As part of my research, I began connecting with PMs to make sure this job was one that fit my interests and skills.
I discovered that the #prdctmgmt community was incredibly supportive and kind
Months 5-7: The Interviews
I was lucky enough to have a number of Product interviews in the late-spring.
Despite making it to the final round, none of these interviews worked out.
Months 8-10:
A couple more interviews that didn’t work out, this time because of life
In October I received an offer that was rescinded (I asked for a delayed start date due to the passing of a family member and instead they rescinded the offer)
I think I dodged a bullet there
Month 9: Building Product You
Jumping back a month, I joined @asbowker’s first ever cohort called Building Product You
This was the first time I’d be investing my money into getting into product
The cohort proved to be incredibly insightful and worth every penny
Month 11 - 12: My Own Products
In Nov and Dec, I’ve decided to focus on my own products
I’ll be building out my products and working on a third one to come✨
I’ll also be joining @IntheLabPM for their second cohort in January 🎉🎉
Despite not having pivoted to product yet, I’ve met wonderful people, learned more than ever, and found a career that checks so many of the boxes I thought would remain unchecked.
Thankful for 12 months since I joined the world of PM, I know the next 12 will be even better 😄🥳
