SitRep - 26/12 - Chervonopopivka is AFU controlled

An overview of the daily events in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Today was all about another attack on Engels' airbase, the liberation of Chervonopopivka and how close the AFU is to Kreminna.

As usual we start with Russian losses per 26/12 reported by the Ukrainian General Staff. We also include footage of captured/damaged equipment or captured personnel.

+7 APCs

Overnight, Engels' airbase was once again subject to a Ukrainian drone attack. During the day it became clear that 3 people died, 2 more got injured and that the AFU managed to hit a control post. Later today, Russia relocated some of their heavy bombers

When it became dark, the sound alarm once again went off in Engels'. We haven't seen reports of attacks but it will become known tomorrow.

Russia continues to suffer losses. For example in the city of Starobilsk, Luhansk region, in the military hospital about 50 seriously wounded enemy servicemen have recently been delivered.

A warehouse in Novosibirsk caught fire. Reportedly over 3000m² was destroyed.

The 108th can soon be renamed to the 1st capture batallion. So many are captured by them on a daily basis. Here another group of 9.

Over to the general events. The European Commission transferred €66 million to 🇺🇦 for the reconstruction of schools destroyed and damaged by Russia.

This was announced by Katarina Maternova, Deputy Director General of the EC Directorate General for Neighborhood Policy.

Ukraine expects another big missiles attack on New Years Day.

The United States of America plans to speed up the deployment of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in Ukraine. According to Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the US government has a special plan to have the Patriot system ready for use in Ukraine in less than six months.

Over to the fronts, #Bakhmut

➡️Russia increased its attacks on Bilohorivka (1) and west of Yakovlivka (3) to outflank Soledar. Also simultaneously near Bakhmuts'ke (4) more attacks were reported
➡️Opytne (2) is under AFU control. Wagner tried to counter attack, but got repelled

#Donetsk-#Vuhledar-#Pavlivka

➡️Positional battles in Pervomaiske (2). The front there is stuck for Russia
➡️Hard battles in Mar'inka (1). The town is one big ruin but the AFU holds the defense. Also today reinforcements reportedly arrived. Fighting near the city center and north

#Kreminna

➡️The AFU is NOT inside Kreminna despite UA fan accounts cheering it
➡️Chervonopopivka is under AFU control
➡️Zhytlivka (2) got shelled heavy today, say locals
➡️Russia attacked Ploshchanka (1), but got repelled
➡️The AFU is close to Kreminna (3). Trust them.

#Kupyansk-#Svatove

➡️Fighting is ongoing still in Novselivs'ke (1).
➡️The situation in Kolomyichykha is unclear. After the initial fights 2 days ago, both parties are quiet. We will just wait out the news.
➡️Russia shelled Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Tabaivka and Berestove
