Argentina's wait of 36 long years for a World Cup trophy ends. A generation-long wait! That is really something, isn't it. To see something you have been waiting all your life being fulfilled? To see that sense of happiness on the faces on your players and your fellow fans? +
That agony of the decades-old long wait evaporating into the thin, cold air of the night, drowned out by the roar of the fans, that sense of lightness, of closure, of a sense of a weight being lifted from your heart. The long wait that you thought would never end. Redemption. +
I hope I will also be able to experience that feeling during my lifetime. We've been waiting to experience that feing of redemption for the past 48 years. The agony, however, continues with no end in sight, the weight of which gets heavier every four years. It is depressing.+
Three World Cup finals, only to fall in them all. It hurts so bad. Maybe we are cursed to live with the weight forever, to disappointedly watch everyone but us rejoice. This is why I am happy for the #Arg fans. Because I can imagine what their ecstasy must feel like.
Our wait continues. To experience that feeling. To see the "best team in the world to never win a World Cup", the team that has played the most number of final matches without winning, lift the World Cup. Maybe it will happen in my lifetime. Then we will share your happiness.
Maybe I will also get to celebrate my team winning the World Cup one day.

The Syrian Christians have long since ditched humility and austerity for no holds barred materialism. For two generations now they've been the vainest, flashiest and most pretentiously ostentatious community in Kerala, pioneering the culture of profligate high-life.
The general hedonism of the Syrian Christian community in the form of infamously massive mansions and gaudy churches, insatiable epicureanism and frenzy to acquire multiple cars and other consumables, etc have made them the original torchbearers of consumer culture in Kerala.
Yes, the top class of the community where always indulgent, but they hardly ever were flashy about it. Even the richest (MMJ/GTK/MAK etc) led simple and austere lives in public. Any spends were ALWAYS from the cash they had in hand or that they rolled on promises etc.

This is terrible! Instead of expanding the Metro and railways, they are building more and more roads and flyovers and highways in Kerala!

Accounts like these believe these are "exciting" developments. They are only actively trying to kill any mass transit options in the state :(
When it comes to building massive highways and flyovers that will only increase pollution and temperatures there is no environmental destruction for these hypocrites. For them railways that require only much less resources and will solve pollution and congestion are destructive!
There are endless debates whenever a railway project is announced if it is "feasible", "profitable", etc.
No one bats an eye about feasibility or profitability of highways. Whether the Western Ghats will be "destroyed" or wet lands will dry up. No protests.

Kerala government has money for all kinds of free handouts and welfare schemes except for buying new buses for KSRTC.
They are still flogging these poor horses even after they're long dead now.
These buses were supposed to be downgraded to ordinary after 5 years of service. But Kerala govt recently extended their service age to 10 years (!) because "no money to buy new buses".
All of KSRTC's fleet (save for a few new Volvos) are aged, outdated and in terrible shape. The govt refuses to buy new buses. Only around 100 buses in total were bought during the last 7 years or so. At the same time the LDF govt is promoting large highways, cars and driving.
