#soukoku /NSFW/ cab driver Dazai/ passenger Chuuya AU

Dazai was relaxing inside the car, scrolling through the news on his phone, desinterested. After rejecting 3 ride requests, the app notified a new one, right in front of him.

He looked up, and that's when he saw /him/+
Vibrant ginger hair, bright as if it was made of gold. The young man was short, very well dressed, with expensive clothes and nice shoes, too fancy for a daily outfit. He was covering the phone from the sunlight, trying to see the screen.

"Beautiful" Was the first thought
that crossed Dazai's mind.

He accepted the request wondering if it had come from the boy and couldn't hold back a smirk when he saw the profile picture confirming it.

His unmistakable features and oh, what gorgeous blue eyes he had.

/Nakahara Chuuya/ Even his name was lovely.
Getting the car started Dazai approached him.

"Nakahara-san?" He asked politely rolling down the window.

Chuuya looked at him, then at his phone, then the car. Without replying anything, he opened the door making himself comfortable on the backseat.

The ride's first minutes
were silent, and the brunet took it as an opportunity to study the boy through the mirror. He looked nervous, excited, constantly checking his phone and sighing from time to time.

"Long day?" Dazai asked casually, trying to make conversation after he heard another sigh.
"Uh? No, not really" Chuuya replied sympathetically "It's holidays now. I'm going to meet a friend..." A shy smile.

And that was enough for Dazai's big brain to connect the dots.
A pretty boy.
Holidays.
Fancy clothes.
Nervous.
On his way to meet a "friend".

It sounded more
like "going out on a date but this is none of your business".

"Hmm..." He replied a bit disappointed but still interested "I hope they are a good friend to you"

"Yea, I hope so too. It's my first time meeting them" Chuuya checked his phone screen again. 2:44pm.

That wasn't
the first time meeting only that one person, but also his first time meeting someone from a /dating app/.

He was never into this kind of stuff, but after leaving a fucked up 2 years relationship, his closest friend, Albatross, had downloaded that stupid app in his phone,
where he got a match from a cute guy he'd been talking for almost 2 weeks.

They got along well, but Chuuya was anxious now that they were about to meet. He didn't want anything to go wrong. God.. He just wanted to move on from his toxic ex and the traumas.

"Well, have fun then"
Chuuya didn't notice but Dazai was absorbing his expressions entirely. "Be nice to them. They say /short/ people usually are very reliable but short tempered as well" He chuckled already predicting an exalted reaction.

"Excuse me?"

Chuya looked at him through the mirror,
incredulous. But Dazai was too busy paying attention to the streets, as he should. Or so Chuuya thought.

"You speak as if you were /that/ tall" He said dryly although he didn't really /know/ the driver's height.

Not getting an answer right away, he started scanning the man in
front of him, noticing his long legs. Then his long arms, wrapped in bandages - weird - and the hands with long fingers firmly gripping the steering wheel. "Hot". He had broad shoulders, a long neck and dark brown hair that seemed very soft to the /touch/.

When he looked at the
mirror again, their eyes met for the first time.

The driver was /staring/ at him, deeply, intensely, like a hunter cornering their prey.

The redhead was used to have people complimenting his exotic looks, fascinated, but not people looking at him like /that/.

He had always
considered himself confident and even so, couldn't avoid averting his gaze, flustered.

"I /am/ tall" Dazai finally replied "But this isn't always nice, you know? I wouldn't mind being shorter"

"Is that so..." Chuuya said still a bit offended.

"Yes. Forgive me, Nakahara-san, it
was a rude joke. You look /great/ as you are" Dazai said emphasizely.

Hearing that, he felt a little embarrassed, but more relaxed. Why should he let a random - handsome - cab driver ruin his good mood?

"Chuuya" He said "Just Chuuya is fine. I don't like these formalities"
Their eyes met again. This time, the driver expressed a soft look.

"Alright then... Chuuya" Dazai smirked tasting the name in his tongue. He made sure to pronounce it with the most provocative voice, capturing the way the boy in the back stiffened and looked away.

Their chat
proceeded comfotably for the next 15 minutes, it was a good time. Chuuya was talkative and the brunet was pleased with his smart conversation.

He dropped the ginger at a cafe and followed his silhouette with focused eyes till he entered the place.

Dazai didn't really want to
leave. He felt some excitement growing inside of him along with curiosity and and it had been a while since something, /someone/ had interested him like Chuuya did.

Any other passenger would be just as boring as ever,so he let himself be controlled by the urge to make the return
and park in the corner.

He didn't even know if Chuuya would call a cab on his way back, but would still look at the cafe's entrance whenever the app sent him a notification. In the worst scenario, he would at least see him again.

Almost 2 hours later he saw Chuuya leaving the
stablishment with a gray haired guy. He had an arm around Chuuya's shoulders and wouldn't stop gesturing the hand holding a phone. His laugh was pretty loud since Dazai could hear from inside the car. "Annoying..."

A ride request.
From /him/.
But he didn't have his
phone in hand... Oh. The other boy was using Chuuya's phone to call a cab.

Dazai understood the situation. They were probably going to take it /together/. It wasn't according to his plans, but what was he supposed to do?

Chuuya recognized and smiled at Dazai as soon as he
saw him. He opened the car's back door but the other guy just entered first, an action that surprised even Dazai.

Chuuya raised an eyebrow, but his partner didn't seem to notice his annoyance, since he kept talking like nothing had happened.

The trip was a /nightmare/ to someone
like Dazai who couldn't stand some kind of people. His only comfort was being able to glance at Chuuya through the mirror, noticing his discomfort.

He wasn't even half as excited as he was before.

The so called Shirase wouldn't shut up for a second and whenever the ginger tried
to say something he'd interrupt him or give short answers, clearly not interested. Not to mention that his voice was way too loud.

Dazai almost crashed the car when Shirase cut Chuuya in the middle of a sentence with a kiss.

"This can't be happening" He thought "This moron won't
start making out with /my/ crush inside /my/ car, right?"

"Hey wait, stop that" Dazai heard Chuuya's voice. He was clearly controlling his anger and a bit of embarrassment perhaps? The brunet would gladly pay a good amount to see him punching that troublesome guy he had just met
"Fine, fine. Let's just wait for when we arrive at your place" Shirase whispered but not really.

Dazai looked at the GPS in his screen already memorizing the address. So that's where they were riding to.

/Chuuya's place/.

As soon as they arrived, Shirase left the car without
saying a word to Dazai and Chuuya gave him an apologetic smile "Thanks"

"You're welcome..?"

He was about to leave when he felt a hand gently touching his knee and looked at the driver startled.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" Dazai asked soflty, even though he knew Chuuya
didn't understand what he was talking about.

"Uh..? What?" He was so sincere, Dazai couldn't avoid a smile.

"Well. Normally people pay for the ride" The boy widened his eyes then checked his phone.

"What is it, Chuuya?" Shirase asked noticing the ginger's delay.

"Shirase, you
called a cab but you didn't change the payment method..."

"What? Chuuya, you said it was in credit card!" He replied in his defense.

"No... I told you to CHANGE to credit card. That's why I said I should be the one doing this, damn... Do you have any cash there?"

"No. It's not
my fault. You should have been more specific!"

"Hey" Dazai called their attention "Nevermind, okay? It's alright, you can pay me later" He said to /Chuuya/.

"No. I'm going upstairs to get the money. Shirase will wait here-"

"Of course I'm not going to wait here?!" Dazai could
see Chuuya's beautiful face changing to a very unfriendly expression"

"It's alright. Just pay me another time"

He really wanted to see Chuuya punch that annoying boy. But he wasn't a fool, he would make good use of the situation to see him again.

"And why would you do that?"
Chuuya asked clearly dissatisfied.

"I believe you didn't have bad intentions. And besides" Dazai gave his best smug face "I know where you live, Chuuya"

Tension took control of him "If you insist then... Could you give me your contact number, uh..." He looked at the driver when
he felt the brunet's fingers brushing against his, taking the phone from his hand to type his own phone number.

"It's Dazai. Dazai Osamu" With a mischievous smile he returned the phone to it's owner, who by the way was blushing violently.

"Come on, Chuuya!" He snapped out of it
hearing Shirase's impatient voice.

"Right. See you, then" He said without waiting for a response, feeling his face burn.

"See you~"

And he watched both of them, more specifically, /Chuuya/ disappear inside the building.

/Patience/ has always been Dazai's close friend.

He didn't hear from Chuuya until 2 days after the incident.

And he shamelessly had to confess that, despise not being someone easy to contact, he kept his phone close /all the time/, waiting for a sign.

Dazai's temporary hobby was to imagine how Chuuya was going to reach him.
A phone call? Probably not... Even best friends seldom call each other these days.

A message then, but what kind?

Was he going to ask for Dazai's service? Or just set a random time and place that was convenient to him, to pay and /leave/? Maybe just ask for
Dazai's bank account to transfer the money?

There were endless possibilities, but in the end it didn't matter. All he needed was Chuuya's number, he only needed him to contact him /first/.

If the ginger showed some interest then he would just play along. If he didn't though...
Dazai could fix this. He would /make/ him interested.

And that seemed to be his lucky day.

His phone vibrated on the table next to him and the screen revealed a text message from an unknown number, which he replied instantly.

[Unknown]: "Hey!"

[Dazai]: "Hello, Chibi Chuuya"
[Chuuya]: "How did you know it's me? Are you stalking me or something?"

He was so cute, Dazai wanted to joke with him, but he noticed the other one was nervous, not even complaining about the nickname.

[Dazai]: "You see... I don't give my contact info that easily. So I was not
expecting a call from anyone else :)"

[Chuuya]: "Did you expect me to call you?"

[Dazai]: "No. A message is fine" He would have loved to hear his voice though.
"Can I help you with something?"

[Chuuya]: "Yea, actually. I'm going to meet a friend today after 2pm, so I was
wondering whether you would be around? You could drive me there and I'd pay off the debt"

[Dazai]: "Sure, I can be! " He would be /of course/.

[Chuuya]: "Cool, thanks. Sorry for the trouble"

[Dazai]: "It's no problem at all, I'll be there around 2 pm"

[Chuuya]: "Right. Do you
remember the address?"

[Dazai]: "Would you be surprised if I said that I do?" It's just natural that he would remember.

[Chuuya]: "Hell yea? I was already typing here lol. How do you prefer me to pay you?"

[Dazai]: "Oh, Chuuya. Just pay me however is best for you ;)"
Dazai would grab any chance he had to flirt with the ginger. Was it too much? He was taking some time to reply.

[Chuuya]: "See you later, then" So cold...

[Dazai]: "Later"

The brunet checked the hour, 10am yet. He was lazily spread on the sofa, holding a coffee mug, the third
of the day.

He scrolled back the short conversation with Chuuya and stared at the empty contact profile photo, wondering which picture he should use.

