In Poona, the first school for underprivileged girls was opened in 1841 by Jyothiba Phule and run by Savitribai Phule. Meanwhile, Hoti Vidyalankar, one among few Brahmin woman scholer, taught only to Brahmins as per Sanatana principles which had been followed over 2000 years.
Brahmins ran Institutions only for Brahmins. No one would accept Hati as a teacher, whom teaches a particular community as per Sanatan Dharm. It's Savitribai Phule who opened a school for all low-caste girls, against the ideologues of Sanatan Dharm
Why Scholars and reformers hails #SavitribaiPhule as First teacher and why not #Hati Vidyalankar? A particular communal teacher can't be a teacher at all. Why & What's the need of projecting a unknown Brahmin woman against #SavitribaiPhule ?
It's usual trick of Fakalogist aka @TrueIndology to twist the stories as his hiSTORY. Here is a thread how he manipulate the history in support of Brahmanism.
"Female education had been customary with the Hindus. Hindu females of Higher classes had won much celebrity and accomplishments"
Source: Isvar Chandra Vidyasagar,a story of his life
and work.
And @TrueIndology named few Brahmin woman scholers, and they are not teachers.
In 19th century, even the Britishers felt difficulties to establish Sanskrit Schools for Girls in Brahmanical dominant Hindu Society. Thanks to Sanskrit Scholar Isvar Chandra who fought for Female education along with Missionaries.
