#QuantumofSolace has many detractors. Yet the film is full of great images, situations, twists and dialogue.

Let's fly like a bullet through the shortest #JamesBond film.

QoS_001 No gunbarrel. Controversial, but as a direct sequel to Casino Royale, this makes sense.

QoS_002 The car chase in the tunnel. Puts the viewer in the driving seat. The divisive editing style begins. Blink and you'll miss the door fly off...

QoS_003 The torn-off door is a great idea. #JamesBond seems to be in genuine peril.

Nice that #QuantumofSolace pays homage (?) to the truck chase in #LicencetoKill. Notice @AnthonyStarke in peril. And @RobertJohnDavi not particularly worried at the chaos!

QoS_004 This shot. #JamesBond is cold, clinical, ruthless.

QoS_005 This crane shot in Siena, designed by cinematographer #RobertoSchaefer is glorious - and we are introduced to the first title card graphics by
@weareMK12.

QoS_006 The Twist in the Trunk. #JamesBond reveals that throughout that hectic car chase opening, Mr White was in there all along. We are reminded that this is a direct sqeuel to #CasinoRoyale, and Quantum are already in pursuit.

Bond: "It's time to get out".

QoS_007 The opening titles. Bond walking in a (metaphorical?) desert, itself foreshadowing elements of the plot. The steely blues and sandy tones which will continue throughout the film. Some miss Daniel Kleinman's designs but this classy sequence is by @weareMK12.

QoS_008 @DavidGArnold creates his fifth Bond score. He discusses it on his Scala Radio show:

"I met with [director Marc Forster] early on... he was interested in having me write music at the outset, to the idea of the film, rather than strictly to the picture."

"Once Marc started shooting, his editors sent me assemblies of character pieces, the villain Dominic Greene for instance, so I could see how he moved, how he talked, and how he looked on screen and how I felt about that. It was incredibly liberating."

"I could write the atmosphere of the piece rather than the specifics of the scene's construction.

It meant that I could create a sort of temporary library of original material for the movie and the editors could actually put it in places I might not have put it."

"Sometimes that worked so well I just rerecorded their edits. Sometimes I had to write whole scenes from scratch. But generally I felt it helped create a leaner, and a more intense, score."

QoS_009 The Title Track. Jack White creates an unforgettable opening for "Another Way to Die", the first duet in Bond movies, with Alicia Keys. The song really does hit you with the paranoia of an agent who is hyper-aware if the risks around him.

"Another Way to Die" suits a film that shakes things up. In Mat Whitecross' The Sound of 007, Jack White recalls creating late in production:

"This is also a great time for me to put things in that they would never have approved of if they had a year to think about it!

White continues: "... you would never expect a guitar solo like that to be part of any major Hollywood production let alone a James Bond song. ... it's the number one most divisive thing I have ever been a part of."

Although Prince liked it. White recalls the music legend commenting: "I thought it was *real* strong".