Should he take an unnoticed picture of him? Maybe he was right, Dazai thought and acted like a stalker.

At least he had a
/motivating/ reason to go out.

Dazai hadn't gone to work since he met Chuuya. The boy was too mesmerizing and just the idea of leaving his house without a chance to meet him was unbearable. So he stayed home, waiting for his call.

He didn't need that work anyways.
Dazai was
smart, good looking and he had enough money to live a comfortable life.

At such young age he had reached a top rank at one of the most respectable companies in Yokohama.

But his brain worked different. Seeing the same people, the same places, every single day was a complete
turn off to him.

Unless they were interesting, that is.

Not to mention that he would often have conflicts with the head of the organization, Mori. They were so alike it was scary, and there was only place for one of them.

So Dazai resigned, 6 months back, with no regrets,
no resentment. It was nice at first, a relief, but for someone like him, staying home completely isolated wasn't good either.

Which is when he decided to become a /cab driver/.

Different people with no need to create any relationship, different places. His workplace was
the streets, and the routes were usually unpredictable.

He was getting tired of it already, but he could quit any time, and get a new job anywhere, whenever he wanted to.

And that's where Chuuya comes in, like a curse. He made it worth it and boring at the same time, since
Dazai didn't want to drive other people anymore.

Now that he had what he needed, he could start making a move to get the ginger for himself.

His plan was to take it easy, making it fun and pleasurable for /both/ of them, but it doesn't mean he was not going to work hard for it.
[Dazai]: "I'm here"

Dazai arrived at Chuuya's building at 1:40pm. It was earlier than the scheduled time, but he didn't mind waiting, it's not like he had anything else to do.

[Chuuya]: "Wtf??" The reply was full of energy, making Dazai smile.

20 minutes later, Chuuya opened
the back door of the cab and leaned his head on the seat as soon as he entered the car, panting.

"Breathe Chibi, you're going to have a heart attack and I don't feel like turning this into a ride to the hospital" Dazai laughed looking at him.

His clothes were more casual, but
he was still as beautiful as when Dazai saw him the first time.

"Oh, shut up. You arrived so early, I had to get dressed really fast and didn't even take a shower" Despite the words he wasn't angry for real.

"Yet, you're 6 minutes late" He said with sparkles in his eyes when
the image of Chuuya's /wet body/ in a shower filled his mind. "You're slooow like a slug"

"Fuck you, Dazai!" The brunet didn't know what kind of face he did when he heard his name, but Chuuya was distracted typing something on his phone. "Forgot to tell you, but Albatross
asked me to arrive a bit later, that's why. I just sent you the address"

"Albatross? Are you going on another date already, Chuuya~?"

"No! What are you taking me for?" He laughed awkwardly "This time is truly just a friend. He is the one who made me go out with Shirase. The guy
from the other day, you know..." He mentioned not much excited.

"I gues you should /thank/ him, then"

Dazai didn't try to hide the sarcasm in his voice and Chuuya didn't know what to reply to that. He got what the brunet meant.

"Since you're not in a hurry, would you mind if
we make a little stop? Need to fill up the car" He asked typing in the GPS, the address Chuuya had sent him.

"Sure! Why didn't you do that while waiting, though?"

"Forgot" In part, yes. But in reality he wouldn't mind spending more time with him.

It was amazing how they could
chat about anything. That was their second time meeting in what was supposed to be a professional interaction, but they talked like old acquaintances.

They stopped at the gas station and Dazai opened his door.

"I'm gonna pay there inside. Do you want something?"

"Nope, thanks"
Dazai nodded and jumped off the car. It was the moment Chuuya really /saw/ him, and his heart skipped a beat.

He was indeed /tall/. And handsome. He was elegant and had an air of superiority that Chuuya didn't know how to describe.

A rare kind people don't see everyday.
Attractive, alluring, he just suddenly wanted to be next to him.

And that's what he did. He followed the path to the small store Dazai had entered and saw him already in the cashier line.

Dazai opened a cocky "did you change your mind?" smile, which Chuuya pretended to ignore,
strolling through the shelves not paying attention to where he was going.

He stopped at the other man's side and felt /humiliated/ when Dazai bent his head down to look at him. He refused to look up, their height difference was pretty clear when standing next to each other.
The brunet noticed a hickey on Chuuya's neck, half covered by the longer side of his hair.

An annoying feeling of /jealousy/ twisted in his stomach, but he couldn't blame Shirase or whoever had done that.

He would do /worse/ if he ever got the chance.

Returning to the car,
Dazai offered him one of the two water bottles he had just bought, receiving a confused look in return.

"Just in case you're still tired" He said mockingly.

"I'm not that lazy. Exercises are part of my daily life" He replied, but still took the bottle.

"So Chibi is teling me
he is a healthy man"

"Stop calling me that!" He snorted.

"Do you prefer 'Slug'?"

"Oh come on, Dazai! You say this when you look like a stretched fish!"

"What?!" Dazai asked in surprise.

"Yea, you are so fucking tall and for what? I'm pretty sure something went wrong in there
and your limbs grew excessively"

"Why a fish tho?" He asked slightly tilting his head, pretending offense.

"Because that's what you are. Your eyes remind me of a fish and not any fish.A /mackerel/. An ugly mackerel"

Both of them knew it wasn't true. Dazai had taken his time to
look /nice/ that day. Especially for Chuuya. And the latter was aware of how gorgeous the man in front of him was.

"Chuuya is so mean" He said pitifully.

10 minutes more and they were already arriving at the destination, coincidentally the same place where Chuuya had called
Dazai the first time.

"So... Thanks for the ride"

"You're very welcome, Chibi" They sustained each other's eyes for a few seconds.

"I hope I won't see you around anymore" The redhead said trying to hold back a smile.

"Ah... You won't. I'll make sure to reject your
ride requests" He reassured him, although he knew both of them wished for the opposite "Goodbye /for now/, Chuuya"

"Yea. Bye, then"

Dazai didn't even consider waiting for him this time. He would give him some space and then would start planning his way to meet him again. Or...
Perhaps he should wait for another move from the ginger? That was tempting.

Later that night, Chuuya was taken aback, realizing the disappointment when the cab app showed him the driver's name.

A name that wasn't /Dazai Osamu/.
[Slug]: "Hey, Dazai. Look who I saw today"
[Slug]: [photo]

5 days had passed since Dazai had driven Chuuya to Albatross' place and they hadn't talked since then.

He was lazing around inside the car as usual, when he saw the redhead's message. Opening the picture Chuuya had
sent him, he couldn't hold back a silent chuckle.

Based on the angle, it had been taken from a short bridge over a pretty lake. And there were a lot of fishes. A big caramel one was right in the center.

[Mackerel]: "A fish? I don't get it. Who could it be?"
He replied playing dumb.

[Slug]: "Yea, who could it be 🙄"

[Mackerel]: "I'm pleased to know Chibi thinks of me when you hang out"

[Slug]: "So do you admit you're a fish? Haha"

[Mackerel]: "Do you admit you think of me?"

Chuuya was caught off guard, unsure of what to reply.
He couldn't even deny because he had literally sent a picture to Dazai out of the blue and it was the same as saying "I was thinking of you".

He really was. He had been thinking about him /a lot/ in the past days, always searching for an excuse to text him but
they never seemed good enough.

[Mackerel]: [photo]
[Mackerel]: "I guess I also saw you today :)"

The picture was taken from inside the car. Part of Dazai's - hot - arm leaning on the steering wheel, the front window and the car dashboard.

That meant absolutely /nothing/.
If Dazai hadn't sent the message below the picture, Chuuya would have taken it for a mistake.

[Slug]: "Mind explaining?"

[Mackerel]: "Can't you find yourself there?"
"Ah... Chuuya is just so small you can't even be seen in a picture 😔"

[Slug]: "Fuck you!" He replied but had
to confess he laughed a bit.

[Mackerel]: "Where is this place?" Dazai asked replying Chuuya's photo.

[Slug]: "It's a park nearby. I came here to meet some old friends" He sent a selfie showing a small group of 5 other guys eating distracted in the background.

The sky and green
field highlighted Chuuya's remarkable blue eyes in the sunlight.

[Mackerel]: "Beautiful"

And that got Chuuya blushing furiously. He was talking about the park, right?!

[Slug]: "Yea, it is nice here"

Dazai smiled victorious. Given the delay of the reply, he knew Chuuya would
be blushing right now, wondering if he was talking about him or the place.

He had learned to love how Chuuya tried to hide his reddened cheeks whenever the brunet complimented him somehow.

[Slug]: "Btw, Dazai. I need to go grocery shopping later. I can see you're working,
what do you think of taking me there?"

[Mackerel]: "Are you trying to monopolize me as your personal driver, Chuuya?"

[Slug]: "Nah don't get so full of yourself. I just don't wanna walk all those blocks holding a bunch of bags. Since you're a driver and someone I know,
I thought about making you carry some of them for me"

[Mackerel]: "You've got to be kidding me. I'm obviously not doing that" He was obviously /going to/. But he wanted to see the ginger beg him.

[Slug]: "Come on, don't be a sucker. I'll pay you a meal"

[Mackerel]: "Now THAT
is tempting. Let me know the time"

[Slug]: "Changed your mind so fast lol. 5pm. Don't come earlier today! Or else I'll keep you waiting on purpose"

[Mackerel]: "Don't worry, Chibi. My world doesn't spin around you" Lies.

[Slug]: "Yea,ofc 🙄 See you later"

[Mackerel]: "Okay~"
Dazai spent a few more minutes admiring Chuuya in the picture. He was so pretty, with delicate features like a doll, but still holding a powerful, confident gaze.

His fair skin matching the light, filled with almost unnoticeable scattered freckles - that he
wanted to /lick/ so bad - And he looked very happy. A natural, childish smile.

Chuuya was a sociable person. Always hanging out with other people, which was the complete opposite of himself.

Admiring him for so long just made Dazai get more eager, and watching the hours
pass slowly wasn't going to help at all. So, for once, he decided to put some efforts on his work.
.
.
Dazai arrived at Chuuya's building and it didn't take long for him to show up, pretty well dressed for someone who was just going to the supermarket.

This time, the ginger
decided to sit in the front seat. He prayed for Dazai not to comment anything about, but he should have known.

/Of course/ he would.

"What?" Chuuya asked trying to look casual when Dazai raised an eyebrow, as soon as the redhead closed the door of the cab.

"It's rare having
people sitting in the front"

"Does it bother you? I can sit in the ba-"

"Not /at all/. It doesn't feel lonely now" He smiled at him.

The car started moving and Chuuya still couldn't remove his eyes from the man by his side.

He was starting to feel a bit guilty.
Just a bit...

Dazai always made him feel so comfortable, that sometimes he forgot the strict professional relationship between them.

Perhaps he was being selfish and was really trying to monipolize the driver.

