Nazi Germany used propaganda to convince its public they are superior and demean other groups and races of people. In 2022 the sports media are purposefully using their platform to glorify in Messi while disrespecting and belittling Cristiano Ronaldo at every opportunity.
I've seen people who barely follow football say things like 'I hope Messi wins the WC' and even the so called experts are fooled into believing LM has always delivered for his country. Last night the BBC spent 85% of their post-match coverage on Messi. The bias is unbelievable.

Ronaldo had a poor game against Korea, I admit that. However he has performed reasonably well and made important contributions. The media, though, would make you believe he has been one of the worst players at the tournament. The disrespect he has received has been shocking.
As I stated, CR has been relatively good overall. Yet flocks of pundits and journalists have disrespected him very badly. From how he's harming the team negativity, to being a distraction, to even gloating and mocking how he'll miss Portugal's 5th penalty against Switzerland.
Unfortunately people are too brainwashed or too docile to see what is really happening. Throughout the summer the media linked him with a number of clubs without any substance then claimed they rejected him. They're purposely trying to belittle CR. The same will happen in January
Even the manager of Man Utd mistreated and disrespected CR countless times (hence my thread), which is yet another thing Messi will never have to endure. One is the most criticised and hated, the other being the most protected and adored. It's absolutely crystal clear.
I see too often players wanting to take selfies and exchange shirts with Messi than wanting to compete and win for their club/country. Again, the propaganda is a big part to blame. It affects the referees too. Of course this makes me and millions of others incredibly frustrated.
When Messi plays badly, the team let him down. When he plays good - nonstop praise. For Rio Ferdinand to suggest he has been by far the best player at the tournament is an insult to the likes of Mbappé and many others who have undoubtedly been better. This is a campaign.
With all things considered, if Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal win the WC it would be the greatest sporting triumph of all-time. Messi has everything in his favour (football mafia) to win. After everything CR has been through this year, it would be indescribable.
I respect Messi greatly but all of the above and a lot more makes me feel no affection. I have seen the light. One day history will not be kind to those - and there are many, who tried to destroy the legacy and greatness of Cristiano Ronaldo.
