Elon, it is so much worse than that. Gov't didn't just pay Twitter.

They paid $3 million to post-flaggers who reported election tweets to Twitter.

NSF paid $40 million to NGOs & academics to censor posts after the election.

DOD paid millions to private firms to flag tweets.
And then there's the tens of millions of laundered censorship subsidies flowing from the State Department and NED.

That's just on election censorship. Then there's the vast gov't funding from HHS, CDC and NIH grants that purchased a mercenary army of censors for Covid.
Even the major fact-checking orgs that censor, throttle and label social media posts (like Poynter Institute, the largest org) are funded in part and subsidized by the federal gov't.

I will keep saying it until it comes to an end:

Censorship is an industry. It's big business. And the US federal government is now the censorship industry's biggest paying customer.

You, civilian, are being forced to subsidize your own silence.

DHS domestic censorship creator Chris Krebs, who turned CISA from cybersecurity to cybercensorship to throttle millions of pro-Trump tweets for the 2020 election, recently teamed up with 2 CIA chiefs (Porter Goss & Leon Panetta) for new censor venture:

Kinda weird the Washington Post only called Leon Panetta "White House Chief of Staff" leaving out that he was both the #1 head of the CIA and #1 head of the Pentagon too.

Guess they didn't want to spook their readers by disclosing the censors are spooks.

Chris Krebs, as CISA censorship czar at DHS, deputized disinformation flagging to the Atlantic Council, whose London-based team censored US opinions about mail-in ballots in 2020.

Atlantic Council has 7 living CIA directors currently on its board:

I low-balled this, by the way. The "$3 million to post-flaggers who reported election tweets to Twitter" is actually at least $10 million to 2020-election tweet-flaggers.

The $3M was **just** to EIP's 2 universities, Stanford and UW. Graphika also got $5M in grants, AC got >$2M.
Here's what the Atlantic Council and Graphika were censoring ahead of the 2020 election (Ben Nimmo here was senior hatchet man at both groups):

This is what millions of your tax dollars paid for:

Millie, yes, this screenshot is from page 203 of the Election Integrity Partnership's after-action report detailing how they censored the 2020 election as the deputized private sector misinformation flagger of CISA.
