Here's a straight news story unironically promoting the predictions of a man best known for being spectacularly wrong about the exact same predictions 50 years ago.

Paul Ehrlich 1968: "The battle to feed all of humanity is over."

In the April 1970 issue of The Progressive, Paul Ehrlich projected a 1999 "United States of North America" population of 22.6 million.

Ehrlich, April 22, 1970 Earth Day speech:

"In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish."

Paul Ehrlich 1971: "even money that England will not exist in the year 2000."
