A LONG EXHORTATION

THEME - What if...

Woke up this morning with a puzzling question in my spirit. Dint pay much attention to it, but, as I got out of bed to begin my morning & daily drill of 60mins-90mins of Thanksgiving, that question again interrupted my thoughts πŸ’¬.
2.
The question was just packaged in two words....WHAT IF?

Before I could process the thoughts, a barrage of other questions began to roll in, and then, I knew I had to UP my game in my daily Thanksgiving drill.

You see, I do this Thanksgiving "drill" every morning before I
3.
progress to praying in the spirit and then in my understanding and with relevant bible passages. (Thanksgiving is key to my relationship with God, because, I Know this for sure...THE UNGRATEFUL CARRIES A MARK OF RESENTMENT)

NOW;
4.
What if you woke up this morning and you began to "knock" on the gates of heaven, and as you did, an angel appeared and told you, "hey, sorry bro/sis, God is still resting. He had a busy day yesterday, and cannot attend to anyone until 4pm...")
5.
What if you knocked on heaven's gate and was denied access because, the accuser of the brethren just used his reggae to spoil your blues the previous night

What if you needed to pour out libations before seeing God?
6.
What if you needed to come with a fattened, spotless cow worth millions of =N=?

What if you needed a fellow human to gain access?

What if God gave you the deserved judgement instead of mercy?

What if you had no one to watch over you?
7.
What if God actually sleeps and slumbers?

What if His love had grown cold because, you wearied him out with consistent and persistent wickedness and disobedience?

THE WHAT IFs ARE JUST INEXHAUSTIBLE.

What if God resists you, who can come to your aid?
8.
What if you have to pay for the oxygen you breathe in freely? (Your guess is as good as mine)

What if God abandoned you when you were going through the numerous vicissitudes of life?

Well, thank God there are no "WHAT IFs"
Thank God He never sleeps nor slumbers.
9.
Thank God we don't need any human intermediary to get to Him.
Thank God we have access to Him consistently, and freely.
Thank God we have no need to pour libations b4 we access Him.
Thank God there is no waiting room in the scheme of things, waiting room to wait for our turn
10.
You see, if there are words for Him then we don’t have them.

You see, words are few, and to try to capture the one true God, using our vocabulary will never do, but we use words as an expression,
an expression of worship to a Savior,
11.
a Savior who is both worthy and deserving of our praise, adoration, Thanksgiving, worship.

#My God,
His grace is remarkable, mercies are innumerable,
strength is impenetrable,

He is honorable,

accountable,

favorable,

He is unsearchable yet knowable,
12.

indefinable yet approachable,

indescribable yet personal,

He is beyond comprehension,

further than imagination...

Christ of unsearchable riches

constant through generations, King of every nation.
13.
What else should you rather do, other than give Him more Praise, Gratitude, Worship.

Remember, there are no IFs.

God be praised

#You will encounter HEAVYWEIGHTS this week

1 Sam 9:6 MSG
He replied, "Not so fast. There's a holy man in this town. He carries a lot of weight around here. What he says is always right on the mark. Maybe he can tell us where to go."

(Grace will take you somewhere... somewhere,
you will meet men and women that carry a lot of weight)

There are categories of weight.
Light weight
Bantam weight
Feather weight
Middle weight
Heavyweight

Saul met Samuel, and his life changed forever...

1 Samuel 9:14
They continued their climb and entered the city. And then
there he was - Samuel! - coming straight toward them on his way to the shrine!

(These heavyweights are coming towards you this week)

They are burden bearers.
They are influential people.

You will not miss them. They will not miss you.
Divinity will cross your path this week

Our ineptitude and inefficiency in the news again.

THIS IS REALLY, REALLY BAD..

Got to the train station early this morning with so much enthusiasm, alas, my enthusiasm about the train ride was deflated within 5secs.

It's bad enough that the road leading to the train station
is like a ride to the ends of the earth, with lots of pot holes etc, but, this was compounded by the gross ineptitude of those managing the facility (train terminal)

How can any serious government establishment even have the audacity and confidence to tell intending passengers
that they have run out of tickets, yes, tickets on a Saturday morning, how?

No tickets to purchase by passengers inbound Lagos, how?

People journeyed frm every corner of ABEOKUTA this morning only to be told, they cannot proceed to Lagos until new stock of tickets arrive at 3pm.

A SHORT EXHORTATION

Theme -From NOBODY TO SOMEBODY.

None gave Saul a chance, Afterall, everyone knew his background. They all watched him grow up...they saw him in his several vulnerable state. They knew his weaknesses. They knew his shortcomings. Infact,
2.
they knew everything about him.....THEN, in...

1 Samuel 10:11 MSG
When those who had previously known Saul saw him prophesying with the prophets, they were totally surprised. "What's going on here? What's come over the son of Kish? How on earth did Saul get to be a prophet?"
3.
He had been transformed. He was no longer the Saul they used to know. He had just been "BLESSED" beyond recognition. This was a sudden turnaround.

Saul dint see all this coming, and neither did his countrymen.

This was divine and only God could pull this off.

This short drama is still playing out in our days.

Jesus noticed this man who had been sick, stagnant and hopelessly hopeless.

He had been there for 38yrs.
Obviously, he was not born there. He was probably dumped there by his parents.
2.
He was probably a teenager with dreams and aspiration when calamity struck, and had to be dumped there when his parents got tired of taking care of him.

Obviously, he had been in his new "residence" even before Jesus was born.... been crippled for 38yrs. WOW 😳
3.
πŸ“Œ
Matthew 5v6-12 TPT
When Jesus saw him lying there, he knew that the man had been crippled for a long time. So Jesus said to him, β€œDo you truly long to be healed?”

To cut the long story short, the crippled man was healed

A SHORT EXHORTATION (Do watch the 2min clip before reading)

Will appreciate comments, FOR or AGAINST.
πŸ“Œ
Theme -After God, your Parents get the highest honour (ofcourse, honour is relative and mean different things to different people)
This piece was inspired by something I witnessed recently. Not everyone may agree, and that's still alright, trust me. Honour goes beyond just the physical expression everyone can see or relate with. Honour is diverse, but, I want to narrow this down to just one aspect.
3.

I am a proud traditional Yoruba, Nigerian, African man, and still uphold some of our traditions that still shapes and inspires in the right direction. This is by no means a write-up to enforce my belief on anyone or make them feel otherwise, if they are not in sync

From my Church mind

A SHORT EXHORTATION

WHY SHOOT OUR WOUNDED? Ps. 109:21-31

A Detroit newspaper reportd that a patient in a local hospital was shot and killed as he lay in his bed recovering from a previous gunshot wound. D victim had been listed in fair condition prior to
the shooting and was looking forward to going home. Hospital patients and employees were stunned. A spokesperson said that nothing like this had happened in the 50yrs of the hospital's existence.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could say the same for our churches?
Wouldn't it be encouraging if we were able to say that in 50yrs of meeting together for worship, fellowship and spiritual healing, we had not had a single instance of a wounded member being cut down by the unkindness of a fellow Christian?
