California will see several radical laws go into effect on Sunday, January 1, including a law making the state a “sanctuary” for “transgender kids,” and a law imposing penalties on doctors for COVID “misinformation” — Breitbart
SB 107: ‘Sanctuary State’ for ‘Transgender Kids’
This law protects the use of drugs or surgery to provide “gender-affirming care” to children from other states where the use of such treatments is restricted or criminalized.
SB 107 also prohibits doctors from releasing information to other states, and prohibits California courts interfering in child custody over such treatments, per @BreitbartNews.
AB 2098: ‘COVID Misinformation’
This law requires CA’s medical licensing boards to take disciplinary action against doctors involved with the “dissemination of misinformation or disinformation related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, or ‘COVID-19’.”
AB 2147: Decriminalizing Jaywalking Because of Racism
Called the “Freedom to Walk Act,” it presumes jaywalking is a racist crime because it is supposedly enforced unevenly—in California—in “communities of color” where people supposedly cannot afford to pay the fines.
California’s AB 2147 prevents police from stopping people who are crossing the street illegally unless they are in danger.
According to Breitbart, these radical laws have had “little effective opposition from a shrinking Republican legislative minority.”
SB 1375: Allowing Nurses to Perform Abortions Without Doctors
“This law attempts to expand access to abortion by allowing qualified nurses to perform certain abortion procedures in the first trimester of pregnancy without the supervision of a doctor,” per Breitbart News.
This new law takes effect alongside a new provision in the California constitution—passed by a referendum in 2022—guaranteeing the right to contraception and abortion.
SB 357: Decriminalizing Loitering for Prostitution
This law decriminalizes loitering in public for the purpose of committing prostitution (which remains a crime). It also allows those convicted of such loitering to petition courts for the dismissal and sealing of their cases.
SB 357 aims to “remove the social stigma of sex work.”
AB 257, State Control of Fast Food Restaurants, is on hold. It “creates a ten-member politburo, known as the Fast Food Council, which would serve for ten years” and set wages and working conditions for the fast food industry
Governor Newsom is establishing a national reputation as a left-wing leader on cultural issues as he’s believed to be mulling a presidential run.
“California’s Crazy New Year: Five Radical Laws Go into Effect (One on Hold)”
BREAKING: Katie Hobbs and Maricopa County have filed for sanctions against Kari Lake and her team
Maricopa: "Before a single vote was counted in the 2022 general election, Kari Lake publicly stated that she would accept the results of the gubernatorial election only if she were the winning candidate. But she has not simply failed to publicly acknowledge the election results."
Maricopa: "Instead, she filed a groundless, 70-page election contest lawsuit against [Hobbs], the Secretary of State & Maricopa County and several of its elected officials and employees (but no other county or its employees), thereby dragging them...into this frivolous pursuit."
A recent string of errors and apparent discrepancies in federal statistics favoring Democrats has raised concerns of manipulation — Just the News
Some glaring recent examples include:
• In a boon to Biden, the Bureau of Labor Statistics allegedly overreported total job growth by more than 1 MILLION
According to the BLS, the economy added 1,047,000 jobs in the second quarter of 2022—greatly underestimating unemployment.
“A separate report from the Philadelphia Federal Reserve released last week calculated actual job growth during that period at a mere 10,500 positions, meaning total employment remained essentially flat,” per @JustTheNews.
BREAKING: A House investigation into the Twitter Files has been launched 🔥
In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, @Jim_Jordan and @RepMikeJohnson announced the investigation’s launch: “We are investigating politicization and abuses at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as Big Tech’s censorship of conservatives online.” #TwitterFiles
The letter mentioned “newly released information” showing the FBI “coordinated extensively with Twitter to censor or otherwise affect content.” This was “apart from any particularized need for a specific investigation, but as a permanent and ongoing surveillance operation.”
House Republicans have reportedly uncovered correspondence showing that Pelosi’s office helped craft the failed Capitol security plan in place on J6 — Newsmax
“A group of GOP congressmen tasked with responding to the official House Jan. 6 select committee report made the internal communications public on Wednesday after months of concealing the secret project,” according to @NEWSMAX.
“In the report, text and email messages show two top Pelosi staffers attended regular meetings to discuss Capitol security plans since December 2020, with the California Democrat’s chief of staff Terri McCullough even appearing to edit the official schematic,” per Newsmax.
Study shows chances of contracting COVID increase with each vaccine dose — Just the News
A recent study “from the Cleveland Clinic has questioned COVID-19 vaccine efficacy and posited that additional doses may in fact increase one’s likeliness of contracting the disease,” per @JustTheNews.
It was conducted between September & December, and examined 51,000 employees.
It discovered an association between “higher risk of COVID-19 and those individuals who had previously received a greater number of vaccine doses.”
It also uncovered the bivalent vaccines were only 30% effective in preventing infection against different variants of the Omicron.
Rep. @laurenboebert demanded a full accounting of US military aid provided to Ukraine before she would vote for more — NBC News
Boebert: "Sadly, what I didn't hear tonight was a clear explanation of where the first $50 billion we sent to support their efforts went. Until Congress receives a full audit on where our money has already gone, I will not support sending additional money to this war."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Biden at the White House earlier, then delivered an address to a joint session of US Congress today.
This is Zelensky's first known trip outside Ukraine since the war began in February.
