However when BG arrives at his palace where he gives the cat some food, the cat clams down a tiny bit. Enough at least for BG to carefully treat its wounds while its eating.

(Also TLJ kinda has a date with SXY a bit later and doesn't have time to linger around and think about what he could ask from some little slave boy in return for getting rid of his abusers.)
To seal the deal, TLJ has SJ drink some of his blood so that he can find him for when he knows what he wants from SJ. Before he goes and kills the men of the Qiu clan who had abused SJ for years.

Based on my prompt:
The last memory Binghe had was of him loosing control over Xin Mo. After having seen that other world with this fake him and the nicer Shizun, Binghe had ended up ignoring his wives more and more, leading to the demon sword not getting sated enough.
For which he now had paid the price as the sword lashed back at him. However he didn't mind it as slowly the world faded to black around him, because he was just tired by this point.

Binghe just could not risk it. Ning Shijie was a sweet and nice girl, and he would love to protect her, but going with her and potentially failing to protect her would only bring him a world of pain. Also really, he didn't want to encourage her crush on the protagonist.
He wanted Shen Qingqiu as a wife, not as a father-in-law.
So he declined her request to join her to the market and instead send her along with some of the other Shixiong.
But he also didn't request to go with Ming Fan either. It was just not worth it in the end.
Ming Fan would do everything to sabotage him and not let him do any investigating. And really Binghe knew that he would have to fight the monster anyway no matter who found out what it was, because he was the protagonist. It's basically the rules.
