My son Owen thinks he's responsible for yesterday's record-breaking comeback win because he put his "lucky Vikings socks" on, after halftime, almost EXACTLY when Minnesota started making up their 0-33 deficit. I'm not sure I disagree... the socks line up with every win this year!
After the 1st win, Owen felt sort of responsible because of his socks. So it became "a thing" where we give him a hard time about not wearing them when we lose and thank him for the win when he wears them... But it's scary how often the sock-wearing lines up with wins/losses!
His uncle, Matt started playing along but started getting serious about Owen's sock-wearing as every game seemed to line up with whether or not he was wearing the socks lol. Owen was WAY onboard. He knew the responsibility he had taken on. It was bigger than him at this point...
"With great power comes great responsibility"
Things didn't always go according to plan, however. Emotions can get elevated when there's a lot on the line...
