Indigenous leaders have every right to be angry for not being consulted when it comes to the #SovereigntyAct#SKFirstAct Before you start blockading, take a drive around your reserve. Why are you giving the Feds a pass for the third world conditions we live in? 1/
This is an opportunity for Premiers to open that door for partnerships. Start working with Indigenous leaders even if your acts don't directly impact them. Indigenous leaders need to stop this grand standing and start coming up with solutions for their communities! 2/
If we are looking at sovereignty, we will have to work with the feds and the provinces otherwise how will this play out? Working on a framework would probably be in everyone's best interest.

Canadians believe we have a role to play in global energy security. More than six in 10 agree (35 per cent) or somewhat agree (26 per cent) that we should expand oil and gas exports to help the world have more secure and reliable energy. 1/
Not surprisingly, support was strongest in the Prairies (77 per cent agree/somewhat agree), but it was consistently high across the country (67 per cent in Ontario, 61 per cent in Atlantic Canada, and 54 per cent in British Columbia). It was lowest in Quebec (44 per cent). 2/
The politics of energy and climate are shifting in other ways as well - high inflation and energy prices. If inflationary and economic challenges continue, politicians will face a very discontented electorate. 3/
MSM is awfully quiet about the protests in Toronto and Montreal. Or that truckers are gathering and rolling into major cities. Videos on TikTok are showing a whole other side to Canada that is hidden.
People will do as they wish when it comes to vaccines. Here is my story. Early 2021 covid hit my community hard. My cousin and her family all tested positive. Her dad ended up in ICU and she was in the hospital. She came out with lung damage. /1
She also struggled with a myriad of health issues after including hair loss and depression. Her dad spent months in ICU and is still recovering. The same time another family tested positive. 2/
The aunt who would be around 56/57 passed away. The nephew ended up in ICU for weeks. He too made it home with an oxygen tank. 2 adults, one barely 30 and another mid 30s on an oxygen tank. Vaccines weren't offered to our age category yet and I was getting concerned. 3/
Indigenous people are being used when it comes to climate change.
There is one truth to this concept. Everything changes; the weather, seasons and this is something we have no control over. You got the wording right, just not the concept. 1/
What we can change is what we emit. Can we capture these emissions and either reuse, reduce or recycle? Technology and existing infrastructure can help us reduce these emissions but we are not including the right people in this conversation? 2/
If we replaced coal with natural gas in Asia, we would meet our Paris accord goals "globally". We cannot do this if we taking an all or nothing approach to oil and gas. So before we create a villainous industry, ask yourself, are hindering or helping climate change. 3/
