🧵Update on the #SD50 race.
Both parties as well as @ocboe and Oswego County Board of Elections appeared in court today. The Oswego County Board of Elections has been advising the parties of some tabulation errors that were corrected.
After both parties reported our final figures they were:
Mannion 61597 (50741 Onondaga, 10856 Oswego)
Shiroff 61580 (42745 Onondaga, 18835 Oswego)
The parties agreed there was a margin of Mannion +17. The parties also had 187 objections to ballots to start the day.
Of the 187 objections 79 were withdrawn by the parties.
Of the remaining objections Judge Delconte reserved decisions on 100 ballots to issue a ruling on those soon. From the bench the judge overturned the decisions on 8 Oswego County ballots.
The results of those overturned ballots resulted in a -2 vote for Mannion. Now leaving the total spread at +15 Mannion. We have been promised a ruling on the remaining 100 ballots shortly. Once processed both counties will report numbers to the state board for final certification
Important Caveat, this is all my observations in court today. The judge when he issues his ruling may change or clarify statements and musings from the bench.

This week I talk about the draft maps released by the Special Master Johnathan Cervas. These maps, if approved, will serve as the NY congressional maps for the August 23, 2022 primary and for the next ten years.
#sd50 which @RachelMayNY will presumably be the incumbent in is wholly contained in @OnondagaCounty and has @Syracuse1848, Salina, Cicero, Clay, Lysander, Van Buren, Elbridge and is a D+21.78 district
#sd53 with @SenJohnMannion will presumably be the incumbent has the rest of @OnondagaCounty (Camillus Geddes, Marcellus, Onondaga, Spafford, Otisco, Fabius, Lafayette, Tully, Pompey, Dewitt, Manlius) and goes East through Madison County and up into Utica.
I am glad the court gave candidates an option to decide where they run, the new #ny22 draft is a good reason why. The district shifted dramatically west adding Oneida & losing Tompkins and Cortland and Cayuga. this will leave alot of questions about who is running where. 1/4
On the GOP side both declared candidates @Sigler4Congress (Tompkins) and Brandon Williams (Cayuga) are out of district. @claudiatenney lives in district but said she was moving to run in #ny23. 3/4