He didn't have any obligation to attend his request but he
still did. Probably because Chuuya had blackmailed him with food.

But even so, he could have gone home already, could be resting, and yet, here he was.

"Chibi is so quiet today. Did something happen?" Dazai wanted to tease the ginger for staring at him, but he was
really worried.

"What? No. It's all good. I was just thinking why did you come?" He was so straightforward sometimes...

"Because you said you were going to pay me a meal, of course" Dazai replied joking.

"Yea, but. Ah... Nevermind" He replied turning his head
to the window beside him.

A minute of silence until Dazai spoke.

"Chuuya. Working as a cab driver is really annoying" He chuckled "If it's someone I'm already acquainted with, it's easier for me. Don't worry about it, Chibi, it's a win-win situation. I came because
you said I could be of help. I could have refused, yes, but if I'm here is because I /want to/"

"Well you have a point" He sighed relieved.

"Whenever you need, just call me, okay? I mean it"

"Right. Thanks for that" Dazai didn't reply with words, but a sympathetic smile.
At the supermarket, the brunet wouldn't give Chuuya a minute of peace. Giving his opinion, criticizing or even recommending him some random things to buy, only to see him getting mad.

They were a duo that looked like close friends and who certainly called a lot of attention.
Chuuya didn't buy many things in the end and Dazai, only took a pack of cigarettes.

He had figured Chuuya wouldn't take him to a classy restaurant, nothing of the kind. But he didn't expect him to suggest a /fast food/.

He had eaten that hundreds of times before, but none of
those times had felt this good. Not because of the food, but the /company/.

They were immersed in a never ending conversation and jokes, in which Dazai even succeeded in taking a funny picture of Chuuya biting his sandwich, with sauce on his cheeks.

The ginger tried his revenge
taking a picture of a distracted Dazai scrolling through his phone waiting in the payment line.

But the man was so /unfairly/ good looking, all he got as a result was the perplexed expression printed on his face.

Dazai didn't want him to feel insecure about the reason why
he had agreed in being there, so in the end, he payed for his own meal and still tried to insist in paying for Chuuya's as well, resulting in a childish bickering between them in front of the cashier.

When they arrived in front of Chuuya's place, he helped him picking the few
bags, then leaned against the car with the hands inside the pockets, looking at him, as if he was waiting for his goodbye.

"So" Chuuya started, a bit lost in the brunet's attractive features "...Do you wanna come upstairs?"

Well... That's something Dazai /wasn't/ expecting for.
His expression remained unchangeable, analysing the boy in front of him. But his heart?

Beating so fast it was difficult to keep up with the adrenaline, while he really /considered/ the possibility.

The delay of the answer made Chuuya bite his tongue and
shift his weight from one foot to another, nervous.

He was trying to be polite, but now that he cautiously stopped to evaluate the words he had innocently pronounced, it was a /strange/ proposition considering the hour.

"We can try that receipt you suggested..." He said in a
desperate attempt to fix the mood.

Dazai lowered his head with a chuckle.

/Of course/ that was the reason. What was he expecting? He knew Chuuya was with Shirase, and he seemed to be the /loyal/ type.

"No" He replied with a sweet voice "Not today. It's already late, Chibi must
be tired and I also have... Some other things to do" - Like jerking off thinking of you.

"Ah" Chuuya was so sincere, he couldn't hide his disappointment "I took so much of your time, my bad. Is this okay if I pay you next time?"

Dazai smiled to that. /Next time/.
"Sure, you know you don't have to worry about that. It was fun"

"Yea, it was. Thanks, Dazai" He was happy to know the other man had enjoyed the time like he did.

"Goodnight, Slug"

"Night, Mackerel"

He watched Chuuya disappear inside the building and only then,
he entered the car and left.

He drove a few blocks away before parking again. Lighting a cigarette he closed his eyes and took a long drag.

It had been a while sice he last smoked but, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?

So much tension between them. Chuuya was messing with
his head and the worse is that he didn't even /know/ that.

Dazai was the kind of person who would always get anyone he wanted. A fake smile and some empty words were enough to have them begging for him in bed.

He could have accepted Chuuya's invitation. He had his ways to
put his hands on him, mark his memory, his /body/ with an unforgettable time, accomplish his goal and get satisfied even if just for a night.

But he /didn't want to/. Not this way.

Something about Chuuya just wouldn't allow him. To be honest he didn't give a damn if
he would hurt someone else's feeling after a fuck, it's not like he really understood how they felt, or the logic behind all the drama.

But he /cared/ about Chuuya.

He didn't want to hurt him, and although Dazai was counting the days to get rid of Shirase, he would hate to
make his - future - Chibi feel guilty, carrying the weight of having betrayed his current partner or whatever was their relationship.

Everything was going so well, he didn't want to part ways just like that.

Now he remembered why he had dropped the cigarettes.
The feeling of /addiction/ was disgusting and annoying, filling his brain to the point he couldn't focus on anything else.

But that night he would let himself drown in the sensation because honestly, he needed. He /deserved/ it.

As much as he deserved Chuuya in his
humble opinion. He was being patient, he was behaving, being a real gentleman, slowly building their bond, brick by brick.

And Chuuya was the kind of addiction Dazai would rather be consumed for than let go.

Certainly, the /best/ he had found in years.
Chuuya was sprawled on his bed sighing miserably. He was tired but didn't know how to turn off the growing anxiety inside of him.

It was already past 10pm, he had never taken so long /grocery shopping/.

Taking his phone in hand he realized there were many unread messages and
even a missed call from Shirase.

Chuuya was /always/ available for text messages, but he hadn't checked them since the second he entered Dazai's car.

Most of Shirase's messages were question marks. Scrolling back the monologue, he saw the moment the other was inviting him
for a party, 2 weeks from now.

Chuuya wasn't much excited but he would think about that another time. Without an apologise for the late reply, he just confirmed, and got a response almost immediately of Shirase saying he had /already/ bought the tickets.

The fact that he didn't
wait for Chuuya's confirmation nor bothered asking if everything was okay, since he had disappeared for more than 5 hours, left him a bit upset. But he didn't want to think about that and only replied an "okay".

He was grateful actually. He didn't want to explain that he was
hanging out with a hot, annoying cab driver he couldn't /stop/ thinking about.

Returning to the unread messages he opened the group chat "The Flags".

There were over 100 messages which Chuuya didn't want to backread, he just saw his friends had shared the pictures from
earlier in the park, deciding to send the ones he had too.

[Albatross]: "Oh? Chuuya is alive?"

He rolled his eyes and ignored the message. Opening his phone gallery to see the pictures his friends had sent, he saw the latest one in his camera roll and automatically opened it.
/Dazai/. His perfectly shaped side profile displaying a bored expression when they were waiting in the line to pay for the meal.

Chuuya zoomed in on his face, distracted. Should he change Dazai's contact picture? No doubts this one looked way better than the one of
a dead fish he was currently using.

His thoughts were interrupted by the pop up notification.

[Albatross]: "Whom did you take this selfie for?"
"Was it for Shirase?"

Chuuya frowned when he read the gray haired boy's name. "What selfie?" He thought.

Opening the conversation,
he saw the picture he had sent to Dazai in the park, instantly remembering the brunet's reply "beautiful", making his heart race again.

[Chuuya]: "No. I just took a picture of us, what's wrong with that?"

[Albatross]: "You don't really expect me to
believe in this shitty excuse, right?"
"If it wasn't for Shirase, then was it for that driver? 👀"

[Piano Man]: "What driver? 👀"

[Lippman]: "👀"

[Chuuya]: "Shut the fuck up,Albatross! It's none of your business"

[Albatross]: "Woa so angry hahaha you just confirmed it, Chuuya"
[Piano Man]: "Who are you 2 talking about?"

[Lippmann]: "👀"

[Chuuya]: "No one. Albatross is mentally ill"

[Albatross]: "I am, but you're even more for still being with that scumbag 😎"

[Chuuya]: "Don't fucking forget you were the one who made me give him a chance"
[Albatross]: "I've already regreted and apologized 😒"

Chuuya's friends didn't like Shirase, and he could understand why. He didn't have anything special and on the contrary, he had many flaws, /bad/ habits and behaviors.

There was no serious compromise between them, and he
himself didn't know exactly /why/ they were still together.

Chuuya didn't like getting involved with different people at the same time, and he wanted a partner who would do the same. He found that in Shirase and it was comforting. It was /enough/.

[Chuuya]: "Speaking of him"
He said changing the topic "Shirase invited me for a party in 2 weeks. Y'all are coming with me"

[Albatross]: "I PASS"

[Lippmann]: "Party is fun. Shirase is not fun"

[Piano Man]: "I have a better idea. Why don't we go to a party just the 6 of us?"

[Chuuya]: "Can't. He already
got the tickets"

[Albatross]: "Oof- Without asking you? That's so..."

[Chuuya]: "Shut up, Tross. He did ask me" Kinda... "Come onn it's gonna be nice 🥺"

He felt like he was trying to convince himself more than anyone else.

[Albatross]: "I'll go if you pay for the drinks"
[Chuuya]: "Drinks are free, idiot. I mean... It's included in the ticket price"

[Lippmann]: "You should have said that before?"

[Albatross]: "OOHH CHUUYA! You were going on a cool free drinks party without telling us anything??"

[Chuuya]: "Are you retarded??"
[Piano Man]: "And how much is the ticket? Let's not forget you have someone to pay for you, Chuuya. But we're on our own"

[Chuuya]: "Price is good I promise"
"And wait. Who is going to pay for me?"

[Albatross]: "Shirase, duh?"

[Chuuya]: "He is not? He already
told me to transfer him the money"

[Lippmann]: "What a gentleman.."

[Piano Man]: "What a gentleman.."

[Albatross]: "👆👆"

[Chuuya] "..."

[Piano Man]: "Anyways"
"@ Doc, @ Iceman?"

They rarely spoke in the group chat. Iceman would often read the messages but not say anything,
and Doc would just ignore the phone's existence most part of the time, mainly replying messages when someone tagged him in a conversation.

[Iceman]: "If you're going, I'm going" A man of few words.

[Doc]: "What are you talking about?"

[Albatross]: "The party we're going to
drink for free. Chuuya will pay for everyone"

[Doc]: "What party?"

[Chuuya] replying to [Albatross]: "Did you bother reading what I said?! Or are your dumb racing games affecting your fucking vision?"

[Chuuya] replying to [Doc]: "It's in 2 weeks. The drinks are
included I'm *not* paying for anyone"

[Albatross]: "Hey, hey! If I drink too much, can I use this as an excuse to punch Shirase?"

[Piano Man]: "Not if he punches you first"

[Doc]: "Pffff"

And just like that, a quarrel between the Flags had started. They would often have these
healthy arguments, and although their schedule didn't normally match, their group chat was constantly lively.

