However the 4 perils would just be ONE thing that they are lightly based on. There are a number of other things they are based on which is true of every Pokémon design. Primarily the ancient artifacts & the animals they are. BUT the 4 perils also have 5 other connections here…

There’s also obviously the connection between the words “ruin” and “peril” but that’s an English translation so there could be no connection other than both having a name with negative/destructive connotations- which just connects back to a lot of what I said above 😊
