A new book so good I just read it twice in 3 weeks:

Never Finished by David Goggins.

Here are 8 powerful lessons you can use to become the ultimate badass:
🔷 Aim for Greatness

We put people up on a pedestal, but everyone is mortal, just like you.

Anyone can achieve greatness.

Don’t limit your horizon.

We all have the glimmer of greatness, but you have to put in the work to discover it.
🔷 Become a Self-Leader

Make an oath to yourself that:

• Challenges you
• Defines your standard
• You live by every single day

Then lead by example. Work in silence. Follow a plan. Prepare for everything.

Live for something bigger than yourself.
🔷 Build Your Foxhole

Your foxhole is your inner circle.

Some people will hold you back to feel better about themselves.

Your desire for growth threatens them.

You have to cut them out.

And that may mean going it alone.

Only let those in who support your mission for growth.
🔷 Process Your Pain

You may have experienced tragedy:

• Loss
• Injury
• Abuse

You didn’t deserve it. But if you keep asking ‘why me’, you’ll never get over it.

You’re still here. You’re a survivor.

Move forward by letting go of what's holding you back. Choose to fight.
🔷 Record Your Inner Dialogue

Don't hide from the:

• Hate
• Doubt
• Negativity

In your mind.

When you embrace the dark side of your thoughts, you gain power over them.

Transform your trauma into energy.
🔷 The One-Second Decision

It’s easy to set goals when you’re comfortable.

But when you’re in pain, your focus narrows.

You forget the aim.

Instead, take a breath and flash to your future - remind yourself that suffering is temporary.

Better pain now than regret later.
🔷 Break Free From the Prisoner's Mind

You’ve built emotional walls to protect yourself.

But these barriers become bars - we’re prisoners of our minds.

Remember, you hold the keys.

Use anger (in a controlled way) to break free from your circumstances.
🔷 Train Your Humility

What you want isn’t just handed to you.

Feeling like you deserve more will hijack your life.

You must kill the entitlement mentality.

Humility is the answer.

Appreciate what you have and stay hungry for more.

Attitude and action determine your future.
It’s rare for a second book to live up to the first.

But Never Finished exceeds all expectations.

I asked Chat GPT:

“What are the 10 most common reasons why people hate running?”

The answers are precisely what holds you back.

Here they are (and how to overcome them):
"The physical discomfort of running, such as muscle soreness, joint pain, and shortness of breath."

Life isn’t meant to always be easy.

Uncomfortable challenges provide friction which leads to growth.

You get what you want when you step outside your comfort zone.
"The mental challenge of pushing oneself to keep going."

You can beat the voice in your head.

When your mind screams to quit - do a little bit more.

Increase your baseline.

Soon, what you had thought impossible will be the norm.

Take command of your inner dialogue.

The biggest lie they tell you:

Cardio kills muscle growth.

Here’s the truth (and how you can become a jacked runner):
There are 3 pillars of health:

• Sleep
• Nutrition
• Exercise

In that order.

It doesn’t matter how you train, for any exercise program to be successful, you neet to sleep and eat well.
Getting in your best physical shape requires cardio AND strength training.

Sample protocol:

Cardio:

• 3x/week
• 150+ min/week
• Sustained efforts

Strength:

• 3x/week
• 5-10 sets
• Full-body

Most guys want big muscles. But if you’re not fit, you’re not jacked.

Most people stop running in cold weather.

But here’s the truth:

“There’s no such thing as bad weather, just soft people.” - Bill Bowerman, Olympic coach & Co-founder of Nike

Here are 12 pieces of gear you need to run in ANY condition:
🔷 Yak Trax

Turn any shoe into traction spikes to run safely on snow and ice.

Simply slip over your running shoes and secure via velcro.

There’s no better feeling than flying through snowfall while everyone else is hiding inside.

🔷 Feetures Socks

Feetures socks are engineered for performance.

I run in them year round, but when it’s really cold I wear 2 socks on each foot for extra warmth.

Your feet will thank you for the snug and supportive fit.

I’ve run 5 ultra-marathons.

The secret to persistence is to destroy the quitter’s mind.

Here are 8 ideas from Naval Ravikant on building mental toughness and resilience: Image
"All the benefits in life come from compound interest - relationship, money, habits - anything of importance.”

1 run won’t make you fit
1 rep won’t make you big
1 investment won’t make you rich

But 1000 iterations will

Zoom out

Consistency & compounding will change your life.
"Imagine how effective you would be if you weren’t anxious all the time."

If you want to stop worrying, focus on the now.

The best way to stay present is to take on hard tasks.

Apply stress to your body to destroy stress in your mind.

The hardest man alive:

David Goggins.

I've listened to 1000+ hours of his interviews and read his book 4 times.

Here are 12 lessons you can use to become the ultimate badass: Image
Before we get to the lessons,

Goggins resume:

• Navy SEAL
• 3 Hell weeks
• Millions of books sold
• 20-year military veteran
• 100 million+ YouTube views
• 60+ ultramarathons (multiple wins)
• 4030 pull-ups in 24 hours (former WR)

That’s badass.

Onto the key insights:
🔷 Step Outside Your Comfort Zone

Consistent discomfort will strengthen your mind.

Write what you:

• Fear doing
• Avoid doing
• And hate doing

Now go do them.

Start with one.

Small challenges prepare you for the big.
