Even though not a fan of comparisons, here are few facts you cannot ignore while comparing Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. Also, they are two different legacies and why cannot they be compared:

Virat Kohli plays for BCCI. Babar plays for PCB. Annual revenue of BCCI is more than 40,000 crore rupees, while annual revenue of PCB is 800+ crore. Count the difference between salaries and available facilities for both players.

While beginning his international cricket career, Virat had already been exposed to a competitive environment through the IPL. He had much better mentorship and coaching available than Babar. PSL was launched after Babar had made his international debut.

Babar had to wait a long time to play in front of his home crowd. Till now, Babar has played only 21% matches of his career in Pakistan. Virat has played almost 40% matches in India.

When Virat started playing, he had company of Sachin, Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. At the initial stage of his career he had the shoes of Sachin Tendulkar to fill. Babar went to the Pakistan team in a transition phase with a lot more responsibility on him.

Virat took the captaincy from MS Dhoni almost after 7 years of his debut. Enough time to develop at the international stage. Babar started captaining the side after 3-4 years of batting career.

Virat plays Cricket in a country where it's just a sport. In Pakistan, Cricket is affected my multiple external factors of international politics. Tours get cancelled, uncertainty of participation.

There are a lot more differences related to team balance, reliability of team on you, number of games against stronger teams, coaching and others. Still, these two compete fiercely which is a grace to the game itself. Feel free to add more differences if you feel any.