Those were the best friends Chuuya could ever ask for. They were always there for him, and he would always be there for them too.

Closing his phone, the engines inside
his brain started spinning again. He was once more thinking about /him/.

Should he invite Dazai, maybe? But what was the point in doing that if he would be with Shirase?

He liked Dazai's presence.
He liked the idea of being /friends/ with him, being close to him and was glad to see how the other seemed to feel the same.

Maybe he should find more excuses to meet him? He had told Chuuya to ask him whenever he wanted, it was good for him too, right?
And that's how it was.

On the next 2 weeks Dazai would often get a text message from the redhead asking him to take him to the most random places. Shopping mall, drugstore, restaurant near his house, even to college once.

"What can I do if Slug is so needy of affection and
can't resist going out on numerous dates with me" Is what Dazai would say, watching Chuuya's conflicted expression, frowning with a blush.

"This is /not/ a date. I'm just assuring you can pay for your bills by the end of the month"

"Oh, yes, /sure you are/. That's so
thoughtful, Chibi, I'm touched" Placing his hands on his heart, he would make a scene in the middle of the streets, before dodging the redhead's elbow aiming at his ribs.

Chuuya would often postpone the payment as an excuse to call him again, and Dazai had /nothing/ to complain.
They would normally meet at the end of the day and spend together some hours more than they had originally planned. Not to mention the text messages that became more frequent.

Daily. Hourly. Till he point Dazai had changed the tone of Chuuya's notification and Chuuya's only
pinned conversation was Dazai's.

And it was always great. To talk about literally anything, sending memes to each other, random videos and cute pictures.

Dazai would constantly send him photos of something nice or places he saw that reminded him of Chuuya - which was
basically everything and everywhere.

Meanwhile the ginger would send photos of himself or whatever he was doing. Be it a sketch done during a boring class, the sneakers he was planning on buying, the lunch he prepared for the week, a cool outfit he was trying out, even his
adorable face covered in green skin care mask.

That would be so naive to believe Dazai wasn't keeping /all/ of them carefully separated in a secured album in his gallery, dedicated especially for Chuuya.

An album that demanded a password to get access /because/... Those photos
were too precious to fall in the wrong hands. They were taken /for him/.

It was like his treasure, his merits, the result of his efforts and a proof of the good man he was being, patiently waiting for the /right/ time to receive his final prize.

He was the only one who
had the right to admire them, get lost in them, or create scenarios in his mind to use some of them for /other purposes/.

Well... He was only a man after all. And not one of the stronget when it came to Chuuya.

That Little Pumpkin was making things easier to him, but more
difficult as well. It was getting harder and harder to hold back the urge to /touch/ him, to /kiss/ him, to /trap/ him inside the car and-

Back to reality, out of all those things, he just couldn't say he was happy when the conversation was directed to Shirase.

"A party?" Dazai
asked drinking the rest of his milkshake.

"Yep. It's in 3 days. So I was thinking, perhaps you wanna come?" Chuuya's eyes were sparkling with hope and Dazai noticed but... He wasn't a big fan of crowds and mostly important.

"You said Shirase bought the tickets for you both
already. I don't think he is expecting you to bring somebody else"

"Well, too bad for him, cuz my friends are coming too"

"Allow me to make it clear" Dazai laughed clearing his throat, as if preparing for an important speech "I don't think I wanna go to a party to play
a third wheeling role between you and that pain in the ass"

"Stop it, he is not /that/ bad" Chuuya followed his laugh "Besides, my friends will be there too"

"Which is great, really, but your friends are not my friends, Chibi"

"That's true but..." He sighed. Dazai didn't
want to go. He noticed, not hiding his disappointment.

"I'll think about it" the brunet replied after almost a minute of silence.

He was /not/ going to think about it. But if Chuuya kept pouting like that, he was pretty sure
he would end up /biting/ the ginger's lips right here and now.

Chuuya irradiated happiness at that moment. It was something worth seeing, but in the end... Dazai didn't go.

The day came and all he did was take Chuuya to Shirase's place - a place Dazai may or may not
/accidentally/ implant a bomb someday.

"There's still time. You sure you don't wanna come?"

"Annoying me till the last minute, aren't you?"

Dazai couldn't help but direct his eyes /again/ to a specific piece Chuuya was wearing that evening.
A /choker/, fitting perfectly around his neck.

"Thanks Chibi, but no"

"Okay..."

The ginger had noticed how the other kept averting his eyes to his neck, but didn't say anything about.

"Don't come texting me if you miss me, Mackerel"

"Oh, I definitely won't. And you don't
call me if you get drunk, I might just block you"

"Ha! I dare you to do that!"

"What do I gain if I do?"

"Nothing! You're the only one losing here. I'm your best client, you depend on me"

"That's a bold assumption, Slug. You don't even pay for your rides anymore"
"Bullshit! I always pay. And hey, you are the one who doesn't even mind that anymore, shitty Dazai"

"You know I never did..."

"What?" Chuuya asked confused and Dazai grinned.

"Get out of my car, Chuuya, you'll get late!"
"Ah... Thanks for the ride. Now just fuck off, bastard. I'm going to vomit if I keep looking at your fish face" He sulked, pretending disgust.

"I bet you will. Bye for you too"

"Yea, bye" And reluctantly, he left the car.

"Chuuya"
"What?" He asked, looking at the brunet over his shoulder through the passenger's window.

Dazai opened a sincere, beautiful smile and said.

"You look /gorgeous/"

Chuuya didn't know where to put his face. Luckily, Dazai didn't wait for a response and left.
The kitchen was the most useless place in Dazai's apartment. His eating schedule was like shit and his daily diet was ridiculously poor.

He had always found cooking a waste of time. Why doing that and dealing with a pile of dishes to wash later, when he could just order from
a random restaurant or simply open a canned crab?

So it was the room where he used to spend the least amount of time. But it was also where he kept his previously unused ashtray, and exactly where he found himself smoking a whole pack of cigarettes.

It was already past midnight
and he hadn't even changed his clothes since he came back home.

Each time he thought about Chuuya, he would give a long drag, his mind wandering to his soft skin exhaling his so desired smell. His wonderful smile and heavenly eyes, representing Dazai's particular blue sky, where
it was always day, always clear, always /bright/. The opposite of his own life.

He had already questioned himself more than 50 times, whether he should have gone to the party, it wouldn't be that difficult to find a way to steal Chuuya for himself..

His thoughts were
interrupted by a phone call.

"Slug" could be read on the screen.

That was... At least /interesting/. Unexpected.

He had just told him earlier not to call him if he got drunk. Was Chuuya testing him? Despite that, there was something intriguing poking his brain.
Chuuya /never/ called him. Their conversations were resumed to text or voice messages. But a call? That had never happened, which made him pick up.

"Chuuya?" There was so much noise at the other end of the line.

"Uh... Hi" Dazai frowned to the /unknown/ voice.

"Who are you?"
"My name is Lippmann, I'm a friend of Chuuya. Are you... Mackerel?" Dazai remembered seeing his contact number saved with that name in Chuuya's phone once.

"Where's Chuuya?" He asked, ignoring the question.

"Ah well, he is with me. He just isn't in conditions to
use his phone right now" Vague answers like that pissed him off.

"In no conditions..?" Dazai repeated the sentence in a menacing voice.

"Sorry to call at this hour but we're at a bar and Chuuya is kinda drunk. He said you were late to pick him up..."

"Wasn't he supposed to be
at a party with Shirase?" For some reason, he started feeling angry.

After hearing Shirase's name, Lippmann relaxed a bit. If that "Mackerel" guy knew about him, so he wasn't just anyone.

"We /were/ at a party but some things went wrong between him and Chuuya so we left. He is
very upset and drank too much. We're trying to take him home but he refuses. He said he is going to wait for 'that stupid Mackerel' and won't leave otherwise"

Silence. Dazai didn't really know what to feel. Were his lips involuntarily drawing a smile?

The image of a needy,
clingy Chuuya expecting /him/ to go catch him was so...

"Sorry to bother you. I just wanted to confirm Chuuya hadn't created a story inside his mind and it seems to be the case. How were you going to pick him up if you didn't even know he was her-"

"Where are you now?"

"What?"
Lippmann had heard well but was taken aback.

"I'm coming" He didn't even consider another possibility "The bar. What's the name and address?"

"Wait, are you /serious/?" That was unbelievable. Was that why Chuuya liked that cab driver so much? He heard key noises on Dazai's side
of the line and passed him the name and address of the bar.

"I'll be there in less than 15 minutes. Keep an eye on him" And he hung up without waiting for a response.

The best part of being a cab driver is the fact that you get to know every corner in the city, and with the
address memorized, Dazai drove to said place arriving in 10 minutes.

He didn't really know why, but he was feeling upset.

As soon as he localized the bar, he parked somewhere he was pretty sure was prohibited, but he couldn't care less.

Not only that, but also the fact that he
was driving his /other/ car that wasn't the cab, which by the way wasn't /any/ car.

He called a lot of attention with his /exceptional/ arrival. People standing outside the bar directed their eyes to his car, then to him, but he didn't pay them any mind.

He was busy searching
for a vibrant /red head/ in the wave of people.

Among them were two exquisite figures.

"How are we going to know it's him?" Doc asked Lippmann.

"I don't know. When we see a cab we should just ask"

Meanwhile Dazai was sweeping his eyes through the whole ambience ignoring
the flirts. He /hated/ crowds and there were no signs of Chuuya. Had they left?

Taking his phone he called the ginger's number while returning to the streets, when his eyes recognized a familiar face from the selfie Chuuya had sent him the day he went to the park.
That same person was coincidentally receiving a phone call.

"Are you Lippmann?" He asked approaching both men and canceling the call.

"Yes?" Lippmann answered while Doc raised an eyebrow "You're... The guy who made quite an entrance"

He said looking at Dazai's car parked not
far from where they were standing "Don't tell me... you're..."

"Yes" A faint smile "Mackerel"

"Oh..." Doc couldn't hold back his surprise. The guy in front of them was /mesmerizing/. A strong and beautiful presence.

"Sorry we didn't call you when you arrived. We were expecting
someone different. I don't know. Maybe... Maybe..."

"Someone older in a cab?" Dazai asked even though he knew it wasn't /only/ that.

"Yea...That too" Lippmann himself was known for being handsome. Well dressed, neat hair, a beautiful face. He was like a model or an actor,
even so, he couldn't help but also get stunned. "This is Doc" He introduced the weird man with deep eyebags by his side.

"Pleased to meet you" He wasn't really interested but "Would you mind telling me where is Ch-"

"DAZAI!" A loud,
strident, /delicious/ voice he would recognize anywhere.

Lippmann noticed the man relax as soon as he heard the call, a discreet smile painting his lips when he turned his head to look at Chuuya.

Relief and /adoration/ had never looked so clear in someone's expression before.
The ginger came stomping in their direction, stumbling a bit. /Adorable/.

