THREAD: Congresswoman Vicky Jo Hartlzer cried in Congress today, begging, & praying that her colleagues would vote against The Respect for Marriage Act. Vicky Jo (@RepHartzler) was the face of the movement in Missouri to ban gay marriage.
In 2008, Vicky Jo Hartzler said “she doesn’t believe gay rights issues are civil rights issues. The “color of someone’s skin doesn’t change,” she said. But, she added, there is debate about whether homosexuality is a “lifestyle or they were born that way.” motherjones.com/politics/2010/…
Let me tell you: being gay isn’t a choice; being hatefully ignorant is.
Vicky Jo is headed out of town.
She ran for U.S. Senate and lost. She’ll leave Congress in January after serving 11 years.
Oh! “Vicky Hartzler’s gay nephew takes a stand against that family brand
“The Hartzler surname shouldn’t represent hate.” thepitchkc.com/vicky-hartzler…

I was checking Shreveport, LA. (where I used to work) news & saw this. Police shot a man who they say "lunged at the officers while holding a machete." Body camera video shows the man, walking AWAY FROM THEM, at good distance, WHEN COPS FIRED. ktbs.com/news/3investig…
The district attorney wrote a letter to the police chief stating that the police need to clarity the information given in the police reports because what the cops wrote conflicts with what the video shows.
According to the DA: Cops say the man lunged at officers. Video shows the man was "some distance" from cops at the time of the alleged actions and officer didn't fire at that point. They fired when he turned away from the cops and walked away.

Warning: You may 😂, at the cops.
At the end of that edited video, you hear one of the officers say to his police chief: “…I’m glad nobody’s recording because a couple police officers beating up on a couple old ladies…it was rough”
The arrests took place in June.
The tiny town of Wetumpka is taking these elderly women to trial.
The police threw the book at them: charges of criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and interfering with governmental operations. montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/news/loc…

Today, rescuers in Puerto Rico recovered the body of Jesmarilys Montesinos, 23. She was swept away by flash flood water last Saturday near a waterfall in Penuelas. Jacqueline Albright, 30, originally from Colombia, also died the same way. She had just moved to P.R., 4 days prior.
Jacqueline’s husband, Blake, has decided to take the body of his newly wedded wife back to Colombia, so that she can be buried alongside her grandmother and grandfather.
This was with the situation look like before the flash flood water came pouring over the waterfall.
