Everybody eats Ghutka or Pan Masala.
You get all kinds of food here. Local Dum Biriyani, Poori-White Lobia curry were yum. Street food is big, chur muri, fresh cut fruits

Guwahati has fantastic public transport. We used bus to go everywhere. Very well connected city. In spite of this, traffic is terrible. And this coming from a Bangalorean 😅
Most happening places are Dispur, Christian Basti, Ganeshgudi. Has all the major brands and eats.

3) Autos are bloody expensive and they cheat. Maybe because people prefer bus. Ola & Uber are as bad as everywhere else.
All NE States have a Bhawan here. If NE was a country, Guwahati would have been the capital.
Countryside is flat and nothing much to see. Brahmaputra is big.

4) So use Guwahati has a launchpad to your NE journey. Assam can be easily covered in 4/5 days. Kaziranga,Manas, and a Tea Garden Stay, that's it. Unless you are a Wildlife phographer.
