After a tough loss in the Fiesta Bowl, here are 10 reasons for optimism for Wolverine Fans (a thread):

1. @UMichFootball roster has been elevated substantially over the past 3-4 seasons. The 2023 Michigan Football roster will be as talented or more talented than 2022 roster.

2.Michigan Football has elite level talent returning at most key position groups in 2023.

3. @UMichFootball has raised its ceiling and broken through the CFP oligopoly that existed through 2021 with Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Ohio State. Michigan is back again as one of the elite programs in college football, without any question, by any way that can be measured.

4. Jim Harbaugh and the @UMichFootball coaching staff have proven to be quite adept with the transfer portal, filling needs and adding talent at important open spots.

5.Santa Ono is a distinct upgrade over Mark Schlissel at President and is helping upgrade the NIL game at @UMich and overall visibility and status of the @UMichAthletics department.

6.2023 @UMichFootball schedule lays out favorably, similar to 2022 schedule with time to develop players, prepare for key games.

7.@UMichFootball has eliminated a sizeable talent gap that existed between Michigan and Ohio State over the past 5-8 seasons and is pretty much at par with the Buckeyes in the aggregate. #GoBlue

8.@UMichFootball has proven that it can compete at the highest levels of college football. #GoBlue

9.With an expanded playoff beginning in 2024, @UMichFootball will be in the college football playoff conversation every single season as at least 3 Big Ten teams will be invited each year. #GoBlue

10.@UMichFootball has created a gap between itself and most of the other Big Ten football programs, with the exceptions of Ohio State and Penn State. This gap did not exist just a couple of seasons ago. #GoBlue
