Thiruvathira (Ardra Nakshatra) which comes on Pournami day in the Tamil month of Margazhi & Malayalam month of Dhanu
Ardra darshanam is celebrated in all Shiva temples. Worshiping the Dance form of Paramashiva, Nataraja. Shiva's cosmic dance signifies ; creation, protection, destruction, incarnation & release which represents the endless creation
& destruction cycle.
Vratham is observed on this day. Chidambaram temple celebrate Ardra Darshanam in a grant manner. Vyagrapada muni, and Adishesha observed vratham & They were given darshan of Cosmic dance by Nataraja on this day.
Hanuman, the greatest devotee of Sri Rama, is the symbol of devotion & dedication. Hanuman mantra helps to overcome difficulties that we face in our life.
Ekadashi Tithi which falls on Shukla Paksha of Tamil month of Margazhi & Malayalam month of Dhanu is Vaikunta Ekadasi or Swarga Vashal/ Vaadhil Ekadashi & Paush Putrada Ekadashi. Vaikunta Ekadasi is treated as most important of all Ekadashi.
It is believed that Mahavishnu opens Vaikunta Dwaram (door) on this day. Vaikunta Dwaram is a special door near Garbha Griham in majority of Vishnu Temples. Those who enter through this Dwaram will get the punyam of visiting Vaikuntam.
Pancha Mukha means 5 faces. Five faces each depicting five forms of worship. Hanuman revealed his 5 faces such as Hanuman, Narasimha, Adi Varaha, Garuda & Hayagriva.
During Ramayana war, Ravana sought the help of Ahiravan, king of Patal Loka to attack Rama.
Ahiravan disguised himself as Vibhishana & took
Rama & Lakshmana to Patal loka. Ahiravan could be killed only by extinguishing 5 lamps at same time which was in 5 directions.
Hanuman thus took Panchamukha Avatar, destroyed Ahiravan & saved Shri Rama & Lakshmana.
Importance of Panch Devi is mentioned in Shiva Puran. When Brahma Deva found difficulties in doing Srishti, Mahadev appeared before him. Paramatma took two forms Purush & Prakriti. Prakriti is maya of Shiva. Prakriti is divided into 5 forms called Panch Devi
Panch Devi's are Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Gayatri & Radha.
Ma Durga is Bhagavati herself. Durga is Shiva Swarupa, who is Purna Brahma Swarupini, who bless with Fame, Virtues, Pleasure & Moksha.
