Hundreds of people beginning to gather for Marcha Por La Paz here at Campo de Marte.

No police here as of right now.
These Peruvians brought the Israeli flag to the March.

They told me that to them, “the flag of Israel represents peace.”
One truck of police now arriving as march gets ready to begin.
Police here won’t give me a response as to whether they officially support the March. But they told me a spokesperson will reach out later with an official response.
Starting with the Peruvian national anthem…
Maybe needless to say, but this March is also replete with religious messaging.
Now heading to Plaza San Martin.
Two counter protesters just arrested here.
Counter-Protesters tried to resist arrest and were both eventually taken into police cars and driven away.
Marchers followed police who had detained two counter-protesters cheering them on.
Chanting no to communism.
Counter-protester pushed by marcher.
Giant flag entering Av. Nicolás de Piérola.

The white ponchos represent peace.
Marcha Por La Paz is allowed to enter the center of Plaza San Martin for the second time.

I haven’t seen Anti-Boluarte protests being allowed to enter the center.
There are counter-protesters here but so far, it’s way less than the previous #MarchaPorLaPaz.
.@AlejoMunante has arrived at the Plaza. He says the majority Peruvians want peace.
Congressman @AlejoMunante now speaking.

He thanks the police and armed forces.

#MarchaPorLaPaz
This is Peruvian journalist @claudiatoro speaking at the March.

Sure to anger protesters who have been chanting “prensa basura” for the last 3 weeks.
This lantern said “yes to peace, no to communism.”
Chanting “fuera Evo”……in reference to Evo Morales I guess?
Another lantern released. This time with a message of support for @PoliciaPeru and the Armed Forces.
Carina tells me she supports the March because she is against the “radical left” and because she doesn’t want Peru to turn into Venezuela.
The march officially ended but many people are still here praying and chanting.
Maylo supports the March and believes that the majority of Peruvians do as well.
Small groups of counter-protesters outside the Plaza.

This is all that’s left.

All tents have been cleared from Plaza Manco Capac. Only these three tents remained but are currently being taken down.
Some pushing and shoving but protesters are complying and taking down their tents.
As last tents are officially taken down, chanting continues and police are leaving the plaza.
