In 2018, I met with Jack Dorsey. I have never talked about this publicly before.
He assured me Twitter did not "shadow ban" accounts. Either he lied or these policies didn't take effect until later, which is plausible based on what happened next.
Within 6 months of our meeting, I began to notice severe throttling of certain posts that were obviously being suppressed. I reached back out to the executives I had previously met, and while attempting to get answers to the drop in engagement, they just stopped responding.
In 2019, Axios named my account as one of the Top 10 most engaged in the county. Then, in the run-up to the 2020 election, I witnessed a precipitous, massive drop in engagement. It was obvious at that point I was being directly targeted and censored.
While some Tweets still seemed capable of breaking through it became very rare, and after January 6, basically overnight, I lost 200k followers (presumably, according to Twitter at the time, these were bots?) and engagement was essentially dead.
For the next two years, I had zero engagement and zero follower growth, but Twitter would still trend "Charlie Kirk" if someone else tweeted about me.
Since Elon's purchase of Twitter, I've seen follower growth and engagement ramp back up significantly. Not quite back to 2018/2019 levels, but close.
Now we know why.
We will never know how much damage Twitter's censorship of my account and others' has done to the public discourse, the marketplace of ideas, my work at TPUSA, or the 2020 Presidential election. Twitter may be a private company, but this was digital tyranny, full stop.
I'm happy Elon Musk and Bari Weiss have confirmed my account was targeted, but every Twitter user deserves to know if they too were targeted in some way. Twitter should publicly release ALL information on shadowbans, no matter how large or small the target was. Let the truth out.

Imagine the phone company gives you a cell phone. You pick it up to call someone but it never connects. It only lets you talk to certain people and only certain people can call you. (1/7)
Now imagine, the phone company knows who it will allow you to talk to, but just to be evil, they don't tell you who you'll never talk to again. Your phone would be basically useless. (2/7)
That’s what Twitter had become. It was basically worthless. A warped and contorted echo chamber that simulated speech by controlling and manipulating which ideas the world was allowed to hear. (3/7)
The freedom caucus should be pushing for concessions out of McCarthy, not throwing the speakership to Dems. This is very dangerous and needs to stop. What is the plan?
Never Trumpers like Bill Kristol & Alyssa Farah are salivating at the prospect of McCarthy going down & the potential for Dems to cut a deal with moderate Rs for an anti-MAGA Speaker. Moderate Don Bacon is on the record saying that will be the plan if McCarthy loses.
I agree with the Freedom Caucus on nearly every issue. But when I spoke recently to a FC leader about my concerns, the plan was to “let the process unfold." Meanwhile, Democrats are hoping we can’t unify behind a leader and lose the House via a procedural vote.
Thousands of pedophiles in California are going free after just a few months in jail, thanks to the state's radically reduced penalties for child molestation.
One reason so many of these predators are going free so early is California lawmaker Scott Wiener.🧵
That name and photo might ring a bell. Wiener is one of the most effective lawmakers in the entire country. He's behind California's new law that will protect parents who kidnap their children and take them to California to receive mutilating surgeries.
Wiener was also behind California's law lowering penalties for intentionally spreading HIV to other people, and their law creating a third "nonbinary" gender for government documents.
Younger voters are 13 points LESS liberal than they were just 5 years ago according to Morning Consult
There are massive cultural and institutional headwinds, but younger voters are trending right over a period of time, despite what the media tells you. (1/5)
In 2008, voters under 30 voted for Obama by 34 points. In 2022, voters aged 30-44 — the same group of people — voted Democrat by just 4 points. Breaking the liberal stranglehold on young voters is difficult and takes time. But it is happening. (2/5)
Again, in 2008, voters under 30 voted for Obama by 34 points. According to CNN exit polls, today's 18-29 year-olds broke for Democrats by 28 points two weeks ago. That's a 6% improvement for Republicans since 2008. (3/5)
BREAKING: The Elections Integrity Unit of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office has officially demanded a response from Maricopa County "pertaining to issues related to the administration of the 2022 General Election in Maricopa County."
"These complaints go beyond pure speculation, but include first-hand witness accounts that raise concerns regarding Maricopa’s lawful compliance with Arizona election law."
"Furthermore, statements made by both Chairman Gates and Recorder Richer, along with information Maricopa County released through official modes of communication appear to confirm potential statutory violations of title 16."
If Kari Lake gets 64%+ she’s in the driver's seat and Hobbs has almost no path to victory
If Kari Lake gets 57% -64% she’s in a great spot and ensuing drops should only get better
If Kari Lake gets under 57% tonight it will be tough (but not impossible) for her to overcome it with the remaining ballots to be counted, it just depends how much below that mark she hits.
90K of the ballots remaining in Maricopa are from R+20 districts that Kari did very well in on Election Day. 70K~ from purple districts that Kari did rather well in on Election Day. We have no way to determine how tonight will be weighted between the two groups.