Dazai's smile vanished when he saw another redhead following right behind, striding faster to catch up with Chuuya's steps.

"What the hell took you so long?" Chuuya asked impatient, losing a bit of
his balance when he abruptly stopped right in front of him.

The guy by his side held him by the waist to keep him in place and Chuuya directed him a quick uncomfortable glance.

Dazai watched everything with his hands shoved inside the overcoat's pocket. Eyes fixed on
the boy's hand.

"Oi! I'm talking to you!" Chuuya called his attention standing on tiptoe, which made him unbalanced again and have the boy by his side squeeze his waist even more.

"Careful, Chuuya, you're gonna fall" The unknown boy said, hurting the ginger's pride. He never
considered himself frail and he would never show his weak side to anyone he didn't /trust/.

"Man? Fuck off" Chuuya slightly pushed him aside trying to get rid of his hands. But his steps were really unstable and Dazai supported him in the back.

"Not your lucky day, Tachihara"
Another voice came from behind them and everyone turned to look at Albatross. Except Dazai who kept staring at the guy he had just learned the name.

"What? Why? Chuuya said-"

"Shut the fuck up! I might have drank a little but I'm not dumb. I know what I said and I /didn't/ say
anything special" Chuuya was getting mad for real "Go away, damn, stop following me around like a starving dog"

Tachihara opened his mouth to say something but was cut by a sharp, emotionless voice.

"He said you better /leave/" All eyes turned to him. Including Chuuya's.
Dazai didn't have a hint of anger in his expression, but he had an authoritarian aura, eyes like a /knife/ fixed on Tachihara and he /felt/ the stab.

"...Fine. who even are you, shit..." He said lowering his head "I saved my number in your phone earlier. Call me, Chuuya"
Albeit he wasn't looking in Dazai's eyes, his gaze was giving him goosebumps, so he left.

"Finally" Chuuya snorted.

"I didn't know you were close to Tachihara" Albatross said.

"What the fuck? I'm not? He approached me saying he was your friend and we
started chatting" He shrugged.

"He follows you on twitter and he is very interested in you"

"Good to know, I'm going to block him. You should find better friends in college"

"We're not friends. We just happened to have some classes together last semester. But whatever"
Albatross waved his hand putting an end to the topic and glancing at the outstanding guy beside Chuuya, who seemed to have found all that pretty funny "And you are?"

"Dazai"

Albatross looked at the ginger in surprise.

"Chuuya! What the fuck?"

"??"
"I'm Albatross, nice to meet you"

"Oh, so you are the famous Albatross"

"And you are the /famous/ Dazai" The brunet raised an eyebrow. He? Famous? "This shorty talks a lot about you" He pointed at Chuuya with his chin.

"HEY! Watch your mouth! I /don't/ talk about him.
And you" He looked at Dazai and crossed his arms " What are /you/ doing here?"

Dazai was /amazed/. And didn't hold back a sincere laugh to the question.

"What's so funny?"

"I heard /someone/ was waiting for me to pick them up"

"Huh?" The answer was like a click making it
look like he was starting to sober up, putting his hands on his pockets searching for something "Where's my phone?"

"Thought you'd never ask" Lippmann handed him the phone and Chuuya noticed everyone looking at him.

"What? Do I have something on my face?"

"Did you really
forget?" Lippmann asked.

"Forget what?"

"Ah... Chuuya! I came all the way here because you were calling me!" Dazai said theatrically.

"I didn't call you?"

"Lippmann called him because you wouldn't stop saying you were waiting for him" Doc said.

"And this is the only reason
why I didn't block you, Chibi"

"This again? You would never" Chuuya smirked.

"Wow, wait" Albatross called their attention "Did you just... Nevermind" Both of them looked at him with interrogative eyes, but the other ones understood what had shocked him.

Chuuya had just been
called "Chibi" and /accepted/ it? That was... Really /something/.

"You can leave anyway, I don't need you. I can get home on my own" Chuuya turned his back on everyone.

"Where are you going?" Dazai asked.

"Toilet. Unless I can't even go there by myself and you wanna come too?"
Dazai narrowed his eyes. That definitely wasn't /safe/. He knew Chuuya didn't mean it /that/ way, but that was a tempting proposition. His imagination running wild, fantasizing the things he could do to him...

Chuuya realized what he had said and rolled his eyes "Go home, okay?"
And walked inside the bar.

"Is it really alright to leave him alone?" Doc asked

"I guess he is fine now" Dazai replied and Albatross laughed.

"Nah... It doesn't look like it, but he is still drunk. He has many drunken phases, they are like a roller coaster. He is just ashamed
of having called you, don't worry"

"Is that so..."

"Sorry for the trouble. You should go back, you know. Chuuya is stubborn asf"

"You've just found an opponent of his level. I'm already here, so let's just wait for him to calm down a bit"
Chuuya was washing his face in the sink, a little tipsy and yes, embarrassed too.

He couldn't /believe/ his friends had called Dazai and even less that he had /really come/.

And the real question to his problem, one that would never get a plausible answer
except for "he was born like this" was:

Why was he so fucking handsome?

"Shit" He was aware that he became more talkative and impulsive after a drink, so he had to stay as far from Dazai as possible.

At this point he had already - finally - realized he had
a crush on the driver, but seriously, who /wouldn't/?

Wiping his face he left the toilet, refusing to go outside because something was telling him Dazai would still be there, so he had to wait for him to leave.

That is, /if/ he even left.
In an attempt to distract himself, he joined Piano Man and Iceman who were playing billiards with another duo.

"Did Tachihara let go of you?" Piano Man asked.

"Yea... Finally"

Chuuya had noticed a girl looking at him since he had entered the bar on his way to the toilet,
and the same girl was now walking to him.

She was pretty. For someone who had a taste for women, which wasn't the case.

"Hello" She said sympathetically with her hands behind her back and a charming smile.

Taking a better look at her, Chuuya noticed how much makeup she was
using and how ridiculously tight and short was her dress, making him wonder why she was even wearing it. Her black hair seemed to be the only natural thing about her.

"Hi" He replied returning his attention to the game.

"I was outside with some friends earlier and saw you there
We were thinking... Don't you and your friends wanna join us in a more private party?"

"No, thanks"

"Ah... That's a shame" She didn't expect a response like /that/ "Isn't it better to ask them if they are interested?"

"Not necessary. They don't wanna go"

"How do you know?"
She asked incredulous.

"You said it yourself, they are my friends, so I just know. Now if you excuse me" He started stepping away.

"Wait, would you mind giving me the contact of one of your friends?" Chuuya studied her a bit more. She definitely /wasn't/ the type of
none of his friends.

"Sorry to disappoint but I don't think-"

"The brunet. /Dazai/" Chuuya's eyes widened. Rage instantly took control of him.

"Where the fuck did you hear that name?! You better stay fucking AWAY from him, bitch!"

Noticing the path things were taking,
one of her friends approached them and it didn't take long for him and Chuuya to start throwing fists.

The commotion called a lot of people's attention, even the ones standing outside, including Albatross and the others.

"Well... Fuck" He commented when Dazai, Lippmann and Doc
approached him to see what was going on there inside.

Dazai's eyes shined brighter.

The first - and probably /only/ - thing he saw was /Chuuya/.

He was mad and debating himself trying to get rid of the arms of a grumpy guy with a scar over the right eye and
a cigarette between his lips, holding him back.

The ginger was clearly trying to reach another guy whose hands were covering his face, surrounded by a group of friends and a good amount of blood running from his nose.

Piano Man approached as soon as he saw them
entering the bar, still holding the pool cue.

"Been a while since we saw Chuuya lose his temper like that..."

"Lucky that Iceman came with us" Doc commented.

"What happened?" Lippmann asked, but despite the curiosity, none of them seemed to be surprised like Dazai.
"That girl over there" Piano Man started, pointing at a girl displaying a shocked expression "She came to talk to Chuuya"

"Oh?" Albatross made an interested sound "He is usually so polite. What happened?"

Dazai's attention was split into two. Part of him was
hearing the conversation and the other one was glued on the furious Chuuya a few meters away.

"She invited him and his friends, which I suppose she meant us, to a 'private party' but Chuuya dismissed her right away hahaha"
"So why...?" Lippmann asked.

"Everything was fine until she asked for the contact of someone called Dazai" He shrugged "Who even is this Dazai?"

Everyone remained in a silent disbelief.
He didn't wait for anything else before starting walking in Chuuya's direction.

So the reason why the ginger got so mad was because he was /jealous/. Damn... That was... well. That was something Dazai would take full advantage of.
Iceman was still by Chuuya's side even though he no longer made any move with the intention to reproach his rival. All he did was glare at him and the rest of his friends.

His expression cleared, eyes wide open as soon as he saw the driver coming closer.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE! LEAVE!" Chuuya was so angry he just wanted to keep Dazai out of the girl's sight.

Out of /everyone's/ sight.

Dazai never faulted with his steps despite the ginger's yell. He nodded at Iceman, as a polite gesture of greeting,
reassuring him he would take control from now on.

Iceman understood, but since he didn't know Dazai he only gave 2 steps back and stayed there relatively close to them.

Finally stopping in front of him, Dazai looked at Chuuya.

"No" He grinned "Unless you come with me"
"I'm not going anywhere! You shouldn't stay here!"

"I'm not afraid of a random girl, Chibi"

Chuuya's eyes widened even more. Was he /that/ obvious?

"It- It's not that!" Stuttering like this he didn't know who he was trying to fool.

Who could blame him, though?
He didn't even know Dazai's sexuality, they had never talked about it. Maybe the girl was his type, who knows?

And Chuuya did /not/ want to risk and find out, thank you very much.

"I'm leaving" Dazai slightly brushed his thumb against the corner of Chuuya's lips and cheeks,
where a darker mark with tiny scratches was forming. Probably the result from the fight "But I'm bringing you with me"

"Are you fucking deaf?" He said slapping Dazai's hand "I said I won't-"

The dialogue was cut short by Dazai slipping his index finger underneath the choker
and firmly tugging him closer, their faces few centimeters apart.

Bad boys demand more invested actions, it's what he thinks. And he had /plenty/ to offer.

"It's no longer a request, Chuuya. It's an /order/" He said with a steady voice, shutting any of his reactions.
The ginger felt so embarrassed he bet he was blushing to the tip of his ears. Still, he couldn't avert his eyes from the brunet's intense gaze.

"How dare he?" He thought "How dare he order me around. And how dare he order me around like /this/!"

He hated being told to
do something, but this time... Damn...

He could blame the alcohol, but he found it hot. /He/ was feeling hot.

Dazai's voice alone was enough to settle him in place. His look could cut him open, making him leak all his feelings. And the touch of a single finger pressed against
his neck was making him burn inside out.

Dazai's voice, Dazai's look, Dazai's touch.

