Speaking at @InnovationHubUg, our CEO @sylmulinge welcomed everyone that joined us today as we launch yet another initiative to supplement government and other partners’ efforts in tackling the issue of unemployment in this country through leveraging ICT. #DoingGoodTogether

The MTN Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of ICT is today unveiling a nationwide youth-centered program aimed at equipping youths with skills to unlock the entrepreneurship, innovation and job creation possibilities in this country. -@sylmulinge, @mtnug, CEO

This initiative is core to what we do as it aligns with our ambition to lead digital solutions for Africa as well as our commitment to be a key government partner in the National development efforts of Uganda as stipulated in the NDP and Vision 2023 government goals.

Studies indicate that 77% of Uganda is under the age of 30 and its population is set to double by 2060. There are not enough jobs available. Youth unemployment is already high and will likely continue to rise as the population grows. -@sylmulinge , CEO @mtnug #DoingGoodTogether

It is against this background that MTN Foundation Uganda and its partners have introduced the MTN ACE targeting a wide base of youths in Uganda including; fresh graduates, innovators and entrepreneurs, as well as those still in or out of school. -@sylmulinge , CEO @mtnug

This is all aimed at nurturing an all-around workforce with the requisite skills for the 21st- century job market, as well as generating a pool of job creators in an effort to alleviate the current unemployment dilemma that the youth in Uganda are currently facing.

The MTN ACE campaign brings to the public three MTN Foundation programs which include; the MTN ACE Tech program which focuses on upskilling the youth interested in tech-related innovations.-@sylmulinge , CEO @mtnug #DoingGoodTogether

Under this, as seen in our tour, we have also equipped the National ICT innovation hub with state-of-the-art equipment to enable innovators to prototype and incubate their ideas into feasible businesses. -@sylmulinge , CEO @mtnug #DoingGoodTogether
