⚔️🔥 𝐄𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐭 & 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 (@EYnews) is one of the largest enterprises in the world, generating $𝟒𝟓.𝟒𝐁 in 2022.

The following thread explores their connections to $QNT, and whether or not they might be white-labeling #Overledger. 🧵⬇️

One of the “Big Four” accounting firms alongside @Deloitte, @KPMG, and @PwC, Ernst & Young (EY) is one of the most popular ‘professional services’ firms on the planet.

✍️ Companies like Amazon, Apple, Intel, Coca-Cola and GM hire them for consulting, assurance and tax services.

EY has 𝟕𝟎𝟎+ offices in 𝟏𝟓𝟎+ countries & employs more than 𝟑𝟔𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 people. 🤯

Their consulting arm, which offers guidance to clients on things like technology transformation, is their fastest growing division, generating $𝟏𝟑.𝟖𝐁 in 2022, up 𝟐𝟕% from 2021.

Blockchain has been a focus of EY’s for years.

🤝 @Microsoft, @SAP, @ConsenSys, and @0xPolygon are some of their largest blockchain partners, facilitating complete product integrations for enterprises around the world.

EY’s flagship blockchain product is called 𝐎𝐩𝐬𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧. ⛓️

Through its “Contract Manager” & “Traceability” solutions, OpsChain allows companies to run shared supply chain processes with partners for procurement, inventory, logistics, invoicing and account management.

↔️ OpsChain has achieved interoperability between public & private blockchains, as outlined in this diagram from one of EY’s decks.

💻 In May 2022, EY announced the launch of 𝐎𝐩𝐬𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐏𝐈 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬.

These APIs allow enterprises to deploy smart contracts and mint, transfer and burn tokens on Ethereum and Polygon, directly from their organization’s existing infrastructure.

It’s unclear if OpsChain moves assets b/w chains or just data, but it was just 1 month prior to OpsChain’s API launch that Quant released their API support for Polygon mainnet.

$QNT is the only enterprise-grade, API-driven, blockchain interoperability solution I know of.

The EY press release also stated that “Multiple EY clients have been using early versions of EY OpsChain APIs since 2021.”

Wonder if that was around the time $QNT CEO Gilbert Verdian visited their offices that October… ⬇️

As he alluded to in his tweet, 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐭 & 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 at that very same London office for 4 years as a Senior Security Manager earlier in his career.

@Quant_Network is now based out of London as well.

This is interesting—

EY’s Enterprise Blockchain Lead for Tax & Global Trade, John Robotham, is one of the most active members of SATP (Secure Asset Transfer Protocol).

Formerly known as ODAP, SATP is an open-source digital asset interoperability protocol founded by Quant & MIT.

Robotham participates in nearly every weekly Zoom call, and even flew to London to attend SATP’s most recent presentation to the IETF.

$QNT CEO Gilbert Verdian, CPO Martin Hargreaves, and Head of Innovation Luke Riley were also in attendance that day.

In the Zoom call just prior to the London presentation, 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐘 𝐢𝐬 “𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠” 𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐏.

While this doesn’t mean EY is using $QNT, it sure puts them on a similar trajectory.

I can’t say for sure if EY is white-labeling $QNT.

What I will say, however, is with their API interoperability solution connecting public/private blockchains and legacy systems, a deep interest in SATP, and Gilbert’s links to EY, I definitely wouldn't bet against it.