/Dazai/. Was massive. His superior, dominant aura was too much for Chuuya.

His head was light and he was completely unaware of the surroundings, mind fixed only in the person in front of him.
And they were /so close/.

He unconsciously dropped his look to the driver's lips. Had they always been this tempting? The obvious answer was yes, but... Not like /now/.

Chuuya just had to stand on tiptoe, lift his head a little more to concretize a kiss, a /dream/. And then-
"Excuse me"

Without a warning, all the tension was broken, shattered into pieces that Chuuya would give /everything/ to recollect and rebuild.

The flames of desire burning inside of him immediately turned into flames of rage.
First Dazai looked in the voice's direction. Then he straightened his back and let go of Chuuya's choker.

A girl. /That/ girl.

"Hi" She said again, staring specifically at Dazai. He discreetly held Chuuya's wrist to avoid him jumping to attack her.

"Hello" Dazai replied with
a mellow voice, making her open a shy smile.

It wasn't nice of him to play with someone else's feelings, but he didn't know when he would get the chance to see Chuuya's jealous face again.

"I was wondering if everything is okay? Do you need anything?"

"I NEED YOU TO FU-"
"Nooo, not at all! We're good. /He/ is good" He replied, tilting his head in Chuuya's direction, cutting him in the middle of an obscene sentence.

"It's just because maybe my friend hurt him, so I wanted to check if you need help"

"Don't worry, /sweetheart/, I've got him.
Right, /baby/?" He pulled Chuuya closer by the waist, shocking the side of their bodies together.

"OI" Chuuya looked up with a scowl and ashamed but then... He relaxed.

Dazai was giving the girl the /fakest/ smile he had ever seen in his life. And he felt radiating.
TheI brunet had /never/ directed a smile similar to that to him. His annoyance was so obvious that the girl just wouldn't catch it if she didn't want to.

"Yes, but-"

"Your friend, though... He doesn't look okay, maybe you should try to go and comfort him"
She bit her bottom lip, nervous. It was pretty clear that the one who had lost the fight was her friend and not Chuuya.

"You take care of yours, I take care of /mine/"

He completed without letting go of him. There was nothing else to say,
so the sentence "we're already leaving" was followed by the driest "goodbye".

They left after the ginger glared at her, and the only one hearing her low curse was Iceman, who watched everything attentively and followed them outside where the others were waiting.
Only then Dazai let go of Chuuya's waist, but he kept following by his side, obediently.

"I'm sorry" Piano Man was the first to speak "I didn't know Dazai was... You"

Dazai smiled "It's fine, how could you know. The little troublemaker was rescued that's what matters now"
He passed an arm over Chuuya's shoulder and turned his face at him. He was quiet, keeping his eyes away from everyone.

Lippmann and the others looked at Iceman asking mutely for an explanation for Chuuya's silence, but he just scrapped his nape like "I don't know anything"
"I'm taking Chibi home, then"

"You sure? You don't really have to. We don't wanna cause you any more troubles" Albatross said.

"Isn't this the reason why I came? Don't worry, I got the little beast under control" He completed poking Chuuya's cheek with his index finger.
"Are you done talking shit? Can't we just leave already?" He pushed his hand away with a scowl.

Dazai chuckled.

"Well" He turned to Chuuya's friends "It was a pleasure. Hopefully I'll get to see you all again"

"Oh yes, definitely" Albatross replied, nodding repetitively.
Chuuya stepped away first, rolling his eyes. They said their goodbyes and Dazai left with him.

"You know..." Albatross said looking in the direction the car had taken on the street "I like this dude"

And of course, the rest of them could only agree.
Silence. It was so heavy they could almost hear each other's breath.

Inside the car, neither Chuuya nor Dazai had spoken since they left the bar.

It was already late so the streets were mostly empty, still, the brunet was driving slowly, glancing at Chuuya from time to time.
He honestly didn't want their short time together to come to an end.

The ginger, on the other hand, was looking at the window, not really paying attention to anything outside. His mind was occupied with /other/ thoughts, focused on trying to keep his breath coordinated.
He was immobile, barely remembering to blink, except for his agitated fingers resting on his lap, demonstrating signs of nervousness, something Dazai couldn't have ignored.

"Are you cold?" Dazai asked in an attempt to break down the ice block between them.
Chuuya shrunk under his voice, shaking his head without looking at him.

"I'm fine"

"It's okay if you want to sleep,I'll wake you up when we arrive. Promise I won't do anything weird" He joked but Chuuya didn't reply.

Instead, he finally turned his head in the driver's direction
and kept staring at him.

Dazai let the seconds pass by, until he couldn't restrain his smirk anymore.

"I'm pleased to have your beautiful eyes on me, but if you want to say something just do it, Chibi" He moved his attention to him, eyes meeting for the first time since
they entered the car.

It took him a few seconds, as if he was searching for the right words.

"Why did you come?" But in the end, he was still the same Chuuya, asking things straightforwardly.

"Why shouldn't I?"

"There's a list of at least 100 fucking reasons"

Indeed, but...
"Have I ever denied any of your requests, Chuuya?"

"What?" Dazai noticed the redhead was exalted and anxious.

"Do any of your '100 fucking reasons' match with the fact that I told you myself to call me whenever you needed?"

"But I wasn't the one to call you..."
"But you wanted to. Didn't you?"

Chuuya pressed his lips. He could have easily lied and denied but honestly? He was too drunk for that.

"I thought so" The brunet concluded.

Sighing loudly, the boy by his side finally relaxed his until then, stiffened body.
"Fuck I'm sorry I feel like I keep involving you in my shit and dragging you down everything is a fucking mess I just don't know.. Anyways whatever I don't know what I'm saying"

He said without catching his breath, tripping on his words. Dazai was melting inside,
finding him extremely cute, letting a low giggle escape. Albatross was right, the ginger was /yet/ to sober up.

"Don't laugh!" He moved on the seat, impatient.

"Okay, sorry, sorry" He said, not really trying to stop the huge smile on his face.

"I'm just angry. Shirase...
That piece of shit. He is just like my ex. Just like everyone else. /Almost/ everyone I mean..."

That was the first time Dazai heard Chuuya mention an ex partner and he would be a wonderful /liar/ if he said he wasn't curious.

After all, the more he learned about the ginger
the better. Not like he wanted to know what others had done to his little angry man. /With/ his little angry man.

But it would be great to know the limits of /certain/ things, which line not to cross and which steps not to take that would make him feel uncomfortable.
It was like catching up with the long time it had taken for them to appear in each other's life.

"You are a magnet for troubles" Chuuya snorted ironically with the comment.

"Fuck yea... Luckily not you though" The last part was a mumble, as if he was just thinking out loud
and didn't really mean to /say/ it.

Dazai grinned, quickly glancing at Chuuya with the corner of his eyes, only to catch his vision fixed on Dazai's hands on the steering wheel.

Don't do this Chuuya. You're running to a road with no way back.

"How can you be so sure of that?"
He hummed, sliding his hand slowly, provocative, enjoying how Chuuya inhaled and held his breath "You don't know me"

Oh, that /hurt/ a little. He blinked, forcing his eyes to move from Dazai's hands to his side profile.

"Don't act as if you know everything!
You don't know me either..." A stingy sensation made him kinda sad to talk like that, as if they were just strangers at the end of the day.

The way Dazai looked at him, so softly with a discreet smile hovering his lips just made it worse. But it was
his /words/ that changed everything.

"Well... I'm starting to"

Silence fell upon them again, but a different kind. It was a good atmosphere of understanding and /reciprocity/. Chuuya was the one to break it.

"Dazai"

"Hm?" He arched an eyebrow, keeping his eyes on the street.
"Can you... Can we stop somewhere?" His voice was lower than usual.

"Need to throw up?"

"No, I just..." He sighed again "I just don't want to be alone at home yet"

Dazai frowned and looked at him. The boy had his body completely turned to him, but he was looking down,
ashamed, so /atypical/ of him.

It seemed like Dazai still couldn't understand the meaning of a broken heart. Possibly because in a normal circumstance, he would be on the opposite side, being the one to /break/ it.

But he could read a situation like no one else, and it wasn't
difficult to notice that Chuuya was screaming for /attention/ all over. He didn't pity him, just sympathized, something for what the ginger was grateful.

"Do you have anywhere in mind?"

The answer was twinkling like neon letters in a signboard for both of them: "Your house".
Despite rolling the words in his tongue, Chuuya never said it.

"No...I just need to cool my head down a bit"

And Dazai didn't say it either. It was /not/ the time. Chuuya needed to /talk/ not to get laid.

"I know somewhere nearby" Again, the advantages of driving a cab showing.
.
.
Chuuya had always been fond of the sea. As a curious being, staying face to face to something this big and unexplored was like preparing himself to jump into a new experience.

He was used to having his eyes constantly compared to it too.

When he was a kid, his mother
used to love the blue in them. His friends, back in his hometown, used to say they were always so sincere, emotions flowing like /waves/, easy to see them coming, hard to predict the damage.

/Fyodor/ used to say his eyes leaked too many feelings for unnecessary reasons.
Overreactive, desobedient, unruled, like a /tsunami/.

He used to say Chuuya needed someone to help him control it, to guide him through his own emotions.

He used to say Chuuya needed /him/, and he /believed/ it.

Staring at it now, in the middle of the night,
the feeling was different. There was no blue, only pitch black. Bottomless, ruthless, deep.

Just like everything and everywhere these days, all that mystery somehow reminded him a bit of /Dazai/.

Even though he couldn't see it in the dark, he still could listen to
the water movement, marking it's presence, assuring that it was there, /watching/ over him, even if it was unreachable.

It was good, the impression of being guarded, the sensation of /belonging/.

Chuuya was sitting on a bench in the bay when the cold, solid touch of
a water bottle pressed against his bruised cheeks woke him up from his thoughts, making him flinch.

"Guess we'll need to take care of it" Dazai commented.

"It's nothing. It was just a weak punch, I've dealt with worse before" Chuuya said catching the bottle and
sliding to the side, making room for Dazai to sit.

"I bet you have. Chuuya is a warrior!" He said with a big, proud smile on his face while sitting next to him, not too close but not too far either. Their legs slightly brushing against each other.

"Stop flattering me, I'm not
a child you need to feed the ego"

"I know, even though Chibi's height says otherwise..."

"Oh, fuck you" Chuuya's glare was enough to make him stop.

Dazai laughed opening his own water bottle. Chuuya's eyes were once again glued on every move of his hands. He wondered if
the ginger was aware of the way he /stared/ when he was drunk.

He only averted his eyes when Dazai led the bottle to his lips, gulping the liquid and small droplets ran through his chin.

"So..." The driver started, breaking the silence. It was fun to watch him get so shy, but
they weren't there for it "You wanna tell me what happened or..?" He left the question hanging in the air, up for Chuuya to decide.

