Took a lot to decompress after our meeting last night.

But I thought I'd share some take aways 🧵

The owner of the MA just absolutely glared me down from the second I arrived in the room.

She interrupted me, spoke over the top of me, was patronising and tried at every opportunity to gaslight and belittle me.

A lot of our questions were met with answers that just took us round in circles.

They would not consider for one second that they made the wrong decision.

They made claims that they acted on guidance which has since been withdrawn.

Said guidance doesn't not state what they claim it does.

The responses were messy, we asked the key question of why they didn't get the cladding checked before they removed it.

They said that would have cost £10,000. They then said it would have cost £70,000.

My favourite part was when I said that it cost £15,000 to remove the cladding.

They argued £10,000.

I said it was in the accounts.

They said it was £10,000 + vat.

(the maths doesn't math)

To which I said that was still £15,000.

We went round and round in circles, they didn't really answer our questions.

Board sat there in relative silence.

One of them kept muttering about me under his breath. So I kept asking him if he had something to say. He didn't.

Same board member, when I dared smile, asked if I thought it was funny because "she's laughing"

I informed him rather loudly that I didn't think it was funny at all. I don't think it's funny that my home is damp, mouldy and cold.

They really don't think they did anything wrong. They continue to add in new parts to the story, despite us asking questions for a 18 months.

It just seems so disingenuous that the story is forever evolving and changing, and we have asked SO many times and they still, to this day, can't tell us the process.

We just cling to the morsels they throw our way.

Every meeting or interaction a new part of the story comes out.

They just never seem to be able to share what happened.

Anyway, after an hour of going in circles and they were clearly not going to help us understand any further, or truly understand our point, we gave up trying.

Even with the mountains of evidence against them pointing towards their negligence they wouldn't admit that they were wrong.

So we said a nice little closing statement, and then raised a motion to call for the directors removal, which I would say about 95% of the room and proxies voted for.

We then elected three new members to the board.

I did ask the MA for assistance in calling the vote, as to how its done correctly and was told "we aren't company law experts"

Which is odd because they knew how to hold a vote back in May 🤔🤪

So we went with someone nominating, someone seconding and that was that, until we'd elected all thee.

Then we informed the MA how disappointed we had been with how we've been treated and informed them that we were terminating their contact and details would follow.

Did they know it was coming? I don't think so at first. They were there to control that meeting and push through their agenda.

They talked us round in circles, they doubled down and they were trying to undermine me every step of the way.

I think it clicked near the end that we were going to replace the board, or have people join them.

I don't know if they really expected us to just call for their resignation however, and I don't know if they thought we'd just force their removal.

They would have known, however, that 14 members that couldn't attend registered their proxy vote.

They would have known that level of support was strong.

I don't think the managing agent thought we'd sack them off however.

I didn't look at them but others have said they looked shocked.

It was obvious from last night that we weren't going to move forward with these people in charge.

It was the only option.

So, power to the people.

We did it.

I did it.

My legs were wobbly & my voice and hands were shaking.

But you know what, you should always stand up and make your voice heard, even if you're shaking.

Today we start our next chapter.

We have a new MA lined up, we have 3 new directors, and we have a 1 month handover period.

Our work is far from done but we have hope at last.
