Ah, the story isn't that NBC News screwed up, it's that people noticed.
Nowhere in this story is there an explanation for why NBC News reported these details. Did someone lie to the reporter? If so, who? Did HE lie? If so, why?

Details, details. The important thing is that we noticed, which makes us "conspiracy theorists."
