddenly I'm appreciating Vane? Shock.

#NayeSails I also get why we got a few months' time skip, but damn I would've liked to see the confrontation over the gold, because the fact that everyone survived THAT... I can't even imagine. And now: gold, what is it worth if you can't use it? Hmm.

#NayeSails Ever since reading adventure novels as a kid I've been low key terrified of the concept of being on a becalmed sail ship. Seeing the Walrus in the doldrums is confirming exactly how terrifying that situation is and I do NOT like it, it's far too stressful and awful.

#NayeSails Another excellent speech: the one Vane shared with the Spanish sailor he duelled. I loved "don't you hate how money makes sheep of us all". Such a poignant scene, highlighting how capitalism & Empire fucks ppl over. Made me cheer when Flint said they were getting Vane!
