Western leaders are so consumed by hubris they honestly believe that Russians would like to see their country splintered into bite-sized statelets that remain open to the voracious exploitation of the western oil giants, mining corporations & the Pentagon. globalresearch.ca/washington-pla…
The US foreign policy establishment still resolutely asserts Washington’s right to dominate Central Asia and to regard any competitor in the region as national security threat. Russia and China have now been identified by US National Security Strategy as “strategic competitors”.
The ultimate goal of the US is to prevent any alternatives from emerging in Europe and Eurasia to Euro-Atlantic integration. This is why the destruction of Russia is one of its strategic objectives. Redrawing Eurasia: Washington’s Maps of a Divided Russia. theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…
Empires have historically exploited war-making as a tool for physical expansion and the appropriation of foreigners’ resources. Roman Republic leader's were also heads of its consular armies, which were expected to go out each spring to expand the Empire. globalresearch.ca/war-without-en…
More recently, Britain engaged in constant colonial wars over the course of centuries to establish history’s largest empire. USA’s dominant neocons characteristically believe they have inherited the mantle of empire and of the war powers that go hand-in-hand with that attribute.
Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq as well as other minor operations in Latin America, Africa and Asia, American war-making has brought nothing but grief on those on the receiving end with no positive to show for the death, destruction & accumulated debt. sites.evergreen.edu/zoltan/interve…
The U.S “Screaming Eagles” have been deployed three miles from Ukraine. It all could have been different. When the Soviet Union fell and the Cold War ended, NATO could have disbanded, and a new security arrangement created which included Russia. But no. 1/ counterpunch.org/2022/10/27/cro…
It is evident now that countries who sought NATO membership would have been better protected under a security arrangement with Russia as a member. But that would leave the War Industry without an enemy and, accordingly, without profits. Military industrial profits matter most.
Haven’t they taken us here twice before? This is strike three for us and quite possibly for all. If we all live through this proxy war the U.S is fighting with Russia, we must fully realize our power as members of the masses and be relentless in pursuit of global systemic change.
When McKinsey Comes to Town: The Hidden Influence of the World’s Most Powerful Consulting Firm. New York Times reporters Bogdanich and Forsythe’s devastating investigation into the consulting firm uncovers a story of secrecy, delusion and untold harm. theguardian.com/books/2022/oct…
For many years, the firm promoted Enron as the new model of corporate innovation. Immediately before Enron became the biggest corporate bankruptcy in US history, its top five executives took nearly $300m in wages in one year alone.
Remember the he $83.7m in fees McKinsey received for marketing advice from the pharmaceutical company Purdue to “turbocharge” the sale of the painkilling drug OxyContin, which in turn fueled the opioid crisis, related to half a million deaths.
Ethiopia is a touchstone for exposing American and European crocodile tears and duplicity over their machination in Ukraine against Russia. The United States, the European Union, and other Western governments are doing nothing to avert the war in the Horn of Africa. 1/
Concern for Ukraine is a cynical geopolitical game to do with confronting and subduing Russia. We know this because millions of people suffering in Ethiopia register hardly a blip of attention, never mind condemnation, among Western governments and media.
Indeed, the Western lack of concern about Ethiopia is not merely due to apathetic indifference. Arguably, the United States and its dutiful European allies share responsibility for the humanitarian disaster in Africa’s second-most populous nation.
There are no less than five overlapping and interlinked ‘wars’ underway – and they need to be clearly differentiated to be well understood. 1/
These last weeks have witnessed several epochal shifts: The Samarkand Summit; the OPEC+ decision to reduce the oil production and President Erdogan’s explicit declaration that “Russia and Turkey are together; working together”.
Bedrock U.S. allies, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE, India, South Africa, Egypt and groupings such as OPEC+ are taking a major step toward autonomy, and toward the coalescence of non–Western nations into a coherent bloc – acting to its own interests and doing politics ‘its own way’.
