My ICANN/FBI/Political 2023 prediction:

ICANN will designate #ENS and #UnstoppableDomains as potential dangers to the domain name space. They are a centralized target (ENS + UD = 10 TLDs) vs. #Handshake with over 8,600,658 TLDs.

This will be highlighted by a handful of examples where users clicked on a link they saw as a domain name (it has the dot, and was linked, so I clicked it) and were opened up to some type of malware that installed IP redirects for the most common websites (google/amazon).

This will happen during a crash of the economy when ICANN can save the day by doing anything to curtail theft online. This will have the side benefit of normalizing people to seeing ICANN as a "safety net" of sorts for the internet. But then...

The real underlying reason for introducing the public to domain name "dangers" will be when the FBI/3-letter agencies start to unplug websites on normal TLDs/gTLDs and mark them as "dangerous" and the public will sleepwalk through it, equating those to dangers from 🧵1/&🧵2/

🧵5/ In the same way that the FBI/DHS has performed similar actions on social media, these same intelligence (using the word loosely) officers will be refocused on a higher level of the internet. My guess? various alt-right substacks/infowars/anti-gov sites go away first.

🧵6/ Next, websites that provide person to person sales (Craigslist/etc) will be marked and publicized as funneling illegal services/dangerous products and will highlight something to do with guns/drugs and children. ICANN complies = unplugs the danger. Reality = 🚫Tax Loopholes

🧵7/ This will be followed up by any website that establishes and sells "prepper" information and/or goods/services. They will be aligned with alt-right wingers/conspiracy theorists from 🧵5/ and based in the mainstream media. ICANN complies and unplugs.

🧵8/ The outcry will start to happen around this time as normal freedom lovers begin to feel the noose around their necks and start to see the writing on the wall. Why would they not be next in having their business' website unplugged by ICANN/FBI for their political views?

🧵9/ And then, the ultimate goal appears to save the day. We need to all have a publicly verified access key to use the internet. This will be rolled out with all the bells and whistles that @coinbureau laid out in a recent video ⚡️📺highly suggested🎯

🧵10/ Here is the point where $HNS #Handshake #HNS rapidly rises from used by a few to used by everyone. This will create a separate internet that already exists, but is rarely used. ICANN knows about Handshake (LearnHNS.com) but can't do much to stop it.

🧵11/ Add the decentralized hosting of @akashnet_ among others who also will have immutability baked in from the start, and the second layer of the free internet will be here and ICANN/FBI/3-lettered agencies will go hard in the paint w/ Digital ID and present it as "safety-net".

🧵12/ Here's where @elonmusk + @SpaceXStarlink will provide the infrastructure for a decentralized web to the public, worldwide. If there ever was an end game to secure the internet, and make it difficult to hack, 12,000 🛰️🛰️ more than an arm's length away from ICANN/FBI will do.

🤝My hope? It never happens. But the entire reason to create a decentralized internet, from the TLD/Domain names, to the storage, to the infrastructure serving the data, is required to create a layer of redundant freedom for the world. We need Immutable Decentralization.🎯
