A person will be able to obtain a GRC from the age of 16 without the need of a medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria. Their sex will be changed legally. If a man then goes into the care sector, this immediately grants them permission to deliver a woman’s/girl’s same-sex care. 2/5
The safeguarding implications of men having access to women and girl’s, especially if the care receiver or their family have made it clear they want same-sex care, are huge. Same-sex care rights would cease to exist as the man would now be recognised as a woman. 3/5
