🤣 this also repeats the dumb idea that primary care doctors should specially counsel unvaccinated people about driving 🤣

How stupid! Will that lower accidents? (pure speculation)

This only tells you that MMWR obs studies of VE are 💩

fortune.com/well/2022/12/1…
The authors are basically running a falsification test, and they find a ridiculous relationship. And then the media tries to spoon feed us the dumbest explanation I've ever heard in my life. Rather than accept the more plausible scenario that these are different groups of people!
Ten years ago, we studied when observational study authors end their paper with unfounded baseless claims

Nothing changes

Unvaccinated people more likely to play the nickel slots rather than high stakes poker!

Our study doesn't suggest that vaccination causes a love of slot machines, but it does suggest that unvaccinated people should be taught high stakes poker!

🤣🤣🤣🤣 #TheScience

🤣🤣🤣 they seriously think the take away is to advise the unvaxd to drive more carefully

The take away is that vaxd and unvaxd have differences other than vax & this matters

Also there is no evidence that the advice works better for unvaxd 🧵🧵

sunnybrook.ca/research/media…
It's possible that telling people to drive safely doesn't change outcomes, irrespective of vaccine status, or is beneficial irrespective of vaccines status, there's no basis in science to counsel one group, but not the other.
This is all nonsense. They don't even understand the implications of their research. The implications of their research that are most interesting is that most vaccine effectiveness population studies are horse shit

The perfect photo to sum up 5 days of bone marrow transplant & blood cancer docs conference #ASH22 👇

Not a mask in sight, packed indoor setting
Multiply this x10000

It's time to end the charade
Stop virtue signalling
Abolish masking in hospitals
sensiblemed.substack.com/p/its-past-tim…
These docs work on allogenic & autologous bone marrow transplant. They are 100% correct for not wearing a mask. It is illogical and nonsensical to wear masks after vaccination.

It had no good RCT data pre-vax
Post vax it is a delusion
Covid will infect ~all people
Vax & done
We have a crisis of poor thinking
Poor thinking is what led to bivalent booster being approved in children with no credible data

Poor thinking is omnipresent in COVID19 policy online

In real life, sanity and humanity win

This will be the BEST THING you read in a long time👇

An East Coast Infectious Disease Doc & Prof analyzes why no one wants to go into ID even AFTER A PANDEMIC

The analysis is damning. Fauci, Covid zealotry, virtue signaling, and so much more!!
WOW!
vinayprasadmdmph.substack.com/p/why-no-one-w…
Some ID docs boycott Emily Oster. How sad is it that you can't even talk to people who were pro-school opening?
#1 they were right, & you were wrong
#2 you are an adult who can't have an adult conversation.

To me this is intensely pathetic, but increasingly common
ID docs are making statues of Fauci, but honesty means you have to acknowledge that he was 100% wrong about schools & he went on TV and said thing that harmed a generation of poor kids

ID docs need to be honest about Fauci, who is a flawed man, like all men, clutching power

This thread is concerning bc a great novelist has been so mislead about the goals of pandemic policy.

All you can do in the long haul is to meet the virus the first time with the best odds. That means optimized medical problems, and vaccinate. After that, nothing to be done
Avoiding the virus indefinitely is not an option. It's far too contagious. Societies will destroy themselves trying to do so. As China flirts with.

You can't avoid the unavoidable. Delaying it, at great cost, certainly has no upside, and may even have downside.
It's disappointing that she views any criticism as from the political right. There are plenty of us, far on the political left, who are critical of the deranged zero covid ideology that's so captivated so many.

I believe the purpose of regulatory agencies is to hold corporations accountable. Yes, you can sell your product for money on the u.s market, but we need proof that Americans are better off as a result.

Regulators keep corporations honest.
This decision is a failure ....🧵
Children face the absolute lowest risk from the virus. And now, in America at least 86% of children have had and recovered from COVID-19, combined with novel strains like omicron, the risk to a child going forward is much lower than it was in the beginning, when it was low
It is inappropriate to use emergency use authorization, a more flexible regulatory standard, for situation that is in no way shape or form an emergency.

That benefits Pfizer
It hurts the American people

A reminder #ASH22
Uncontrolled smoldering myeloma trials are unethical

1
They don't answer a useful clinical question
100% test drugs already given in Myeloma
Of course they will be 'safe' in a pre malignant state

2
They can't tell you if OS or HRQoL is better with Tx
🧵
Early vs treating at progression

The Spanish study was not powered for OS, and positive OS results are likely untrue. Not to mention no PET, and unbelievably bad treatment on progression

ECOG study has not shown OS or HRQoL benefit
Doesn't tell us whether prog was irreversible
Uncontrolled trials cannot answer a meaningful question, and trials that cannot answer a meaningful question squander patients are are unethical

We detail that here
