I spent the last 2 weeks building the ultimate AI assistant for spreadsheets.
It can:
- Autofill entire sheets just based off context
- Generate formulas and filter rows using text commands
- Directly integrate GPT-3 into your sheets
And more…
Here are a few examples:
(1/8)
2/ SMART AUTOFILL
Automatically fill out tables with relevant formulas and text to perform complex tasks, just based off of context.
Examples:
- Calculating tax owed given marginal tax brackets
- Doing some bookkeeping
- Projecting revenue from a prompt
(In beta for now)
3/ FACTUAL AUTOFILL
Fill out tables with factual information based on the header rows and columns.
Examples:
- Getting information about target companies
- Detecting the components of an address
- Autofilling information about an address
4/ GENERATE FORMULAS
You can describe a formula and it will generate it for you. From simple stuff that’s easier to describe than type out, to harder things incorporating regex, formulas based on contextual info, and sometimes stuff using functions you didn’t even know existed.
5/ FILTERING
Selectively keep/remove rows using natural language prompts. Remove duplicates, only keep submissions with proper email addresses, remove blank rows, etc.
Here’s an example of cleaning up form submissions and then filtering the results:
6/ =AI() and =INFER()
Directly incorporate GPT-3 (and soon GPT-4!) prompts into your spreadsheets using =AI(), or teach it what to do using =infer().
Examples:
- Extracting information from text
- Summarizing text
- Formatting phone numbers
- Categorizing customer feedback
7/ POPULATE
Fill in a column just based on the header. Save time filling out the header column, pulling data, writing out lists, etc.
A few examples:
I’ll be launching the assistant soon for both Google Sheets and Excel. If you wanna try it out, sign up here: forms.gle/ygvFJX39BHsqBy…
Last Saturday, 65 of us made a five-star steak dinner for 100+ guests at New York's highest-rated steakhouse: Mehran's Steak House
The full story:
It all started in a hacker house in New York's Upper East Side. I started living there in November 2021 and started cooking steaks for people every other week. @tydannysaurus put the house as "Mehran's Steak House" on Google Maps, and all of our friends started leaving reviews
@tydannysaurus After a week, a couple walked into our house and asked for the steakhouse. We pretended like we didn't know what was going on, but realized that we could turn it into a real thing.
@rtwlz made a website with a waitlist, and a message that we're booked for several months