The ginger lowered his head a bit, thinking.

"I don't know... Things are going wrong from the start, ever since I came to Yokohama. Or even
before that, so it's too much trouble talking about it"

"Oh? You never told me you weren't born here. I'm suddenly curious now"

"No" He shook his head "You don't wanna hear about that. It's a boring story, believe me"

Dazai raised an eyebrow and crossed his legs,
showing he had no intentions to leave so soon.

"Isn't it about you, though? I am interested. /Believe me/"

The ginger hated how Dazai was so good at playing words' game. He risked looking at him and allowed himself to get lost in the brunet's soft expression for a while.
Chuuya's head was spinning a bit and he couldn't focus his vision very well, but it just made him feel like he was indeed looking at the night sea.

Dazai's dark eyes seemed to move like a water current pulling him closer and /closer/.

That feeling of being guarded,
the sensation of belonging. It was there and it was /good/.

Blinking twice, he turned his head to look down again. Dazai created such a wonderful atmosphere just by the fact that he existed. He was discreet, but was so remarkable, the redhead couldn't
imagine living his days without him anymore.

A life without talking to him, seeing him almost everyday or merely /thinking/ about him was inconceivable now.

He wanted to learn more about Dazai and wanted Dazai to learn more about him.
Guided by those thoughts, he felt comfortable enough to open up and talk about the main things the led him to that night.

Chuuya was born in the countryside, a noble neighborhood and was used to have everything.

Everything, including very strict parents.
"They were never much affectionate, only caring about appearence and high scores. I always did my best to reach their expectations but no matter what I did, it would never be enough"

In Dazai's ears, it sounded a little sad, but more like something he had already overcome.
"They wanted me to follow their path as a doctor, but since I was very young I knew it was not what /I/ wanted. They knew that too and would still try to make my mind"

"I usually /tried/ to follow the rules and everything else, but it was impossible to do this all the time,
you know? Teenager stuff" He shrugged.

"And I bet Chuuya was a rebel. And a troublemaker" Dazai mentioned, caressing the bruise on his cheek.

"Ah... That I was" He smiled, enjoying the soft touch of the brunet's fingers.

"But the worst was when they found out what I
really like... What I /don't/ like to be more precise. I mean, that I don't like girls. I never really tried to hide and I guess they always knew it. /Seeing/ with their own eyes was the real thing"

He interrupted himself a bit, but Dazai remained quiet, patiently waiting
for him to continue.

"They saw me in a square with another guy. And you must be predicting what came next, right?"

"Hmm... Homophobic parents trying to rule your romantic life, I suppose?"

"That's what I expected too. The funny part of it is that it was nothing like this..."
"So..?"

"So... When I got home that night, dad was working on his laptop and my mom was on a phone call. They only told me they had already had dinner and that was it"

"Truth is that I got internally disappointed, so so fucking disappointed. I was so tense, believing they were
going to scold me, get angry or I don't know. I expected something, /anything/. But in the end we never talked about it"

"I never heard their opinion, if they did approve or disapprove and they never opened an opportunity for me to bring the conversation up"

"They never said
anything, but they didn't need to say it. It was already clear in their eyes, the disappointment and it /hurt/ more than any possible overreaction"

"From that day on, they never talked about my career choice, nor told me to follow their med path again, already considering me
a lost cause. And when I chose to move to college they were really happy for the very first time, but it was just an excuse to get rid of me"

"I was accepted in all universities I applied for" Dazai absentmindedly smiled to that.

"And could have moved to Tokyo where we have
family and I'd have a place to stay, but they didn't want me to be in contact with our relatives, it's like they were trying to /hide/ me from everyone, treating me like a stranger in my own house"

"And no, this is not only in my head, I am sure about that. Since I moved here,
almost 3 years ago, they never called me, not even once, including on my birthday. They never asked about my grades, my friends, nor if I needed something except money. And they never told me to go visit or spend holidays with them"

"They pay for everything I need and want,
as long as it keeps me away from /their/ house. In the start I did spend a lot of money with useless things as a way to call their attention. It's something I regret, acting like a spoiled brat, but in the end it didn't work anyways"

"I moved alone and had to resolve everything
by my own, only counting on them by the money they put in my bank account"

"It was... Lonely. Although I met a lot of nice people, it was weird. Especially on vacations, everyone used to go home and I was always the one to stay behind"

He bit his bottom lip, thinking about the
next part, unsure if he wanted to talk about /that/ with Dazai.

The brunet noticed the tension, and leaned his arm on the bench back, playing with the strands of Chuuya's hair. It was comforting and encouraging.

"And so I met... /Fyodor/. That fucker"
"Is this the ex you mentioned earlier" The question sounded more like a statement.

"Yea... But I don't think would be good talking about him"

"Unless you don't want to. Otherwise, please go on. I am a rational man, I prefer having actual facts to know why
I'm adding names to my hate list"

Chuuya giggled. It was magical how Dazai could turn tragedy into poetry without making any efforts.

"Well, Fyodor was a really cool foreigner guy. Many of us had a crush on him. And besides being handsome, he was nice,
a gentleman, easy to talk to"

"It was supposed to be just a night stand, but things developed too quickly and when I realized I had already moved with him"

"I was enchanted, he was too mesmerizing to be real. And indeed, it was great in the first months... Weeks? Until he
started showing his real character. Starting with the fact that I was the only one paying for our rent. And his... Uh... 'Aggressive' behavior kinda pushed my friends away"

"But I thought it was okay because I had him. He made me believe it was enough and maybe it was, after all
I needed someone to make me feel accepted and /wanted/. And to be wanted by someone like him seemed fascinating "

"With time, he stopped attending to my needs and only cared about himself. He never allowed me to go out with my friends, unless he accompanied me
and my friends never called me if Fyodor was to go too, so it was an endless cycle of not being invited and not being allowed to go"

"He though... He always had the worst excuses to go out with /his/ friends. The friends I barely got to meet because he was
jealous and used to say he was doing this to 'protect me from the wolves'. And I liked him so I trusted him"

"Of course he cheated on me once... Okay. He did this /several/ times. But I only heard and saw with my own eyes about this one time. And I forgave him because I was
afraid of being left lonely again, of never finding someone to replace him"

"And to force me believe in it, he did get a little better after the incident, but it didn't take long for him to return to his normal state"

"It's strange... Because I /knew/ he was manipulating me.
But exactly because I knew that, I thought I was safe and was able to defend and prepare myself for anything. It just... It's not how things work"

"Some days it was really hard to bear and one of those times I got a little drunk and called my mother, there was no one else
I could run to. She /impressively/ answered the call, but was busy with work and told me she would call me when she arrived home"

"...Apparently she never made it home, since she never called me back. And it's been more than a year"

"But there's one good thing I can say I won
from this shitty relationship"

"Once we went to an event of the uni sport's game and Fyodor left me all alone, he was too occupied with his friends" He said rolling his eyes.

"It was the day I met Albatross and the rest of the Flags. They made me company
and the 6 of us became inseparable"

"Despite Fyodor's behavior, they stood there for me since then, always helped me with literally everything and gave me the best memories I have of this city /so far/"

"Especially Albatross. We're like brothers and his parents are
wonderful to me, I almost have them as my parents too"

"Because of the Flags, I finally realized I didn't need Fyodor in my life. It wasn't love, it was dependency, I was just searching for /acceptance/"

"So we broke up. /I/ broke up with him. It was a difficult time.
He only wanted me to expose like a trophy he didn't take good care of. A fool someone who apart from paying for his living, was going to swallow all his rage and endure all the abuse"

"He caused me so much terror, I got traumatized to the point I no longer wanted to live alone.
I was scared that someone would arrive and do something, I don't know..."

"And I obviously couldn't stay there. Even if I kicked his ass out of that place, I didn't want to coexist with the bad memories"

"Albatross offered me his house, where I spent no more than 2 weeks, until
Piano Man introduced me to one of his friends, Adam"

"He came just in time because Tross and I can be best friends, but we would /never/ work out living together"

He laughed a bit, remembering some funny misunderstanding moments.

"It was his house too, his parents live there.
So it was great and safe, but needless to say I couldn't stay there forever"

"Adam is a nice dude. We get along well even though we have very distinct interests. Living with him is really good. He is quiet and because he was always studying so much we barely saw each other,
it was almost the same as being alone, but knowing I wasn't"

"He is a bit older and after he graduated last semester, he moved to Europe to start his career. He is amazing at what he does, so I don't think he will return so soon"

"He even left his keys on the kitchen's balcony
last time he came to visit us and they are still there. They will probably stay there for a long time..."

"I am used to living alone again now. But sometimes it's still hard..." He shut his lips. Dazai knew he was living one of those moments now"
"It's okay, Chibi. We can't be the strongest all the time"

"Hm" He nodded "It's also still complicated for me to get into a relationship with new people"

"Albatross suggested me using a dating app, where I could select the candidates better, but it seems like I'm horrible at
picking partners yet" He said sarcastically.

"We can see by Shirase, he was the first one I managed to get involved with after Fyodor. And some habits won't change even after you tell yourself you should change them"

"I accepted all the things he did and let him do
everything he wanted. /Almost/... Everything" He emphasized.

"Almost?" Dazai asked.

"Yea..."

"Can you elaborate?"

"Well, some things didn't happen, for example I didn't sleep with him"

"You're kidding, right?" Dazai remembered seeing hickeys on Chuuya's skin before,
of course he would remember every single inch of skin that, someday, /he/ wanted to be the one to mark - so the question came more exalted than the usual, making the ginger look at him.

"We did some stuff, but I never let him- We never fucked like... Literally speaking"

"Why?"
He didn't know if he /should/ ask,but he really wanted to know.

"I know it sounds like a virgin girl from a stupid shoujo manga but- He wasn't the one, like...After all that fucked up history with Fyodor I just basicaly didn't /trust/ him enough"

Oh- That changes /many/ things.
"So if it's someone you trust..."

"Yea" Chuuya replied before giving Dazai the chance to conclude his reasoning "Don't get me wrong. I like physical contact, I like /a lot/ of things related to it, I just... I need somebody else to..."

The way he gripped the edge of their seat
so tightly, would have never passed unnoticed by Dazai. Especially with the boy staring deeply at him and after hearing the words that followed next.

"I /want/ somebody else"

That sentence was almost like Chuuya was displaying
a paper and a pen for Dazai to sign his name in a challenging contract that read "I gladly aknowledge my title as 'somebody else"

And ah... He loved challenges. Only he could tell how /easy/ it would be to sign it.
"Chuuya" Dazai called without moving his eyes from his, not even to blink.

The redhead's pupils grew larger by hearing his name.

"Are you still drunk?" He thought the question was a joke but Dazai didn't change his expression. He was still serious, observant, /hunting/.
Not understanding the meaning of those words, he replied sincerely - an answer that would make him want to murder himself later.

