/I never took really Twitter that serious, even when I made my first account for a startup I was working for back in 2012. I always thought it was too random and noisey. Now seeing that it might implode, I can see why, it has basic mechanics that hinder, I’ll share my thoughts
/ did you know you have a limit of 240k tweets a day = noise, fix here is to decrease the available supply, this may impact the bots who are probably the accounts exercising this limit which leads me to the next #fixtwitter tweet, the bots .. 🤖
/ bots are the worst and best part of Twitter. The ultimate issue is again the noise. I previously had a Sarah Conner opinion and thought Twitter should kill the bots🦾. After following a number of accounts like @newsycombinator I realized, some are needed, fix here: verify bots
/ something like a silver verified badge next to the account. I think it would be a couple quick instances run to figure out which bot accounts are worthy of this badge. Im sure something is already running to decipher human from bot or at least in ten years it was built.
/ with chatgpt in full focus and seeing all the randomness being generated, this is an ideal time to start filtering the noise. Killing off the trolling/ sales / predatory bots would save some time and money. Does freedom of speech include ai ? I’m going to leave that 1 alone 🫶🏼
/ I always thought Twitter should be able to tell me when I’m repeating myself after years or just echoing another concurrent conversation happening. (Without the need of a hashtag, sorry @chris :p) For example maybe something I’m mentioning now was covered already by …
/ George Hotz this past month in his effort to #fixtwitter I had this idea to run a tweet like a live query kind of like a google search and then credit the original thought/tweet to the originating author. This can get pretty sticky quickly with a blank slate so my thought here
/ would to start with poetry, historical books, white papers, patents, manuscripts, recordings basically importing the digitized library of Congress. Think that would be a good place to start. If you tweet something that’s been said and points to a reference, you either will..
/ Learn about someone who is likeminded (the idea was this a community correct?) or now know it’s been said in the past. The net result here is bringing down that noise. Around 200 billion tweets are produced a year and how much of that is effectively monetized? What if you
/ could bring that down to let’s say 240 million tweets a year in efficient way without turning away the ability for people to keeping firing off those dopamine channels in their brain, oops I mean keeping your audience engaged and DAU up resulting in some 2018-19 net postive
/ income. I think that may be too aggressive of a jump initially so let’s say the goal to bring the annual tweet total to 24billion and go from there, anyway, that’s just two thoughts about the subject: recap ; wrangle the bots and turn down the noise, pretty basic, el fin✌🏼
