It's only a matter of time before Elon hands the algorithm over to the people who brought you Pizzagate and Macron Leaks, and the dopes who will pay $8/month for the privilege of reading "journalism" by the likes of Matt Taibbi and Bari Weiss.

If you are a legacy media institution, Elon has explicitly stated that he is coming for you. Just as his far right pals want to destroy the institutions of a democratic society like public schools and higher education, Musk is seeking to destroy journalism.

At this point, I think I’m done producing content for this malevolent thug who is using his power and platform to target violence at others.

Thread on what Elon has been doing recently with his power and his platform.
He’s basically going “Libs of Tik Tok” on a former Twitter employee on the basis of zero evidence, siccing a bunch of angry Q conspiracy nuts on him.
This’ll be great for his ability to recruit workers for his company in the future I’m sure. “Don’t mess up, or I’ll encourage a bunch of tin foil hat wearing vigilantes to show up at your house.”

For folks who were alive in the 1980s or 1990s, whenever you hear a politician like Ron DeSantis refer to "woke gender ideology" just swap in the old phrase "homosexual agenda" and you'll get a clear picture of what he's up to.

This was my first experiment with Twitter spaces. It was weird, but an interesting way to spend time on a Friday night I guess. One thing I learned was that you should have multiple hosts so someone can vet people who ask to speak.
For example, this Nazi a-hole showed up at the end spouting BS about the Jewish conspiracy. Had someone just taken 10 seconds to look at his timeline it would have been an easy decision not to turn the mic over to him.
I also spent a lot of time going back and forth with someone whose TL is filled with Candace Owens memes and anti-vaxx stuff and other brain worm material. I probably would have cut my losses more quickly had I known who I was talking to.

Elon's Twitter is a bit like if a high school turned over the school newspaper to the school's TPUSA chapter and the Ayn Rand Objectivists club and gave them access to all of the students' records and teachers' emails.