"I am so fucking drunk I might forget everything by tomorrow morning"

The corner of Dazai's lips twitched.

"What a pity..." He mumbled, but
the ginger didn't understand why. Confusion was painted all over his face.

What a pity indeed. If it wasn't for that, Dazai was about to do something /crazy/.

The air was almost concrete and it was getting a little hard to breathe. The /tension/, it was there again and it was
so thick he could build a wall with it.

Not one between them, but one /around/ them, isolating them together from the rest of the world.

Chuuya was the most difficult little being to handle. He had just told him that he didn't let himself be touched by the guy he was
hanging out for weeks, because there was /somebody else/... There was /Dazai/, who he trusted more to be touched by instead.

In other words, he had just told Dazai that he wanted /him/.

But he was admittedly /drunk/. Even though it didn't seem like... He was fucking drunk,
probably also saying more than he meant to.

Yet, how dared him look in Dazai's eyes with the most /innocent/ expression, like a puppy waiting for permission to approach and get a head pat?

That Little Pumpkin was a real danger, exactly because
he didn't know the effect he had in Dazai.

He would just drop a bomb and hide himself from the explosion inside a fortress Dazai had no right to step inside.

He didn't even know if he could /believe/ in Chuuya's words right now, he would have to wait
/more/ for him to sober up and say them again.

And if he /meant it/... On the first crack of the barrier, Dazai would break and invade Chuuya's fortress with all he had. And he would have /no mercy/. A little revenge because the ginger didn't have any.
Cursing himself for leaving the cigarettes at home, Dazai was grateful for his brain to quickly come up with something else, so he could change the course of the conversation.

"What about Shirase earlier?" At this point he didn't care anymore. Nothing else mattered, but he felt
like Chuuya needed to talk about it as a relief.

/He/ needed a relief from the tension.

"Ah, yea, right. Shirase" He said the name with disgust "He made too many mistakes"

Dazai had a mocking expression, not really surprised with Chuuya's realization.

"Starting with breaking
our agreement of staying exclusively with each other. It was something /he/ came up with not long ago. He probably just wanted to use this as an excuse to fuck me by proving his loyalty"

"I also learned today that he never really liked me. Shirase doesn't like /men/, he is
actually straight. Or that's what he /says/ because he was always so invested when we were alone..."

"It's hard to resist to Chuuya, I'd say"

"Shut up, how could you know that"

"I wonder..."

Chuuya snorted.

"In the end it was all fake. It was nothing but a bet he had lost
for his friends and had to pay by going out with another guy"

"I guess he didn't expect to meet one of his secret dates in the party. Or perhaps he had planned it from the start, who knows, but he was the one to deliberately confess everything"

"You deceive everyone with your
pretty face but you're so fucking boring sometimes, Chuuya" The ginger remembered the bitterness of Shirase's words a few hours ago.

"It makes no difference anyways. I don't give a shit about him to be honest. I am mostly angry with myself because once again I let someone
step on my pride, while I just watched everything crumble in front of my eyes and did nothing to intervene"

"I grew used to it, believeing it was okay as long as I wasn't alone, even when everything was doomed to fail. Thought I could stand it,but here I am, empty handed. Again.
This time, there's /nothing/ good I can say I took from this relationship"

Nothing except...

With a deep inhale he cautiously looked to the side. To /Dazai/.

...Except meeting /you/.

The driver smiled softly when their eyes met, as if he was reading Chuuya's thoughts.
He raised his hand, guiding them to the ginger's face, but gave up midway, dropping them on the backrest again.

"I'd have found you, Chibi. In a better circumstance"

Chuuya lowered his head, trying to hide a smile. He liked that, their constant silent communication.

"I know"
He finally opened his water bottle, drinking half of it in one go. He was sleepy, dizzy, frustrated, angry and sad.

He was a mess, but not alone.

He could feel Dazai's eyes fixed on him. He was there with him, he was there /for/ him.
As he had always been since they met.

His eyes were indeed like the sea at night, an agitated but calming presence watching over him.

The soothing existance, carefully embracing him, followed by a suffocating tension, leaving no room to breathe. He loved both.
Chuuya seemed to be developing a preference now. Maybe he really did like the dark sea more, that mix of sensations.

And maybe... He just wished he could drown in them a little longer.
The rest of the ride was quiet. They were not far from Chuuya's place, but even so, the redhead ended up falling asleep, not waking up even when the car stopped moving, parked near his building.

Dazai was having /the/ moment of his life. Leaning his arms on the steering wheel,
he admired the boy peacefully sleeping on the seat next to him.

He was so close, yet so distant, so vulnerable, yet so confident. He had proven he trusted Dazai, maybe more than he /should/, but no less than he wanted him to.

His eyes wandered through his features.
From the disheveled, light strands of his fringe half covering his face, to the slightly furrowed eyebrows, to the eyelids covering the deep blue of his orbs.

The soft cheeks naturally splashed with almost unnoticeable freckles, that cute little nose and...
His /lips/, gently parted, in a silent invitation.

So kissable, so biteable. That would be /so easy/ to awaken the sleeping beauty like this. Otherwise...

His eyes kept sliding down to his neck, to the /choker/, the loose collar of his shirt revealing his collarbone
and what was underneath the fabric... Was still a mystery, up for his imagination to depict.

But otherwise he could wake him up with a pull on the choker trapping his skin, like he did at the bar.

Back then, Chuuya had surrendered so easily, so obedient,
how he wished he could replace the leather for his fingers. He knew they would fit just /right/.

The pressure wouldn't mean to hurt, just enough to feel the pulsation, the blood running hot inside his veins, in response to all the things Dazai wanted to do.

What kind of
reactions was Chuuya going to show? How much could he endure? Would he deny it? like it? Would he beg him to stop or beg for /more/?

With the first tighten of his pants, Dazai forced himself out of the fantasy and with a deep inhale, he led his eyes back to
Chuuya's angelic face, moving his strands of hair in an attempt to distract himself.

Feeling ticklish, Chuuya squeezed his eyes and twisted the tip of his nose, rubbing his face against Dazai's digits.

Okay. That was /so unbearably cute/. Dazai could spend the rest of the night
looking at him and teasing his sleep, but it was time to wake him up or else he was going to lose it for real.

Using a good amount of self control, he retreated his hand and left the car, turning around to open the passenger's door.
"Chuuya we're here" No response. Not a light sleeper then.

Dazai slipped his hand behind Chuuya's nape, holding tight, feeling the delicate, smooth texture of his thin hair.

"Chibi, come on" Chuuya only grumbled something impossible to understand, moving irritatedly
"Chibi, come on" Chuuya only grumbled something impossible to understand, moving irritatedly "Oh so you're going to play hard on me. Fine, I'm taking the challenge"

Dazai approached his face close enough to rub his nose on the ginger's earlobe.
A move that he might have regretted just a little because his /scent/ hit his lungs like a bomb of adrenaline.

"We're home, /baby/" He whispered, feeling Chuuya shiver in reaction and turn his head at him, startled.

Their faces close enough for
the redhead's wide eyes not be able to focus on his own. He was slow, processing what was happening but it was clear to Dazai that he was a bit lost.

When he finally realized what was going on, his eyes opened even more - if that was even possible - and he jumped back
on the seat, making Dazai raise his eyebrows and withdraw a bit.

"Wh-what-"

"We arrived!" he beamed.

"Oh" He said looking at the surroundings trying to recognize the place "Guess I fell asleep... What time is it?"

"It's still late, come, I'm gonna take you to your apartment"
He gently pressed Chuuya's nape forward and he followed the gesture, moving his heavy body out of the car.

All the alcohol that seemed to be dissipating climbed back to his head as soon as he raised on his feet. His head spinned like crazy and if it wasn't for
Dazai's hand supporting him by the waist, he would have gone to the ground before he could even notice.

"Fuck" He laughed to himself "I'm so dizzy" The light on the street was faint but he still had to blink repetitively trying to adjust his blurry vision.

"Don't tell me"
Dazai opened a crooked smile "I would have /never/ noticed if you didn't mention it"

He said in irony but Chuuya was too slow to take the joke to the heart, only giggling in response.

They made their way to the building with Dazai almost dragging Chuuya. He wasn't sure if
he was being lazy or was really /that/ sleepy and going through another drunken phase, barely standing on his own.

The doorman opened the gate as soon as he recognized Chuuya, arching an eyebrow when Dazai directed him a sympathetic smile followed by a "good night"

They stopped
next to the elevator, dealing with the first of the obstacles.

"Okay, Chuuya I need you to stay focused. Can you do that?"

"Hmm.." He replied, leaning his head on Dazai's chest.

"I need you to tell me which floor to go, unless you want us to sleep here in the hall"
Chuuya muttered something incomprehensible, muffled by Dazai's clothes.

"Say it again, Chibi, I didn't hear you" He said gently lifting his chin.

"Five one" He replied a bit too loud, his voice echoing /deliciously/ around them, before rubbing his head against
the driver's chest again, holding his shirt, a gesture indicating he didn't want him to let go.

As if Dazai would /ever/ do that.

He chuckled, pressing Chuuya's body even tighter against him.

Time was passing and the elevator was taking too long to arrive. Longer than
it should, considering that most of the other neighbors should be in bed right now. Was it broken?

Feeling Chuuya's deep breath and his weight increasing against his arm, he noticed the ginger was literally /sleeping/ while still standing and they would stay there forever if
they kept waiting for the elevator.

"Fine, let's take the difficult route then" Dazai sighed, turning to the stairway door on the side.

It was not an easy task to climb 5 floors with a drunk Chuuya clinging and supporting all his weight on him, but they made it.

When Dazai
stretched his arm to open the door leading outside the stairway, the redhead suddenly halted.

And there was no time to process anything before Chuuya forced his body behind, umbalanced, until his back hit a wall, with the brunet clumsily pressing him against it.
One of his hands kept firmly holding Dazai's collar, while his other arm encircled him behind his neck, making him lower his head.

Sticking their cheeks together, Chuuya blew hot air against Dazai's ear, panting.

"Dazai"

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck-
A red alarm indicating "danger" ringing loud inside Dazai's head.

"Chuuyaa" He said surprised with his own voice sounding a little supplicating "Stop, it's not fun" His body stiffened.

The ginger let his hand slide /slowly/ from the brunet's neck to his chest,
sending waves of electricity from head to toe.

Gripping the shirt covering Dazai's belly region he bent his forehead forward, leaning against the man in front of him again.

"Chuuya is drunk. Chuuya is drunk. /Chuuya. Is. Drunk/" Dazai kept repeating to himself,
embracing the small body clinging to him.

"It's okay, Chibi, I'm here. We're almost there okay?" He said trying to move but the other wouldn't let him "Come on, don't you trust me?"

He asked, waiting patiently, and only when Chuuya loosened the grip, he moved,
