Selected from the over 600 replies and quote tweets for CR Boxes made in 2022. Wow! What great entries. Almost impossible to select 2022 recipients, & so I encourage the audience to just peruse 👇! Here we go! (long thread & possibly 2)

The First Annual #CorsiRosenthalBox Awards continue. Threads embedded in this tweet recognize all of the outstanding recipients of earlier awards. We end w/ the top CR Box Award - The Protecting Others Award (POA) (I know - the name of the award keeps changing).
The Protecting Others Award underscores a movement originally intended for making effective air cleaning accessible & also to provide an opportunity to build in bulk to help others lower their inhalation dose to virus-laden and other aerosols. This award recognizes the latter.💙
There were so many GREAT entries for the POA. So, we will highlight the g💙💙dness of many before announcing our top three awards. I note again that these awards are only for those who submitted replies to the original call as there are others out there doing great work!
1/ As I reflect on 2022 I am so proud and honored to serve as Dean of @UCDavisCOE, an extraordinary college community w/ great faculty, amazing staff, & wonderful students and alumni. And to be part of such a great public university as @ucdavis is a dream. 💙
2/ There are so many college highlights from the last year that I cannot list more than a small fraction here. One is that our college had a record year in terms of research expenditures, with an almost 20% increase from last year. And the research is impactful & growing!
3/ Through a robust grassroots effort we developed an exciting new strategic research vision that is already informing important investments, new partnerships, faculty hiring, and more.
1/ "Team airborne won the vitriolic debate about how the SARS-2 viruses spread, but little has been done to make the improvements in indoor air quality that would cut the risk of virus transmission, Scarpino said."
2/ Sad it was vitriolic. I don't think anyone was a winner due to the tragic delays in acknoweldgment of the importance of inhalation of virus-laden aerosols.
Those of us on the "winning" side were deeply frustrated for not having a megaphone like those on the "losing" side.
3/ I agree that little has been done to make the improvements that are needed. But the derivative is positive and we need to work to make the second derivative stays positive as well. Inspired by individuals who are taking the bull by the horns & making improvements themselves.
1/ The trolls, haters, and bots have been out in force lately. I never respond directly, for that provides them a larger audience. Always block those who spew misinformation or who are just mean with words and accusations. A few paraphrased here with responses.
2/ "You are a clown".
Response: Darn right! Really appreciate the compliment.
3/ "And much do you make off that air cleaner" (in response to my promotion of the #CorsiRosenthalBox).
Response: $0, zero, notta. In fact, I have lost as I have spent my own $$$ to build CR boxes for those less fortunate. Your turn. What are you doing?
1/ Thanks, @JeromeAdamsMD. I agree 100% with ROI, particularly for ventilation + equivalent ventilation via filtration & GUV. The #CorsiRosenthalBox was developed specifically to make air cleaning cost accessible to a larger swath of people during the pandemic.
2/ It's been proven through research to be more effective than commercial HEPA air cleaners that cost 3 to 10 times more. That so many people have been able to utilize this open source technology has been a thrill for me.
3/ I am wholly inspired by those who are building CR Boxes in bulk to help others and by those who have continued to evolve the concept in very positive ways.
