If you're saying you had Covid & are fine, & you didn't have a post-infection check-up, you just don't know. Half the folks I know who have demanded tests (d-dimer, troponin, basic clotting, diabetes screen, etc) have had abnormal results.
If we are expected to have multiple infections from a virus that causes vascular, organ, brain & immune system damage--often silent until a catastrophic event-- we need to know how to troubleshoot & mitigate.
Colds don't cause clots & diabetes. Covid does.
Friends/colleagues have been surprised at the signs of cardiovascular damage & clotting issues in post-infection testing. These are yoga folks and runners and cyclists and rock climbers who demanded & could afford tests --most clinicians balked, then were surprised at results.
"'Large groups of people facing death act in surprising ways. Most of us become incredibly docile…Usually, we form groups and move slowly, as if sleepwalking in a nightmare.' In short, we don’t panic. We chill way out."
"About half of people are almost destined to shut down during an emergency. Even if they can function, they’ll spend precious time gossiping with each other and trying to get more information before they even try to do anything."
Saying "I got Covid and I did ok" is kind of like saying "I have HIV and I feel fine," or "I don't even feel my hepatitis."
Acute infection is not the end of SarsCov2. Until science catches up --and government acknowledges what we do know--avoid infection and reinfection...
...and ask your health care provider about troubleshooting for potential common post-acute Covid problems like blood clots, hypertension, other cardiovascular damage, new onset diabetes and pulmonary issues. Many of these issues are treatable if you find them early.

"That the business press is leading the way because they value their employees more than we value our neighbors is an embarrassment to the movement. Where are the voices of Long COVID patients in the New Republic?"
